I had a HP Locate contact me today they said that they were hired by MWS company.....He said that he just wanted to verify my cell # and that was it....When I called the number back at first the pre recording was ALS company then it went to this dude who said he was HP Locate and they locate people... I ask if they were on the internet and he said yes...and he said that they were not a debt collector...but true debt collectors send you a letter they do not have PI call your phone...this is a new one for me...I know who I owe and I have paid them.
... i told him that I would change my phone # with in the next 5 min which I have. They cannot call me again.....But I wish that someone could tell me is this a Scam or what???

I got a call from a Nebraska number today asking for my fiance on the message. Just said they were hired by a third party to locate him.

Just asked for name and then wanted personal identification information without stating why there were needing this information until I gave them my social....  Like who the heck is going to give out that information in this day and age.

By the way for those who want to know what kind of company H.P. Locate is, it is a skip tracing company.

Don't fall for the threats! Call your local police or District Attorney and they will tell you they do not do things like that, a real Private Investigator don't use these types of tactics or play childish games on your phone. If you feel you are being threatened or harassed call your local authorities or D.A. and they will try to assist you.

And if any PI pretends to be a law enforcement or a government official and threaten you or threaten you with arrest, they are breaking the law.

Stop trying to scare people on this site, you're nothing but a filthy scammer using a phone because you don't have the balls to use a gun. A thief all the same. NOBODY has to answer your calls. NOBODY.

People this is a real company and for you people thats claiming they are looking for you, it's in your best interest to call back. Grow up and handle your business. You kow your problems and situations so stop acting as if you have no idea why 800 numbers are calling you.

These callers are worrisom. I receive 3 calls per day sometimes 4. Reported the number to the FTC about a week ago. Suggest everyone does the same.

We have received various calls from this number and 8883311435 who identifies themselves as "HP Locate" requesting information about several different people. Despite our request to cease the calls, they continue.

called posing as a PI firm. Two different calls, two different people. Internet sight with little to no info. Probably a scam.

It was from HP locate correction but for Suntrust mortgage

I recieved a call from them and it came from my mortgage co. I was late on my mortgage so it was just a reminder call. They didn't have a current phone number for me but However I stated to them. Do not call me again unless I am in foreclosure. late about 10days only

I have no agreement with a Private Investigator.

I have recieved at least 5 calls from 1-888-331-1437, and this is the first time they left an actual message.  Said his name was Terrance a private investigator with HP Locate, he referred to me by my actual name, and said that he had very important information for me, and that I needed to call him back within 24 hrs.  When he left a call back number for me, he first said the last 4 digits were 1437, he then repeated the number again, and said 1435.  I then looked up HP Locate on line and found this site.  WTF???  seriously???  people suck!

Just a got a call from 888-331-1435. A private investigator from HP Locate left a vm stating it was urgent I return their call, that they had very important information to pass along to me. I will call not call back.

My Bro-in Law is getting the calls from HP Locator looking for me, they told him they don't know me.  Is this legal?!

Got a phone call from HP Locate looking for family member. Her name was Susie. The number is 888-331-1438.

My Dad got a call from "Kayla" from 888-331-1437 which I called and got an Anthony who after identifying me ask me if my phone number was correct to which I replied how do you know that since I used someone else's phone and dialed *67 before 888-331-1437. then I ask if the call was being recorded. anthony said we record all phone calls. I told him I don't talk to people who record me when I have no way of recording them. Gave my address telling them to write me so I could keep a file on them and they could have a written statement from me in response that I would too have a copy of, and hung up. He called my friend right back which told him that she had heard me tell him not to use this phone number he tried to hide cause it wasn't his number and then ended the call.

Just received a call from 888-331-1438 and said that it was urgent.  They knew my SS # and my address.  I'm a nervous wreck!  I've just called my attorney.

We have been getting calls from HP LOCATORS all hours of he day and night on a phone number we JUST got that is PRIVATE, NON-PUBLISHED number, due to my husband's job, looking for me.  Ok, first, they should have never been able to contact this number due to its high security (it doesn't even come up on caller ID).  Second, they are calling during Hours in which they are not legally allowed to call.  Third, they are now calling cell phones, which is not allowed either.  Four, definitely not least or last, they are now calling my in-laws and neighbors from a home in which I have not lived at in over a year giving out private and financial information, such as partial SS#, DOB and etc.  OMG!!!!!  Being the responsible person I am, I contacted them, have contacted them SEVERAL times to find out what company is looking for me and why.  Found out it was AHMSI, the mortgage company I had TWO mortgage ago on a house I am no linger the owner of even.  Ugh.  Still getting the calls and still at all hours of the day and night.  Disturbing my 4 year olds sleep, not to mention harassing me to no end, further inflaming my disability with continued unrelenting stress, which is a factor that has aggravated my symptoms and issues to the point of being bed bound on some days with my doctor on the verge of admitting me to the hospital, like I have the time and/or money for that right now.  I plan to contact HP one last time today, if they do not cease these harassing calls immediately, I AM filing a lawsuit, my lawyer has already been notified and informed of the situation and is frothing at the mouth at the chance to go after them, and may do so anyways just on Principal.

They call your neighbors to humilate you.  Hoping your neighbors will get mad and tell you to make them stop. That way they are forcing you to call them back.   They will even call your employer.  I think it should be against the law.  Most of the time they are contacting people they are not even trying to collect from.  Like me I got a new number. Most likely the other owner of my number got tired and changed theirs.

They keep calling me, I just got this number. same message. I wanted to look them up online and found out its a scam collection agency contacting any number they can to locate people.  I just go this number, they are not even looking for me.  I wont answer my line phone either because I get charged for minutes for my phone.  they have my voice mail completly full. hp locate

Just got a call from this number on my home phone and on my cell phone, both at the exact same time!  No message left on the home phone.  Message on cell said they were an investigation agency and I should push a number to be connected with the client who hired them.  Will not call back.
