Now this 888 number is on spam SCAM emails I get every day (different email host each time) trying to sell domain names vaguely related to one I own, The name prior to the @ symbol of the email address is "MICHAEL". He offers to sell and help host some domain name, but upon check does not himself own it. Full scam, probably to gain access to one's true website and/or PC.and money.  

Why doesn't "Call Type" below offer something more serious than 'prank' when it's clearly a professional criminal's scam effort?

I just got a very odd call. On my caller ID, it said private caller. The caller had a VERY thick Asian/Indian accent. He was telling me that he is from the technical department of the windows computer and the past few days I have run into error messages and other issues and might be infected with "infections". When I said I have had no such issues and would like a number to call back because A I was having a very difficult time understanding him and I wanted to validate his claim, he transferred me to his "supervisor". The supervisor also had a very thick distinct Indian (from India) accent. He told me he was calling from the technical department of the windows computer (which I don't have its an HP, although I understand windows is my operating system) and that he was located in Cal. He then told me that my computer sent these message to them and was trying to direct me to how to fix it. They mentioned email and banking. I do NOT do any banking on my computer. Also was told my computer would crash. After multiple times asking for a phone number, he gave me this one. This happened at around 11am on 11/1/13.

Just got a call from this number saying my microsoft internet explorer is using wasteful data and that it needs to be upgraded & may have virus. I told him i dont own a computer, just use one at work. How did you get my phone #?  He was speechless..

Just got a call from these a****oles.  Claimed that I had a problem with windows, etc.  When I answered the phone, some fine Indian fellow said "How are you?" I said Good.  Who are you and how can I help you?  This is where the scam came in.  I asked to speak with a supervisor, and got a slew of obscenities.  F*** you and your mother, you're white...All white people are f**gots etc, etc, etc.  I told him to go f*** his camel and hung up on him.

Just received a phone call from this number..  As I have call display I did not answer this phone call.  Beware! Scam!

I got this call today -- told the guy he was pulling a scam.  Now I wish I'd been able to report him.  It was all about "my" computer with errors and he'd like to help me.  I'm SURE he would!

Got a call from them telling me they are Windows Repsand if they don't take control of my computer i will not be able to send or recieve e mail after today . I told them I do not do business with unknowen callers and hung up .

Just received a call from this number at 6:30 - freaking - am. Said something about my Windows operating system being attacked from an outside source, problem is I use a Mac. I threatened to call the the police; they hung up!

I got a call from "Rachel Winch" at this number and when I asked for the company's name she told me it was First Result from Seattle. She said I had a problem with my computer and when I asked to call her back she gave me this number 1-866-682-0649, needless to say I haven't bothered.

I had read about it on another site and when I saw the # on caller ID I ansewered it ' MICROSOFT TECH SUPPORT HOW MANY I ADDRESS YOUR ISSUES " all I got was a loud CLICK

received a call(s) at same #. wanting computer info. Told them didn't have a computer & that stopped the calls. They hang up quick if u start asking them questions.  They get lists from multiple sources, and call block does not work. (I think they use that list as a phone out list). Hang up time.

I just got a call from this # saying my pc was sending them errors and it could crash. They also said someone was hacked in using it. They asked if I ever did banking online and when I said no they hung up! They're definitely trying to hack in to get banking info!!!

The person calling refuses to give me his name but says it is urgent that I give him access to my computer because my Microsoft system is being bombarded by malicious viruses.  It is not the first time this happens and I can't get rid of the person on the phone.

East Indian accent- error messages from my computer, blah blah...I said, "I think this is a scam," and hung up. They've called before several times. Unfortunately, with a serious illness in the family, it's not possible to ignore all the unknown calls right now.

I just got a call from this number, there was some music...  I was expecting to hear I won something but then it just hung up on me.

Please do something about this scam, they have been calling non stop.

We got a call this morning at 6:30am. My wife answered and thought they were trying to "sell" us a loan' She gave him $hit for calling so early and asked where he was from. He promptly hung up on her.

have asked them not to call me and remove me from their calling list and they just keep calling and argue when I ask them to remove me, need to report them for harassment according to my cell phone company

Seem this is from local scam artist...calls from India call center had been stop.
Look like they got the voters-list..it's illegal to obtain such document, not to say to use it for other purposes.

East Indian accented man started talking about being from Windows and I was all "Eff you, you scammer a***ole!" And I hung up.

Got a call from this number today.  She told me she was from windows and there is malicious software in my computer in a folder dsl (something or other).  I asked how she knew and she answered that a report was sent from my computer.  I told her that I am going to record this so my husband can know and expected her to hang up...she didn't.  She also left me a number that my husband can call back as I told her he is better at this sort of thing.... 1-866-682-0649 and her name is Rachel.  I have not called it back yet but anyone who wants to call and harrass them...here you go!

Got a call from this number this morning.  I answered by saying "Hello" and waited. There was a long enough pause that I was about to hang up. Then finally I get this barely understandable Asian person saying "Hello" to me. They always sound lost or, they seem to expect us to say something more before they say "Hello"

The one calling starts the BS and says, "We have noticed that you are having a problem with your Windows machine. I said, "No, that can't be" and the caller said that their equipment indicated that I did have a problem with my Windows machine. I again told him/her that, that was "impossible ...because I have a Mac"

I love doing that with these slimy pieces of crap!

Just received a call from this number. I ended up having a good laugh at him after he threatened me with the RCMP turning up at the door. Asked him where can I get a good price on a new computer, Best Buy or Future Shop. He told me to f£?& off. I think I ended up getting a Jihad put on me.

I had call from that number. I asked him what his number was and at first he stumbled a bit and then gave me a number that was something like 866-682-0640 (last two digits may be wrong). I asked him the name of his company - Hard to understand his English, but it was something like DC Fastfix. Said he was in Wilmington, Delaware. I played a long for a while. He wanted me to turn on my computer (it was on) and then find the keyboard! Then find the Windows key (I told him I didn't have one) That seemed to floor him and he hung up!

Too bad these guys get sucked into doing this type of work. I guess it's the only work they can find.

I led the poor guy on for 20 minutes, fully aware of the scam since I work in IT.  I finally gave him $hit and he just hung up. That was 20 minutes that he won't be spending scamming someone else!  I actually tried to call back so I could 'scam' more people but sadly it didn't connect. I could do that all day... :D

I just received the THIRD call from these people in the past year. Fortunately it was dead air, so I hung up completely.
There was an article in the paper regarding Overseas Companies calling Canada and have been fined for ignoring the Canadian Do Not Call List.  They mentioned several companies and I think this was one of them, so, report them.  It's free and won't hurt to try.
