A Brett Matuny left several voice messages after I disputed a debt collection attempt by D&S Limited. In none of the messages, did he identify his company. I sent a "cease and desist" contact letter to D&S Limited and the phone calls stopped. D&S never provided proof of the debt.

His name is Jan Matuny.  He works for D&S, Ltd. in Las Vegas.  D&S, Ltd. corporate headquarters is located in Texas.  Mr. Matuny is a professional poker player and debt collector.

I have same type of story as most of you.  I reported him to the FTC    :-)

This guy just called our company and sent over 3 invoices from 3 years ago claiming they are owed to a prior vendor.  After looking over these, they are clearly fradluent as they are labeled as "Debit Memo's" and when we called the number for inquiries, he answered "Hello."  This vendor is so large, they would never answer the phone this way.  We are going to report him to the police as clearly is trying to pull a scam on companies.

Guy named Brett Matooney (sp?) says he is referred to call, but doesn't say who and just leaves his office number.  Call the number back and it just goes to his voicemail, with no pertinant information other than his name.

Ditto on everyone's comments regarding the rude and desperate solicitation methods of Brett Matuny from D&S Limited, provider of third party collection services.  Our company also screens incoming calls closely and today, Mr. Matuny responded with his typical unprofessional antics.  He is an aggressive cold-caller who attempts to intimidate the switchboard personnel by verbally insulting them in a loud tone of voice in order to obtain the names and contact details of the Accounts Receivable employees and/or finance execs of our company so that he can further solicit his services.  He is one of the most unprofessional individuals we have dealt with over the last several years with this company.  Mr. Matuny claimed to be responding to a reference provided by one of our current vendors.  The caller ID shows Unknown, however his callback number is 888-363-3181.

Yeah, this Brett guy is a debt collector and he is rude just like everyone has said.  He has a voice that wants to intimidate you.  Don't let him; just simply hang up.

Same Guy-- Brett Matooney 1-888-363-3181   called my business who he said he got off of Google.  He is looking for someone I briefly knew in the past but is not even a friend or associate of mine.   Told him I didnt know how to find that person as I only knew him as an acquaintance thorough a friend and had no clue how to get in touch with him;  havent seen him in years.   Very rude.   Said he looked me up not only on Google but the Secretary of State's website ??!!  Tried to make him understand I am not affiliated with him.   I didnt even know his last name until "Brett" told it to me??!!!   Now he wont stop calling!  I honestly have no clue how he linked me with the person he is looking for--  I have no idea where he lives or how to get in touch with him!

This guy called my family looking for me.  never states he is trying to collect a bill, just that he had a referral from someone.  Real creep.  shouldn't harass family.

That address on Wheat Ridge Ln is his home address... not business.

In case you want to see what Brett Matuny looks like, here is his facebook page picture.  He is a slimeball.  He calls repetitively for the owner of my company, demands to speak with him, asks all kinds of personal questions and then when he doesn't get what he wants he resorts to name calling and bullying.

Brett, you might make some quick money bullying, but what goes around comes and I'd hate to be on your end of the Karma train.

same # same guy calling me... He's a debt collector

This same guy everyone is speaking of calls my office every other day asking for me and every day gets my voicemail. Pretends to be a customer or friend and when he finds out that he is transfered to voicemail system he calls back upset. He is very annoying and unprofessional in his attempts to reach out to people.

caller called business from 512-255-1636 left msg for a unknown person was to fax a document to a Bret Matooney last week but didnt received fax yet and asked they call 888-363-3181.  Have no clue who either party is except for the information on this site for the 888-363-3181 numb and Bret Matooney name.  Sounds like a bougas bill collector callin a business to find out employee information.

same guy or M.O. anyway... called stating extremely urgent he talk with me, wouldn't say who or what company he represented.  Called me at one business and states the urgency for a former business I had years earlier.  Rude as well.  I immediately did the search on google with name & number and saw the rest of these complaints.   I don't take kindly to harrassment in any form. I don't owe any bills for that company and haven't in a very very long time.  Not sure how he connected me to it after all these years.  Get a real job Brett Matuny @ 888*363*3181 whoever you are!

I just got the same call from Brett Matuny at 888-363-3181.  He was asking for someone at my company.  I usually screen calls, thats part of my job.  He began the conversation being rude by telling me he wasn't talking to me about anything. I wasn't even trying to talk to him about anything, just trying to see if it was business related so maybe I could help him.  Tryed to bully his way into getting a cell phone number for the person he was trying to reach, I told him I don't give out people cell phones unless they know who they are.  Long story short I called my boss and told him the guy was an A h""" to me on the phone.   My boss doesn't take kindly to people talking to me like that so I can't wait to hear back. Gave him the name and number.  FYI I don't take any bull form people on the phone Brett, better luck next time.

Just got another call from this 888-363-3181 phone number.  The caller says his name is Brett Matuny.  He is a bill collector.  He is trying to collect from me on an account that we closed out 4 years ago.  I called the company that he says he was collecting for, and was told that they know that we closed the account as was noted in writing by me when we sold that company.  I called the toll free number back today and a voice mail with Matunys name comes on.  I left a message that if I get any more harrassing phone call I was going to report him to the attorneys general office.

Received similar call about 20 minutes ago. Only to find out that another call was made to a buddy of mine asking to speak with me. We have nothing in common, no bills , no accounts ,no nothing. Where did he get our info from , where did he connect us by association and what exactly is he trying to find out? Called back the number and actually spoke with him. Said to be referred by a client of his but wish not to give their information nor who he is in the discussion , then proceeded to hang up. WTF ?

I am having the same caller.  Same exact situation.  If anyone know who he is, please let all of us know.

Let's say my name is Geronimo.

Guyed named Brett called the home of a relative of mine, where I lived years ago, asking for a "Keith" or if they knew a "Keith". Relative replied, "no".  The person then asked my relative if I Geronimo knew "Keith".  Relative was explained that they didnt know.  Really weird call, will reply again if more info is found.  If the person was looking for me they went around asking directly for me, the number showing on caller ID was 888.363.3181.  Toll Free numbers are used to mask the real location the call originates from

Guy calls giving this number but pretends to be a referal but first he didn't ask for my correct name.  I don't go by it but he did try to act like he was a buddy or something.  He is pretty clever.  I don't know who it is but he didn't give our full company name and if someone was refered they would ask for something else so I know it wasn't a referal.  I don't handle the referals for our company just the accounts payable.
