OK SO A FOLLOW UP FROM A PREVIOUS POST. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE SERVING ME ON MONDAY 7/29/13. I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED BACK. I AM ASSUMING THERE WILL BE ANOTHER PHONE CALL FROM A DIFFERENT SET OF SCAMMERS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE. I MADE THE MISTAKE OF DOING A PAYDAY LOAN ONLINE A FEW YEARS BACK AND THAT IS PROBABLY HOW THEY GOT MY INFORMATION. BOTTOM LINE THEY ARE SCAMMERS. DO NOT PAY THEM.

Started getting these call over the weekend and its right after the Portfolio Recovery Associate calls. They are scamming from old dead debts. They get your information from your credit report and in my state simply just claim I owe them they can get all the info they want! Its unfair and I am constantly writitng the FCC, BBB and my state attorney general.  Yes this is scripted threaten Pure B/S ! Called my cell number this morning, looking for my ex-wife.  We have been divorced since 1989, so I am not sure why they would call me.  Anyway, same as those above, they threatned to go to her home and place of employment and serve with papers for some lawsuit.

Called the 888 number and told them that we have been divorced for 24 years and I have no contact with her.  Let's hope that they don't call back, or I may have to get an attorney to stop them.

Mg same thing happened to me

Omg this just happened to me.  A guy claiming to be an attorney name Flint Cruz.  Left threatening messages on my moms and brother in laws phone to call back this number or he will be at my residence last Thursday.  I immediately called and set up payment arrangements and made a payment.  Today I talked with my attorney and she said because I borrowed money over the computer from a payday loans it's a virtiual debt and its a scam that they are calling.  It's illegal for them to try to collect like that and those loan places sell their debts to collection agencies.. Etc. any debt collections must send something in the mail.  she directed me to place a fraud alert on my bank and stop future pmt collections.  I believe the place is office of recovery processing system

HAHA she called me too. Was there any follow up after?

Got a message from a Susan Stone saying she had a request for me to sign some paperwork about paying a debt and it was my last chance to contact them about the matter or someone would serve me paperwork at either my work or residence. This isn't the first time scammers have called me, last time it was a a gentleman with the same spiel. And the time before that as well. They have gotten better, before they always sounded like they were foreigners but now they have better US accents and at the end they always say either "Good Luck" or "God Bless" at the end. No real debt collector will tell you good luck! I have yet to be served with any paperwork so I will just ignore them as I have been.

I had a man call me from 1-888-324-0361. Stating he has an impending court order for some type of litigation in is office. That I need to contact this office to sign papers. When they call me concerning this matter. They call from a private number and leave the 888-324-0361 for you to call.

Not sure what the name of the company is, but they are very rude and very harrassing!  They have left me two messages and never once mentioned the name of the company they were calling from. They are calling my mother and told me that he had court papers for me and also said he was going to my job and residence to serve court papers.

I got the message on my voice mail saying that if I didn't call them, then they would serve me papers on Tuesday.  They did not give me the name of the person calling or the company.  They had even called one of my neighbors house to give the same message to me.  I dont even know how they got her number.

Some guy has been calling for the past 3 days saying their gonna go to my moms house with some court papers. I suspected it was a scam so I brought it to his attention that I have the BBB on speed dial. He laughed and said "We own the BBB!" I laughed and said "Good Luck!" Damn scam artists

A LADY THAT SAYS HER NAME IS ANGELA DELGALTO CALLED AND LEFT 2 RUDE MESSAGES SAYING SHE WAS COMING SERVE ME COURT PAPERS AND FOR ME TO MAKE SURE I STAYED HOME ALL DAY AND HAD ID AVAILABLE, NEVER SAID THE NAME OF THE COMPANY SO I WONT ANSWER BUT SHE ORIGINALLY CALLS FROM A RESTRICTED NUMBER, SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM

Got a call a week ago from these same people asking for Amos Santoz. I called the number back to tell them they had the wrong number how ironic now they are calling my number for a Mary Mayberry people it's a scam how does someone from the same number call for two different people either someone is mixed up or dumb a** hell I'm sticking with dumb a** hell. Yes they left the message about serving papers and coming to my job obviously if you got the wrong number then you sure as hell gon have the wrong job unless your serving papers on my phone and my phone don't have a job or it could pay it's own bill cause it seems that's the only dam thing you got is my phone number!

I am receiving calls from this company and I am not even the one that they are looking for.

I got to calls from these people and saying that I was going to be getting served papers and had to go to court. At the end of the message it she say "GOOD LUCK" wth. Call the number they gave me and the guy was so weird and sounded out of breath. Give it up people your not going to get anything from me!!!

i received a call from this number from a man names alan? i can't make up the name, however, he said that he has paperwork for service on me on monday june 17 either at home or work. is this for real? can debt collectors do this. its true i owed money 2 yrs ago atleast but i lost my job so i couldn't pay them. but can they do this now? PLEASE someone tell me ... thank you

Some guy name thomas called and said I have 1 day to call or they will send me to court. I called and told him ill be waiting. I told him I will be getting them for harassment. They keep calling my phone threatening me im tired of it. They got to go.

Cameron Thomas called me yesterday and left a voicemail. He said I had a couple hours to call them back, otherwise he'd be coming to my home and work. I didn't call them back. He never showed up. Didn't hear from his rude self today!! :). And I better never hear back from him again. He should be arrested, for harassing and bullying AND lying.

well its been two days i havent heard from them yesterday,so today this guy Richard laughlin or somethng called my cell phone telling me that i need to get intouch with dem in d next hour andif he dont hear from me dey will be at my job to summon me to appear in court i didnt call him back and i told my boss that therye supposed to be a guy coming to give me a paper to appear in court if they do let me know i told him that they been harassing me so we waited all day and they never show they didnt show two days ago and im still waiting for them to show up coz i got someting for them so next time they call me again im going to answer my phone this time and see wats this all about they always call on a blocked or unknown number

Jenny, ha I'm waiting too, to see what happens. Cameron can't come to my place of employment because I'm in a secure military installation. And he can't come to my home, because I live in a gated community. It's illegal for people who don't live there to piggy back on someone else to get through the gate, and he's not allowed to trespass. Cameron Thomas deserves to be arrested and go to jail for his type of unethical scamish behavior.

Cameron Thomas called me this morning. He left a voicemail. He better not call back, and he better not come visit me at my home or place of employment. I want to know how he got my phone number. This is ridiculous. I'll be reporting his as$ to the BBB and any other agency I can to get them shut down!

Just got the same phone call from a Maya Harrison who was also rude.  Lucky for her I could not get my recorder going fast enough.  Turning it over to my lawyer for violations of the TCPA and FDCPA.  I will be suing them.

Someone called me from restricted named Alex Attea saying he had papers for me to appear in court and that it didn't look like a criminal matter (duh cause that's not how that's handled) He then proceeded to tell me he had a number and claim number for me to call and I could get a release number for him so he could take me off his schedule. I googled the number (1-888-324-0361) found this page and I knew it was a scam. He called me again today and I told him if he wanted to meet we could do so at a local police department bc I looked up the number he gave me and it has been reported as a scammer, all he said was oh yeah? and I said yeah and hung up. He has not tried to call me again...yet.
No company info popped up for this number, no website for a legit company either. I have reported them to the FTC. http://www.ftc.gov  ;that's their website you don't have to call them, you can do a simple complaint on the web.
Do not let these people bully you or threaten you.

You will have to do this yourself. 800Notes is not a clearinghouse to stop unwanted calls. Let them know the next time they call you do not discuss legal matters over the phone and hang up.
