They just called me now (lvm) to talk to my ex bf who I have not spoken to in probably 6 years. I got this phone # only 3 years ago so I've no idea how they would have gotten my phone #.

If everyone who complained on  this WEB site would go to https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1 and file a complaint then something will be done to stop these people.

Today I got a call from this number. She said she is calling on behalf of Bank Of America. She does know my name though.
She ask to talk to me. I said "I am speaking", the next question she was asking me that "Could you please verify your 4 digit of your social". Right away I think this is ridiculous, I just told her I don't have time to talk and I hang up soon after.

This number has called before and I've never known who it was - usually I just hang up. Today I answered as I was finishing a conversation with a real person in front if me. The caller mimicked me and hung up on me.

Keep calling no one there. Can't get them to stop.

i got a call today from a man saying he has papers to serve me. i ask from who and all he gave me was that number. i blocked my number and a man answered named Dave Mathews. i hung up.

I receive calls from these guys. It's a recorded/computerized voice asking for someone I don't know. I've never responded to the call. I just hang up, but I've recently downloaded the blacklisting app for my phone.Sometimes it ends up leaving a snippet of the call in my voice mail but it's not that often.
I think no response is the best response for these guys.

Unwanted phone calls to my cell phone

I get the call on my cell phone once or twice a week, at different times, a recorded female voice asking to speak to Phillip Guy. "If you are Phillip Guy, press 1. If you are not Phillip Guy, press 2." Any idea what this is about? The first time I pressed "2" and then the voice said, "If you can call Phillip Guy to the phone, press 1. If you cannot call Phillip Guy to the phone, press 2."  I hung up. Any ideas?

This number called me today, I answered and immediately got a recorded message apologizing for the hold time... really? You're going to call me and put me on hold to talk to you?

WOW...Debt collector, calling about relative's, friends', neighbors' debts? Sounds like we need to talk to Dave Ramsey about this. He says they have very few rights, including harrassment. Sure need to get some legislation stopping this. In the past, I've fussed at my kids/grandkids for giving out my number - now I see it's possible they didn't. :P

Got first call 3/28/12 10:42am.  It is a collections agency called CBCS, however it came up 800 Service on my caller ID.  I don't have any debt and they said on the message they were looking for another person.  I can never understand how they get this number because no one has ever had my number except for me.  I reported them to the DO NOT CALL LIST COMPLAINT DEPT.

Keeps calling for my step son that has NEVER lived with us.  I tryed to return the call to tell them to stop calling, but it won't even ring....  How can I get them to stop?

Stupid lowlife scum! That's what they are! Hey, CBCS, guess what, pigs? I already have a lawyer that's been handling other trash like you for me and have already alerted them about your previous illegal harassing calls! Get a clue, moron's ... NO debt to collect here!!! NO pay for you, 18 calls from you to date so far and that's at least $1,000 per violation! This will serve all who have an Android phone. Go to your market and download Ringo lite which is free. This allows you to assign a silent ringtone, a silent SMS tone and most importantly send all calls from this and any number you choose strait to voicemail. Since they don't leave voicemails your home free. This works great for me. If I were to block the number the would spoof their number and get through. This way they cannot even tell it's as if your phone is simply off. Download Ringo,save the number as a contact, then open Ringo,go to contacts, assign silent ringtone and SMS and check box send to voicemail.  The best part of it all is if your on the web or not you won't even know or be disturbed. You can delete any email at your convenience if they did leave a message.... I hope this helps. It sure helped me.

Received message at work to call back "Cheryl",  said it was a "personal matter." Never heard of them before. After reading this, I won't be calling them back.

Blame your phone company- Dead beats change their numbers and the phone folks recycle them to us lucky new holders. Phone Cos probably enjoy them making all these fruitless calls.

In the case of a deceased person, if your name is NOT on any of their accounts, you are NOT liable for them.  A copy of the death certificate sent to them should stop any further calls.  If not, then turn it over to the attorney general in your state for harrassment.  They cannot force you to pay another persons debts.

A**holes!!! Called me yesterday using this SPOOFED number 866-760-5159, then today with 888--325-3826.

Guess what I already have a lawyer handling other criminal/illegal debt collectors that have tried to harass and threaten me into paying them a debt I don't have... and after these a**holes tried yesterday (at that time 14 total calls from them) I contacted my lawyer... prior to posting here I contacted him again about this, the 15th illegal, call!

Let's see $1,500 x 15 = $22,500 so far I'll collect from THEM for this BS harassment!!!

FYI, these a**holes are in repeated violations of the FDCPA and FCRA!!!
