These people call me all the time. I have asked repeatedly to be removed from the list (I have already registered for the "do not call" listing...but apparently that doesn't actually work. Today I kept the person on the line longer to confirm the name of the company (Solace) ...it's always a different number calling and often an "unknown caller." If you get short/angry with the callers (men and women with Indian accents)...they can get verbally abusive as well (swearing and sexual threats). I really wish these people can be shut down.

Received call at 2pm CST 4-18-2013. Caller provided phone # 888-392-0876 (no Caller ID available), name of company "SOLACE" (confirmed spelling), his name "Oscar Brown" (? had accent); said company located in INDIA; said my computer was not accepting Microsoft Updates as mentioned in previous comments; questioned him as to how he new my computer was not accepting updates and he responded by saying through the company servers; wanted to demonstrate by having me do a "run command" for this file "eventvwr" (appears to be a Windows Operating System file); Claims they would fix problem by connecting remotely. I felt from the start this was some SCAM but was suprised with my line of questions that he did not hang up. I told him I had his number and would call back if necessary after checking my computer. After ending call I checked my MS Updates (set on auto) and history indicated recent update accomplished. HIGH PROBABILITY OF SCAM ADVISE DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO AND DO NOT ALLOW REMOTE ACCESS.

Also received call form a guy from Solace. 253--973-8892 was on caller ID and I asked how he got my number.. He just kept saying my computer would not accept the Mocrosoft Upgrade. I asked again, verified the spelling of Solace and then  I told him to remove my name from his company list.

I was called on home phone, lady with difficult accent to understand, she said she was calling fom Solace Tech, 888-392-0876.  That our computer was not accepting Microsoft upgrades, when I asked if it would cost anything, she replied," if it's only a minor repair there will be no charge, if more dificult there would be a charge."
My question is how did they know our telephone number????  I think this spells SCAM.
