Well this is still going on. I received a msg with area code from Massachusetts on my cell. They left the 888 number and said it was a contact number. Just to let anybody near by know I live in Nova Scotia,Canada. Im glad I typed the number into google and found this site.

I also got a call from 888-362-8883 it was Heather saying she recieved some documents pending to be filed against my name and SSN..number, I was at  work  it was left on my home A. M,  for the first five calls. I have the old fashioned A.M.that everyone can hear, needless to say my 12 year was home alone and scared. The tone of Heather's voice was very loud & dramatic. You would have thought someone had just got murdered. The calls continue everyday even after I said wrong numbe & tried to find out the name of the company. I ask her to stop calling many times. I have two calls recorded, Had to turn off my answering machine because of my latch key child. On two occasions when I got home from work my son was horrified wanting to know what was going on. How do I stop this woman from calling? Help

they are trying to tell me the irs filed a 1099-c on my for a debt that was 20 years and wasn't even mine.... i didn't even open up the account and that has been in my file for years and they know that.  it came from number 888-362-8883 from a mrs. baker.....

Mr. Davis ... called from a local exchange ... didn't answer ... left a message about an URGENT matter ... trying to sound like a cop or something.  Its all crap, not buying it ... thanks to block numbers on my iPhone, done and done.  SCAM!  left a message for a callback at the same number above.

This was a call from Mr. Davis so I called back and they would not to tell me who they were so I said I don't know who there calling for

Thanks for all the posts! I had a voicemail from a "Mr. Watkins" when I got home from work today, saying they had this number as a contact for "something in their office". They said it was urgent to call back 888-362-8883. Sounded fishy, as I have no 'debts' owed or overdue. I had no plans to call back, but figured I'd add to the posts so people can be aware. Thanks again!

Got a phone call from local 720-545-2942 that I let go to VM. Said it was Mr. Watkins and that my phone number was a contact for an urgent matter at there office -- Yada yada yada -- Like the others posted here. I blocked the local number and did not call back.

got a stern message from this number for a return call  with no information or what the call is about,I wont be calling , if he cant even say where he called from.

I just got a message from a number 951 824 8302...left a a message saying call the number 888 362 8883. Well, I am smarter that them not to call back. I have a very good credit never late on my payment....so there is no way I owe any company any money. He said he is Mr. Watkins and my number is the contact number showing on a MATT BERNAR office.

Very similar!!!  I received a voice message this morning from 706-955-0812 (my area) regarding a legal matter.  I had currently no open accounts besides my home bills therefore I knew something was wrong.  The messages stated to call 1-888-362-8883.  I called and a guy (Mr. Duca) said he was calling regarding a legal matter and wanted to verify who I was before telling me who he was.  I told him I would not until he give me a name of the company at least and why he was calling.  It was suspicious that he wouldn't tell me anything.  He stated it was illegal to do that and I told him to play games with someone else and hung up.  I googled the 888# and found out it is a scam.  I called him back immediately and told him what I found out and he immediately began arguing with me like he was someone in the street.  He asked if I will believe what is on google vs him.  He said I will believe it when I am served papers.  He still couldn't tell me what it was about.  It confirmed that it was a scam bc a professional would keep it professional.  He hung up on me and I called back 5 min later and some woman who sounded as if she just woke up answered saying HELLO as if she was strung out on something.  I honestly believe this is a scam.

-and that's why you don't return calls to numbers you don't know. Had you answered the call from a 1-900 number, you'd have gotten a surprise on your bill.

I just recieved a call from a 900 number but I didn't answer it. A Mr. Davis left a voicemail stating my number was listed as a contact number for their office, but he didn't state which office he was calling from or anything. It all seemed very suspicious. I will not be returning his call. The number he left was 888-362-8883.

Same as all the other posts left here! VM with the message "this is the contact number we have" "it's very important that you call us back right away" "urgent business matter", etc... Same call back number 888-362-8883. Thanks for all the info here, we'll be sure to NOT call them back!

Yep, got a VM from "Ms. Baker" wanting me to return a call to 888-362-8883. I thought it was odd that she didn't list a company name especially since it "was such an urgent matter and my number was a reference number." Another reason I thought it was odd was that I only give out my cell number to friends, EVERYONE else gets my home as it has caller ID ALL THE TIME.

Typed it into Google and voila, all of you lovely people have saved me some time and an irritating conversation as it would seem. THANK YOU!!!!

Just received a call from a Miss Baker...did not say who she was calling for, or where she was calling from left the 888-362-8883 on my voicemail urgent business matter, but the number that came across the id was 202-683-8402.

Message from Mr Watkins saying this was a contact number given them.  Did not call him back. Nothing wrong with my credit!  Plenty of negative reports on 8883628883!

got a call today from this cell # 559-777-6419. the caller referred to herself as ms. baker. she said she had something urgent regarding a matter and gave a call back number as 888-362-8883. did not return their call as there is a ms baker in many calls from the 888 #. cell phone is listed from fresno, ca.

Mr. Davis called. I left a message back telling him he needs 2 leave me a message back as to what the call is regarding. Still waiting on a call back.

Got a VM on my cell phone from 801-657-5921. They left no name just began with "We have this number as a point of contact. It is urgent that you return this call to 888-362-8883. Again it is urgent that you return this call concerning an important business matter."

It's caught my attention because there was no company mentioned nor reason for the call. They have also called before, a couple of times over the past couple of weeks.  I also don't know anyone at at 801 area code.

Before returning the call I typed in 888-362-8883 into the Google search engine and be hold up pops this page of scams from this number. THANKS!!  I will not be calling this number back.

From a Mr.Watkins.Sane BS as all others report.I called back-some girl(Ashley)said he was ou for lunch and would take a message.I asked for the name of the company.She said NR Agency,I asked if they were a collection agency,she hung up.I used Phone Tray and blocked their #.

I have received several calls from this number, but have never returned the call because they do not say who they are with.  Please stop these people from calling cell phones.  Those of us that have pre-paid phones can not afford to contiune receiving these types of calls

Years ago I got into trouble with a credit card. Once a payment was late my interest rate jumped to 27.99%. At that point I was unable to make even the minimum payment.  After many attempts to work something out with the credit card company I just gave up and never made another payment.  I'm not proud of this, but this is what happened, and then the calls began from several collection agencies.  With much research I found that once a debt has been written off by the original lender the damage is done.  Your credit report will report this as a write off and stay with you for seven years.  As if that isn't bad enought many of these debit recovery companies buy these bad debts for next to nothing and then they try to collect.  Do NOT pay these companies, you have already taken the hit on the original debt and it will NOT be cleared from your credit report after you pay one of these companies. NEVER respond in any way to one of these calls.  These are not reputable companies!

Got a call from 210-797-3079, from a Mr. Davis saying that my number was listed as a contact number and that I should call imediately  to this number, 888-362-8883. i think everyone is right this is a scam!!!

I have received two calls from this number-first stated they had important papers that needed my attention but refused to give me the company name or information unless I gave them last 4 ss# digits and I refused thot I was done-but no they called back again 3 weeks later stated they had action pending but need my last 4 ss# digits and did give company name of RA associates but refused any other information-they are unprofessional easly rattled and quick to hang up under pressureI hope they are shut down-they are scary in thinking what they could get out of those that are slower to react to thses calls.

I got two phone calls, today and yesterday. The first was from 513-322-4302 and the second was from 513-322-4305. Both calls said they were from "Mrs.Baker" and that she has something VERY important regarding me in her "office." Very sketchy. It then gave the number 888 number to call.

Received a call from Ms. Baker  with a caller id number of 901-309-300-3899 to return her call at 888-362-8883 stating that my cell number was listed as a point of contact for a matter in their office no other information give, not even a company reference.  She further states it is important that I return the call. N-O-T. Since she say at least what company/matter she represented, i consider it a MUTE point to call back.

They called me too and immediatley I googled the number and now I see this is a huge scam. Thanks goodness for internet because I was almost scammed by something like this before.

Voicemail from (401)400-8535. Woman stating her name was Miss Baker said it was "extremely urgent" that I call back but gave the call back number as (888)362-8883. The (401) number rang once and was picked up by a machine whereas at the (888) number, a woman picked up and said, "Can I help you?" No identification of her name or the company's name on either phone number.

Left as a callback number for a call from Level 3 Communications' number 313-263-4046. Looks like the scam has branched out to employ a call center? 313 is a Detroit number, though 'Mrs. Baker' sounded vaguely Southern to me.

Same as other notes, recieved call from my local area code left vm from a "MRS. BAKER" Called the local number back not the 888...and male picked up the phone and asked for my number and they were looking for a "Stephen"  Had my number since 97 so no stephen here and asked they take number of their list
