There was a man who was breathing really heavy and said he was goin to serve me papers. I called the # he left on the voicemail and when calling it it disconnected me several times. F them!!!

I got a message from a guy today trying to sound real stern that he was letting me know he was going to serve me papers for a civil lawsuit on Friday and if I waned info on the case before that I could call this number that has been mentioned. People that serve you papers don't tell you when they are coming!!! HAHA I called the number and from this thread it appears to be a debt collector called Elmwood Associates....What a sorry tactic!

I got a call from a guy saying that he was going to serve me.  I suspected that this was a scam so I called the company.  I asked him for the address and he gave me a PO Box.  I told him that I needed a physical address as I was going to have the fraud division in their city to verify this company for me as I live across the country. He said that he could not give me the physical address because one of the workers there was afraid for her exhusband to find her, and it would be too dangerous to give it out to anyone.  I knew for a fact it was a scam.  What legitimate company would withhold something like an address?

Just ignore these idiots. These are debt collectors using ILLEGAL debt collection practices. They have no intention of suing of you and nobody is going to show up with papers. This is a common scam used to scare you to give the information to get money out of you and/or reset the collection time clock on an old debt. They know they can't sue you because they have no proof of debt and are likely trying to collect on a debt that is well past the statute of limitations for legally collecting, and they know it.

Your best bet is to IGNORE THEM.

If you have a debt that you owe and want to make it right, contact the original creditor and pay THEM. Do dot deal with these scumbag collectors.

This caller called for the first time today.

I Got a call from 888-352-9534 saying he has documents to bring me. He said he was going to come to my work or home and that I needed to be available to sign for these papers. My friend had similar calls about her debt, she recommended I call 855-672-1988 and talk to this guy named Chris, if I want to get this situation resolved.

have you heard from them and did they ever serve you or make you go to court?  who are they

So i guess i have court, no on showed up to my job....called this number told me i owe money, wanted my credit card information....scam!
