I have received this call about 4 times in 2 days. Asks for owner by first name. I ask purpose and get a hang up. Got another while typing this but I ignored it.

Called on a business line (and one we give to people who we don't want us calling our private line. I got to the phone just as the answering machine picked up. (music and a canned voice: "we're sorry for the delay" then) "Can I speak with <my first and last name>, please." He hung up within about a second as I considered picking up.

7-2-08: Got a call from 888-343-7048. Called and was redirected to 10-15-15-800 which, of course, never answered.

Call repeatedly, appear on caller ID as "unknown caller," leave no message when phone goes unanswered. Share Group lists itself online (at www.sharegroup.com) as "the premiere full-service direct marketing firm serving the following organizations: Non-profit organizations, Advocacy groups, Colleges and Universities, Political Campaigns and Committees, Charities, Hospitals and Medical Centers, Public Broadcasting Companies, Religious Organizations."

Got a call from 888-743-7048, Asked: Is this M---. I said who's calling; they hung up. Called number back...got Share Group Complaint Line voice mail. Anyone know is this legit?

I have gotten 2 phone calls from 1-888-811-2482. They don't leave a message. When I called the number, I got the same "Thank you for calling the Share Group complaint line."

I had the same experience Chip describes. I've received a few such calls ("called, didn't leave a message") from this number recently. Googled Share Group and found this organization, which seems to be a fundraising group? www.sharegroup.com

Didn't leave a message, when I called back the number, got message saying "This is the Share Group Complaint Line" and "Leave a Message at the Tone".
