HSBC Bank Nevada Discover Card Network Affiliate.

Just got a call... No reply when answered.. does nyone know this? I applied for HSBC card a couple of days ago..

Discovercard is the caller from 888-347-3205..they have called me several times of the last few days. I didn't apply but someone has gotten my personal info and applied, they were calling to verify the application, but had some wrong info. When I told them I didn't apply they cancelled the app and directed me to the fraud dept.

I just got a call on my cell phone from someone claiming to be from the Loudoun County Commonwealth?s Attorney-Check Enforcement Program. They left a message with this PH#. I was suspicious because I haven't had any checks in over 4 years.
When I googled the Loudoun County Commonwealth?s Attorney Check Enforcement Program I found a web site(hotchecks.net/loudoun). This is causing me to worry even more because any government program would have a .gov web site.
I found that Loudoun County is in Virginia; I live in Utah. I'm going to talk to my bank to make sure all my bases are covered. Sounds hinky to me.

They've called me about 20 times already. I don't pick up when I don't know the number, so I haven't talked to them. I'm going to try picking up next time and then report them to my cell phone provider if they will not stop calling me. Maybe I can block the number or something.

It was Discover calling about an application.  Didn't give me a hard time or anything.

Yeah I just opened a Discover Credit Card and it was them just verifying info about my account. I told them nothing they already had the info,I just said yes or no.

Caller is Discovercard, they were calling on a credit application that I didn't apply for. I have been called 2 x by them.

yes, this is happening to me too. it calls at least once a day around the same time. leaves no message. very annoying. how do you get them to stop??/

ya they wont stop calling me it is somthing to do with a discoverr card i ignore it and they call right back then i ignore that then about a couple of hours later they call again

Found a missed call on my cell phone from this number at 6:23 PM yesterday.

Tried to call it back at 8:02 PM, to get an automated message: "The department that you've reached is currently closed. Please try your call again during normal business hours *click*"

We provide a cell phone for one of our employees.  This number appeared on our statement.  They aren't only calling homes, they also have cell numbers.

Yes, it is Discover Card.  I called back the number today 8/24/07.

I called this number.  Currently (08/10/07) it is Discover Card!

this # started me calling me about 3 months ago and harassed me about an account that was closed!  They said they were the company they were calling me about - and then asked me what i would i would do to get rid of the debt.  i hung up on them several times; so i called the company they were "claiming" i owed money to.  This company agreed with me; I DID NOT owe them money - in fact my account had been CLOSED!!!!!  I in turned found the # on the internet to call them back and they said I was harassing them and that I did owe the money and if I did not pay, "bad things" would happen to me and my family (but i don't have any living family!!!).  They are called Allied Interstate (they are a 3rd party collections agency) and they purchase your information from people who are selling it to the highest bidder.  If they call you, start asking them questions - they will soon hang up - OR you can tell them you will report them to the BBB and to the Federal Trade Commission; that stopped the calles for a few months.  The bad thing is; they started calling me again tonight and harassing me again - for the SAME company in which the account is closed on (and I have a letter from the company proving it is closed).  They are saying i now owe almost double what I owed initially.  I am not sure what to do now, since my apparent attempts to get them to stop harassing me have failed.

Had a missed call from this number at 8:20 a.m.  I just opened a credit account with a local music store and was worried it might be them calling with a problem but when i looked up the number i found this site with a bunch of pissed off people so i probably wont be calling them back.

Stop and think for a minute,..
There are people actually calling my home,and desperately trying to extract my personal information to use for whatever evil there involved in.
It pisses me off to no extent reading how people in their own homes, are in fear of who's calling them, who's on the other end, and constantly watching their caller ID. These scam artists have made YOUR HOME into their workplace.
...-These people,like so many others misusing our new technology, have no spine,no spine at all, its called COWARDICE.-cowards in fear of exposure.
anyway, dont take their s***, its your phone, its your privacy, you can get as nasty as you want on YOUR PHONE dont take any s*** from anyone calling your home and threatening your wellbeing...if you can find them, -bring a baseball bat.
