Debt Collector
I have just dealt with "Paul Nixon".  He was harrassing my sister in another state.  When I asked him who he worked for he told me that he would continue to call my sister.  I informed him of the FCRA and told him that I was looking his phone number up online.  When I did, while still talking to him, I found this and other sites complaining of him.  I informed him of this and he hung up on me.  I originally was willing to talk to the company that I supposedly owed and he told me that he was the company.  He then tried to call my sister again while I was on the phone to her and she told me that he called from a different number.  Not a collection agency.  Hang up!

Woman named Christy or Christine keeps calling me and screaming that there is legal allegations against me  and that I need to pay her so much money to get this taken care of. This is a scam! She has a foriegn accent that is hard to understand and when you call her bluff, she screams and cusses you. I work in the fraud Dept at a bank and this is a well known scam that the FBI and Secret Service are both aware of. Do NOT fall for this.

Got a phone call from a "PAUL NIXON WHITE" advising that there is legal alegation on my name & social security #. However, he referenced my maiden name. I knew it was a scam but this is the 2nd call I've received in the past 6 months. Is there any legal action I can take against this company?

I get the same phone calls at least 1-2 times a week but from a male caller. I called back once & was asked that I pay $250 (which I didn't do). I knew immediately when I asked for the mailing address & that a bill be sent to me but was given the run around. Nonetheless, the calls area annoying. Any advise on how to get them to stop?

Not a very professional post, Mr. Lloyds. I've certainly got "guts" & have called but was advised by my local law enforcement agency that this is definitely a scam.

Richard,
Thank you so much. I've reported the phone # to the FTC & my local law enforcement agency. I will certainly call them back & try to get more information & luckily nothing is showing on my credit report. I appreciate the advice.

This man ,  with a foreign accent, called my mother's house looking for me. She told him I didn't live there.  He demanded to know my contact information saying that I had written some fraudulent electronic checks and listed her as a reference. When she told him she would NOT give out my information and he would have to leave his name and number and she would give it to me he began to threaten her.  He told her that he would prosecute HER for these checks because she was just as guilty being listed as a reference. She said she knew nothing about any checks and did not give anybody permission to list her as a reference on anything. She eventually got his phone number, 888-336-5999, but he did not give a name. When she told me the first thing I did was google the phone number because I knew I didn't have anything to do with fraudulent checks and that's when I found out I was attempting to be scammed.  I called the number and when I demanded to know who this was, in some colorful language, he hung up on me. When I called back some one different answered the phone. When I again demanded to know who the $#@# this was and why where they calling my elderly mother and scaring her they still tried to convince me I owed a debt and they would call my mother back and tell her I was taking responsibility for this. Then I lost it and cursed this man up one side and down the other. He began yelling and cursing me back. Real professional,  huh?  It wasn't until after I hung up that I realized he didn't even know who I was. I never gave my name and he never asked. So how did he know I owed anything or who my mother was? I'm glad I did my research before I called them. I was informed and he had no chance of scamming me out of anything.

Someone named Justin or Jason is now threathing to call my supervisor and than asked me for the fax # to my job. Guess he will try to call my supervisor tomorrow to get this info. Boy is he going to get a ear full from her. Tonight he told me " I was just trying to cover my a**", because I won't agree to a payment arrangement of $200 (which I don't have). I know this is about a payday loan, but he won't tell me from which company, when the loan was taken or how much the orginal loan was for. I had three last year and paid all thru payment arrangements. As the consumer are we not entitled to this information before we make any consent to payment? I don't know what their tactics are in his country, but in this country, debt collector's do not speak to or threaten any consumer. It's against the law. They could be sued for poor practice and violation of a consumer's right to privacy.
Another thing I don't understand is how they can say we've broken any law of fraud. I never gave false information and they were able to contact me. I'm sure I paid them more in interest than the loan was worth.

Someone from this number keeps calling and threatening me.  It is horrible and I don't know how to get them to stop.  I know they are scammers, but they are now calling my work and they will not stop!  They wanted to talk to my manager and I refused to let them.  They called back probably 10 more times until they finally got to talk to someone.  He says his name is Jason Hernadez, but he sounds like he is from India and the connection is horrible.  I can barely hear them.  He has also used the name of Dennis Tyme before too.  They want me to fax them my credit card info and give them authorization to take up to $875.00.  They say I owe a payday loan company (which I don't) and they refuse to give me info about who they are supposedly collecting for.  Do they think I'm stupid?!?  He also told me they are calling from a courthouse in California.

How do I get these people to quit?

I have gotten the same call and from other phone numbers also and they are the ones that do not have the guts, because they are not even in the country.  I was thinking of reporting them also but didn't know what could be done because I really do not think they are in the country even though they get local numbers.  I got to the point where I just call them back and block my number and harrass them or tell them I am calling from a law firm, they do not like that.  Everytime I call them they start swearing at me and saying things that are not allowed ( I work in collections so I know what can and can not be said).  They will also post on these websites to make their company look like its legit.  Im sorry but when someone with a name like Paul calls and you can't understand a word they are saying thats the first clue.

I have given people I know their phone number and have them call and harrass them, I haven't heard from them for about 2-3 weeks now.  Just make sure you have your friends or family block their number.  I can play their game to :-) .  I know it probably won't last long and they will call back with a different name.

It's amazing when I do call back and ask for proof of this so called loan I do not get it (a legit company would send).  It is also amazing that everytime I call back and ask for what the amount is, it is always a different amount ( a legit company would have the correct and same information) and when I say that I get hung up on or when I say I am calling from an attorney's office and say that my client was given a different amount the person on the other end doesn't know what to say and hangs up.  Hmmmmmmm isn't that something.

This is definetly a scam.  I have dealt with these people before earlier this year.  Some online company either had a LARGE security breach or sold your information to these people. They called my job again today and luckily everyone there already knows they are full of s**t! I tried calling them back and I even blocked my NEW cell number and they somehow were able to call it back.  So now I have blocked this number from calling my cell (verizon has this spam block feature).

I have had the same people call me but i got called from like 4 different numbers one was 888-336-5999 and 0000 and 1-877-630-0693 and also no number calls. the mans name is Robert Davis, has an american name but like all others an Indian accent. This man had all my info like ssn, address, email, and relatives numbers and names. He said that there was a legal allegations against me and was being sued for the  amount of $5000 and that it was a payday loan that wasn't payed off. I have been through this before but didn't relive it was a fake until now, when the individual wanted me to fax him a statement stating that i want to take care of this asap and i will not fight this in present or future. If you get any calls from these numbers or and unavailable call ignore for your safety. If anyone has any advice to give me please reply to me, because i have no idea what to do with my situation. And after looking at what others has posted talking about the FBI has been notified about this. Please let me know what to do. Thank You and Be Smart Protect Your Identity
