I was texted 3 times in succession by a local # telling me to call this # to collect a prize. Annoying and invasive.

promptly reported both the number that called me as well as the toll-free number they urge you to call to the Do Not Call list.

Just got this phone call on my cell phone from a 541-225-4936 number.  This was a number not even in my area but with the same area code!  So I looked on line and on the 888-390-1858 # that I was suppose to call is here on the web as a spam.  How did they get my cell #?  I am very glad that I checked before I wasted my time in calling.

  The local number 407-512-1311 called my cell phone, which I have listed on the "Do Not Call Registry" even though I thought that shouldn't be necessary......the voicemail left said "CALL TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE 888-390-1858".
  So as usual I came to this website to view other complaints. I hope something is done about them since they are probably calling my children's cell phones as well.  I listed the 800 number on the complaint site above since that seems the most trackable as I mentioned the local call number in the comment section.  I am wondering how they got my cell phone number since I'm pretty sure the only non-personal people who have it is my kids' school.

Didnt recognize the number either...called from my Google Voice # and it wouldnt even go through.  Called from my work # and the recording said 'did not recognize, call back from the # they called me at.  Yeah right...as if!

NEVER respond to these prize claim calls. They post a local number on your caller id BUT request you to call a toll free number. THEY are logging your cell phone number as a live response for lists that are eventually composed and sold off to other "unsavory" companies to purchase. These companies DO NOT adhere to the DO NOT CALL lists and therefore will continue to harass you....because you returned that FIRST call willingly! I am a consumer advocate and investigate these scams....

It is SPAM. They INSIST you signed up for some survey over the Internet, which of course we didn't. If I track these folks down and murder anyone, I'll be sure to post images of the head.

I go the following message today. "mail message, the missed call was from 602-926-7435 (a local number to my area), the message said, "Just calling to thank you for participating in the online survey. Congratulations, you've been selected to receive a gift just for participating so give us a call toll free at (888) 390-1858. Again to claim your gift call us back at (888) 390-1858. Toll Free, Thank You, Goodbye.Reply ! "  I am glad I came to this site and definitely will nto return the call.  The caller said his name was Mark.

Received a call on my cell from a local number 805 210 3998.  Did not recognize the number so I let it go to vm.  The message was cut off only could make out a phone number. 888 390 1858. Thanks to all the posts I didn't bother to call it back. How do they get cell phone numbers?

Got a call from this number saying that I was chosen to receive a prize after I had taken some survey... Only I don't remember taking a survey. Also the automated message said to call the number back to receive my prize, but it didn't say what company they were from or what the prize was or even what the survey was!! NOT CALLING BACK....How can I block these messages from being called to my phone >>>.......<<<

I too have received a message to call 888-390-1858 because I won a prize.  I'm always suspicious. I'm glad I went to this site to investigate.  Thank you all for your posts.

I received a call from 914-292-3708 and was left an automoted message to call the above number. When I called the above number I couldn't reach a "live" person.  When I called 914-272-3708 I got a recording that the number was disconnected.

the call came from (443) 200-4672 with the same, "collect your prize" & call this number message.  great site.  callers beware...

Called from the same are code that my phone number is, but I don't live anywhere near that area anymore so there is no way I would have given my number out. Sure enough, the voicemail left said to call the 888-390-1858 to claim a prize. I call B.S. Always check numbers on this site that you don't recognize!! If they really want to talk to you they will leave a message, otherwise ignore it.

I don't suggest calling the number back.  Unless you use number blocking when you call, it will probably give them your phone number via caller-id even if you hang up without saying a word.   That "please leave your number" message is a backup in case the caller-id doesn't provide them your number.

Can we add to the case with our numbers that called us?

I got a call from (561) area saying to call 888-390-1858 to claim my prize. This is a scam. They are trying to get your info to make you put in the # you "registered" from. There is no information on the company and it doesn't say what was won.

I also got a call from 888-390-1858 and it left a VM stating to claim my prize call the number 888-390-1858.
Since I play lots of contest and sweepstakes, So I though I might have won something. But luckily I checked it on this website  before caling back.They are not gonna receive a call back from me.

They called saying I won a prize but didn't say company name or what the prize was. I'm a super critical person when it comes to scams, so I looked it up first and saw other claims for the same thing.

The number just called me on my cell which its not suppose happen. So I just reported the number to an attorney!!! I will get the real prize.  They claim I can get up to 1000.00.  They are investigating!! They said I have a case!!! So for now on call me prank callers!!! I wanna get paid!!!

i got a missed call from a phone number with MY area code. when i checked the voicemail it said to call back to claim my prize at - 888-390-1858 -this is a super sketch call, because i NEVER sign up for prize giveaways!!!....if you get calls like this...delete them and DON'T CALL!!

I got a call from a local number and googled it and found nothing! the number on my caller ID was 617-433-1482 and my area code is 617. but I still didn't pick up and listened to the voicemail and it told me to call 888-390-1858 to claim my prize. i guess spammers have caught on that we do not pick up weird numbers so they're using local numbers!

I received a call from a local number but the voice mail message they left said to call 888-390-1858 to claim my gift. I figured it was spam and checked on here and apparently it is.

Just got a missed call and voice mail from this number: 703-345-4349 but on the recording it said to call back to claim my prize and call: 888-390-1858. I always look up #'s before I dial them back, and now I'm glad I did, b/c they are NOT getting a return call from me. Thanks everyone for your posts :)

This site has saved me a lot of grief. Thanks for your info. They just called me about an hour ago. I use this site every time I don't recognize a number.

DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK. It says it doesn't recognize the number you are calling from, when it's the number they left a voicemail on, so it's tracking your response and most likely is SPAM.
