Received a call from 888-325-8583.
Have received numerous calls using 888-790-2773 and 888-330-4072.  These numbers have been identified on other blogs as Autism Foundation Wings of Hope Program.  If you research you will find that it has been identified as a SCAM.

Be advised that Wings of Hope and its parent organization, Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation, are not in any way related to the Autism Society.  Here is a link that you can check for yourself

I have blocked these calls.  My system is set up so that my phone will NOT ring however messages will go to my recorder.  Obviously no messages left

Call Type: Telemarketer

Have just started receiving calls from this number plus many, many from 800-669-0102 (bank of America) which leaves a voice message one out of every six calls.  Do not owe any money from loans, have spent 4 hours on phone, in bank, on phone to no avail.  They admit I owe nothing but phone calls keep coming in.  I'm ready to rip phone out of wall.

I'm also on the DNC list, yet I'm getting at least three calls a day from different orgs. I don't answer most of them though I sometimes answer and tell the person to please remove my name from the list as soon as I determine who they are. In other cases, it is crystal clear from the caller ID that the caller is not someone I want to talk with.

Based on info on this website and elsewhere, I believe nearly all of these calls are from telemarketers spoofing other numbers, or third party callers on behalf of "charities." Roman is correct that these parties ARE restricted by the DNC law. So people should keep reporting them, as I do.

I followed ek's advice just now, had to listen carefully and follow prompts, but I was able to enter our phone # to request no further calls.  EK, you did us a big favor by posting your advice.

Just got the first call from this number after having gotten off about 6 other 888 numbers in the past month.  Hope this one gives up easier than the others did.

If you call that number they have you to press 1 for more info.  Then there is a message at the end for you to opt out if you don't want them calling you.  Jus t enter your number as instructed and noi more calls.

Received call with no msg left on ans machine.  Returned the phone call.  Auto voice says this is for autism research for children and that they are calling "with important updates."  Followed prompts to have our phone number excluded from their calling.  After that, auto voice said that federal law allows them 30 days to remove the phone number, but "they will try to remove my number (as keyed in per the prompts), as soon as possible."
So called charity organizations are exempt from the DNC list, but they must remove your phone number & name upon request.  I have never given information or made any type of donation to these robocallers. Note that these "charitable" telemarketers take a percentage, leaving the real org with only a small stipen.  Real charities are registered with the IRS and are required to have a current 501-C on file.  This can be verified on the IRS website or by contacting the IRS directly.

I wish it was this easy 'missynl', Non stop non-profit pain in my a--es! I swear they time it well too..3rd time this week. I come home on my break, have a little time to take a nap and awakened by these trolls!  How in the hell do I know this isnt some scam.  Sorry theres Autism in the world, I really am. But this is no way for us to help...Plus hours away before I, and many others have to stop at the post office to pay this govt hard earned money for taxes. Ugh, they picked a bad day to bug me. I'm cranky.

Calling non stop all week, also using the number 888-790-2773. Called back and it is an Autism awareness program with a message "Sorry we missed your call, we will try again in the next few days."  Total harassment!

Call them back and press 1, then 3 and entire your phone number if you want have it placed on their Do Not Call list.

Ever since i signed up on the do not call list, i've gotten more telemarketer calls than ever before..Iget them every day of the week at least 2 or 3 times a day..It's a joke..

nonprotis are excempt from US Do Not Call list because that's the law Congress passed. If you don't like it, but your congresscritter.

THey call, say they are the fdn for autism and ask for my mother and that they tried her and no answer, asking if she is sleeping.  We say probably.  
After hanging up, wonder how they got our number and that they must know that mom goes to bed early.  They called at 8 pm.  Very strange and creepy that they somehow know to call us to ask about her.

Thanks so much to EK for giving this advice.  I tried it and it worked well although you have to press 3 before you press 1.  Recommend listening closely to the prompts.  You saved me a lot of frustration with these calls.
