I believe he has a new alias now. I received a message from a Michael Philips. The number he used is 866-912-9222. He said he was forwarding my file to the DA's office for processing. I called and they said Cash Line is pressing civil and criminal charges against me for intentionally trying to defraud a financial institution. He said if I didn't pay within two hours, a sheriff would come and serve me with court papers. A week later, I received a message from a Sharon Draper, supposedly an officer at my county's sheriff's office. She said there were charges filed against my SSN ending in **** and someone would be coming out to my place of residence shortly to detain me for 24-48 hours. I tried to send a cease and desist letter certified but the address they gave me was false. When I called back to get a real address, someone by the name of Warren Garfield answered and played dumb, said he had no idea what/who I was talking about and refused to give me a physical address. I also filed a complaint with http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Seems like this scam has been going on for over a year. Does anyone know if there is an active investigation on this?

Hi! Be careful.  I cannot prove this, but I just know Jack Foley has people working for him.  Uneducated people at best.  They do not even know what they are doing.  My lawyer is currently investigating a phone number that I received from an Alvin Rodgers.  He told me I would be behind bars in 6 months which is completely UNTRUE. Alvin does not even know what a cease and assist act is.  If he was REALLY doing what he said he was, he would know the terms I was using.  He just got flustered and kept repeating himself. I strongly urge everyone to learn or print a copt a copy of the fair debt practices law or just about in general.  Noone can just sue you.  You need a copy of the contract, they can cease to call you if you request or THEY can get sued, know your rights and then repeat them to the person on the other end of the call.  If they know what you are talking about, they will stop, if not, it's fraud.  That simple. I reported Alvin and Jack Foley to the FTC, BBB, and FBI.  I thought I was original but it turns out they both have been reportd to all three LOL!  My lawyer said that nothing Alvin was saying made sense.  My cell phone has been tapped now if either one of them call me.  I want to say I am sorry for the people that lost money.  I do not know how these POS's and losers sleep at night, but they will have to contend with God someday.  Chin up to all victims.  Praying for you.  THey know they are not good people and that is what will really eat at them.  They are not fooling anyone and obviously do not have the skills to land any other job.

Received a call from Jack Foley on voicemail today.  He used 888-210-9728.  The person he is looking for has the same first initial and last name as mine, so they probably got my number from the phone company listing.  Our landline is only listed under my first initial, not my first name or middle initial.  We have been getting these calls for several years from various agencies.  This may be a legitimate debt that is owed but we have no connection with this person and do not know anyone by this name.  It appears that the debt keeps getting sold from one collection agency to another.  We have even received a letter from what seemed to be a legitimate local attorney. The call today was the most detailed and the first one that left a name (Jack Foley) of who to call.  He used my son's name and said that this person owed money and lawsuits would be filed this week.  He was professional on the voicemail.  He just wanted a number for this person or to have us pass along a message to call Jack.  Some of the prior calls from what seemed to be other agencies had threatened to have the sheriff come by, but "Jackl" did not say that in the message.  My thanks to everyone here for listing information about Jack Foley here so that I know to not bother returning the call and getting further mixed up in this mess.

I talked to him today and told him i was filing bankruptcy and he said that would not  matter they are going to file the papers withink 48 hours... i asked hime to email me the documents they were using to "file" and have not received anything yet... i believe I will need to get a bankruptcy attorney instead of trying to do this myself... does anyone know a good attorney for bankrupcy in Orange County California

Jack foley from 888-334-4635 @ 11:40a EST 4/3/14 to my place of employment and personal cell phone.  Stated I had a case #E9063 that I was being brought up ion criminal charges against me for theft, attempt to defraud, etc.  Left message that it was urgent that I contact his office immediately to see if anything between both parties could or if any be resolved.

I received calls from Jack Foley today. I recently filed bankruptcy and when I told him this he insisted that it didn't matter and that if I didn't pay he would file criminal charges with my local jurisdiction. I contacted my attorney who stated that this is a scam as the creditor he claimed to be working for is not on the list of creditors exempt from bankruptcy. When I told Jack Foley that he would need to contact my attorney he said "well, good luck I am filing with your local jurisdiction" and then hung up. This guy is trying to scare you into paying money. Block this number.

I got a call from Jack Foley saying that they received a claim from a company and will have to go to court and the sheriff's department will also receive a record of this. I called him back and he was very mean and demand payment from a loan that was taken out. I googled his name prior to calling back and told him that he is a scam artist and to never call back. This was last November and haven't heard back.

So I've also got calls from jack foley. All I did was ask him information on my "debt" . He.called me bad names told me I was a thief.and that he was going to throw me in jail fir non payment of a debt he can't provide any information for . I don't understand if u work for this company why u won't give me info. He has called my family members. Look at abc news investigations his voice is on the video first call I believe. I told him about it and now he won't answer my calls anymore.  Total fraud jack foley lies can't even provide me an address to his business....n oh ya when I asked to talk to manger he said he is owner Idk all fishy....

WOW!  The State's Attorney has zero record as well.  I have retained my lawyer and the FTC will contact them.  I am ready my lawyer if Jack Foley goes any further.  I think it's hilarious he called someone whose family ACTUALLY owns a collection agency and knows what they are doing.  :)

I have also received calls from him.  Nothing he said sounds legal, and I have checked with my lawyer.  I have reported him to the FTC and the Cash Line is now aware of him.  This is a definite scam.  My bank is also keeping tabs on him and I have reported him to the FBI.  I have an investigator on the case currently.  Thank you everyone for your help.  I wonder if his mother talks to him?  They must all be ashamed of him.  He definitely does not sound educated and I know that many times these people can only do this for a living.  I have also contacted my local police department.  I have been investigating him from the moment he called.  The Cash Line is aware of his name and I sent them documentation, so if he calls regarding that, please let the cash line know.  Know your rights with debt.  Any lawyer will help you.  I have submitted his information to several different offices including my state's attorney.  Take Care All!  

I received a call from Jack Foley. He was very hostile. He said that I owe money to Cash Line. He threatened me with jail time. When I told him he was a fraud he became very angry, yelling at saying that I was stupid and didn't know anything. I hung up on him. I searched the number and found here. I called him back and advised him I reported him. He immediately hung up on me.

Received a call from a "Jack Foley"... He has threatened law suits and jail time. At first I was terrified... Then the more we tried discussing things., the more it sound fake so I googled the number and it brought me here. THANK GOODNESS.!!! I would have been outta $3,000. So I never returned his call.., now he just called me less than an hour ago saying he has contacted my local sheriff's dept and they will be coming to get and that I should get to see the judge in the morning. Im so irritated with liar.. He needs to be stopped.

Jack Foley called the biz I manage this afternoon & yesterday. His message yesterday was vague, but the message he left today was obviously not legitimate. I am aware of third party collections laws under the Fair Debt & Collections Practices Act & the message "Jack Foley" left was a little too detailed to be believable. He was asking for a previous employee of the company & I was trying to decide whether or not to contact her w the message. Well, certainly it would be nice of me to let her know there is a scammer after her.
Look people, if someone you have never heard of says you owe them money, ask them to send you a statement in the mail AND google reviews of the company to see if any complaints were made against them & posts as such will pop up. There are legitimate companies with names close to United Financial Bureau, that is why the scammer is using this name. Also, a legitimate company is not going to tell you the only option for payment is western union. They want western union because once the funds change hands, the consumer has no rights to get the money back.
Don't be stupid, people!!! This scam must be working for it to still be occurring & I promise you it is not fun trying to get money from people even when they really owe you, so please be aware. Seems like this scam targets people who may have debt or past bills or have inquired about debt assistance.

This Jack Foley is a total fraud. He's picked the wrong person to contact as my family owns a collection agency and everything he is saying and doing is illegal. I have excellent credit, and if you've never received a letter of intent, providing case number, the debtor, total owed, date of offence etc. IT'S A SCAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish the sob would show his face to me, I would be the last thing he saw. This is out right theft and it's a shame so many people buy into these tactics out of fear. If you are a wise consumer you already know what's on your credit reports trust the report over a phone call any day.

He's just a scamming fraud. His threats of arrest prove it. It's just that simple. Learn of your rights under the FDCPA. It's easy. Just Google it.

He's a scam.  Isn't Jack Foley a fictional character in a movie? I've heard that name before.  N-Ewhoo, he called, I told him not to call anymore so we'll what happens.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
