yes i understand i owe these people money but they are calling my relatives out of province from where i live telling them that they are going to start proceedings to withdraw money from their bank accounts to pay for my debts, they are very unprofessional and rude and never take the time to understand that you don't have the money to pay nor do they give you the opportunity to make payment arrangements and when i say rude i mean real rude, they have no idea who you are or the people who call you all of a sudden no longer or have the ever worked there, all i can say is until i get a job they can wait for there money or even better take my a** to court and get your money that way, good luck getting blood from a stone

D&A are C****!
Peter 2014-05-21 13:11:34 Debt Collector
A message on our voice mail from Rita(?) on Ext. 6224 at D&A Corp(?) - it was a bad line or noisy call center or both.... As with the posts above it was an 'urgent matter'.
In fairness this person was very calm and polite and admitted that she may not have had the correct name. The family name was correct (there's millions of us though!) but the first name wasn't, so their 'research' isn't very good.
Based on the above posts I will wait and see. We have no outstanding debts.
Still annoying though and I worry about folks (seniors?) who may tend to react immediately to the 'urgent matter' aspect without thinking it through!

Hi guys I've been getting calls from these guys for almost 4 years never once responded until last month... I found out they're a collection agency which were handling my really really old pc master card i made when i was 18 maxed out and forgot about.... Im not 26 and it has completely ruined my credit rating after i reviewed my equifax credit report..... on top of that i have a OSAP load for almost 60K so now no bank is willing to work with me for mortgages etc...
My suggestion is if they're calling you this means your credit is already being affected so call back BUT and this is a BIG BUT... YOU CAN NEGOTIATE....
I owed 2400$$ and i negotiated down to 750$ and now its all removed and my credit is working its way up... please guys do your self a favour and finish your debt or you'll be like me waiting till you 30 to be viewed as a normal credit rating :|

Got home from work and checked voice mail. A message from a Miss Rasshad at B&A Collection Agency was a shocker! I have a file# and am told to call this phone number, use extension number and file #. Urgent! I have no debt. $0.00 in debt, nothing in arrears, She has my first name wrong and is mispronouncing the my last name, if in fact it's me she's looking for. I called the 888 number and had to leave a message. She hasn't called back yet. My phone number belonged to other people until it was given to me in February. The message is a little garbled and the collection agency name may be D&A Collection. It's a business matter that she wants to speak to me about. Between telemarketers and collection calls that aren't for me, I'm considering getting rid of the phone. Please leave me alone! I don't bother you! Ever
Denise 2014-04-16 16:28:47 Telemarketer
888-395-1147 has been leaving messages in French on my phone for months every single day. I don't understand all that is said, but the recording of a woman's voice is always the same. It seems to be a telemarketing call. I am supposed to return a call to the number above. Their persistence is ridiculous.

"I agree you are responsible for your debt and if it has escalated to a collection agency then you and only you are to blame."
I disagree as your statement is not always true.
Sometimes you might fall a victim to a fraudsters as it happened in our case. Some of them are so rude that they put my daughter on collection to collect a non-existent debt. We initially taught that we will just walk out but no, this is obviously not enough.
Unfortunately there are jokers like these b*****ds at D&A that are willing to do harm to innocent people who fell victims to fraudsters and to collect for fraudsters. Shame on everyone who blame the victims.

J'ai reçu chaque jour pendant deux mois leurs appels, sur répondeur on me disait que c'était important que ce n'était pas de la publicité et de les rappeler. Un numéro inconnu qui provenait de l'extérieur. On appelle souvent, on me laisse attendre et ça raccroche.

All I have simply done is post my experience with them. I am not disputing their tactics. Yes I was lucky to have had a good experience, but I do know others who have not. My post was not in relation to the 35 pages. Nor have I read the other posts.
Nottingham 2014-02-17 23:15:23 Unknown
I am not sure what the f*** your problem is, but it has nothing to do with me. I am not a shill, I am not affiliated, nor do I work for any agency. Get your facts straight before making false accusations.
anon 2014-02-08 13:19:32 Unknown
Really? Mr Collector? It's a long running thread that shows improper debt collection tactics at the state and federal level. Fraudulent collection tactics including your shill report trying to give some validity to their tactics. Yes, crawl back under your cubicle rock!
Nottingham 2014-02-08 01:19:24 Unknown
I am not sure what you are talking about.... I am not a collector. I am a the one that was in debt.
anon 2014-02-07 14:01:03 Unknown
Amazing! Who are you trying to deceive with your predatory and unfair business practices? If you know so much, give up your call center information, association and affiliation for what debt collector you work for! Shill!

Got a call from them today. Turns out it is a collection agent. Had a Solo bill that I thought my ex paid. And never received letter. A***ole was throwing mail away. Wasn't sure but they sent me an email with a copy anyways. Paid them today so I won't tarnish my credit score.

Spelling not your strong suit?

I am sorry to come across that way. Skip Tracing is not rocket science. It simply matches known locations, numbers and possible relatives. It is a matter of probing. When that fails and it has been sent for a scrub multiple times we do pull a credit report and can see possible employer, cc balances etc.
At the end of the day the original creditor gave you plenty of time to pay your bill. It is no different then a friend borrowing money from you, then never paying you back.
They statement to lying refers to people claiming wrong numbers, avoiding calls etc. If we have determined that it is the correct information and verified it in some way we will continue to call.
Collections is not customer service. We hate calling you just as much as you hate us calling you.
Just a note that I do not represent this company. I work for a different agency
MrM 2014-02-06 01:31:12 Unknown
Letters are sent via mail before we make the first call. Required to wait 5 days after letter sent. A letter is typically sent once a month or a bit after depending on DCD. We can also email this letter as well.

Their Crystal Ball and Ouija Board tell them so...
(Not to mention their Magic 8 Ball)

Oops forgot this part http://www.dacollections.com/Locations.aspx
Tred 2014-02-05 04:59:17 Unknown
Yeah, this thread explains in detail the predatory tactics of this organization and their personnel. They don't even try to disclose who they are for one. Their website http://www.dacollections.com/ and their BBB report http://www.bbb.org/kitchener/business-reviews ... ssauga-on-19673 business description http://www.linkedin.com/company/d&a-collection-corporation doesn't explain all their associations and affiliations.
Tred 2014-02-05 04:47:39 Unknown
Yeah, you guys like that preying on their elderly, vulnerable, and uninformed family members tactics, don't you? It's only good to call these cowards to find out why they're harassing, abusing, and exploiting relatives. All other contact should be in writing to their BBB and all other state and federal consumer protection agencies exposing their cowardice.
ShillKill 2014-02-05 04:30:40 Unknown
Are you trying to intimidate consumers? The tone of your post seems to suggest so. You seem to bill "skip tracing" as if it is rocket science or something. Give me a break. BTW, if you were an expert at detecting deception (re your statement "we know who is lying"), then why on earth would you being working in collections? And if you were "smiling and dialing" and succeeding in your vocation, why on earth would you have to make such a post here? Just asking ......
Tamianth 2014-02-05 04:29:48 Unknown
No one should verify and give anyone their personal info over the phone. What a crock of male cow bowel matter..
Once again, send the info via the mail so it can it can be verified by the folks your accusing..
Tamianth 2014-02-05 04:27:31 Unknown
And in your language, that would be everyone you "skip trace" call! No one should pay a bill that isn't verified no matter where they live in the world. How about your provide proof in writing via the mail first that can be verified..
MrM 2014-02-05 04:25:49 Unknown
The agent that called you should not have stated that they are from the bank. TD is a client of D & A. They should of stated something along the lines of "My name is XX from D & A, calling on behalf of our client TD Bank"
They will ask either DOB, last 3 SIN number, postal code etc only to verify that they are speaking to the right person. It is the law to verify this before disclosing information
daw3378 2014-02-05 04:25:30 Unknown
how do you know who is lying??
MrM 2014-02-05 04:19:44 Unknown
As collectors we call different provinces for collection. The 888 number is the toll free number. You can call it back using the same extension number provided. Both numbers are for the Ontario office. Numbers can be figured out by many means and research. It is advisable to handle the matter immediately.
MrM 2014-02-05 04:15:32 Debt Collector
To those who think changing their number or unlisting it, it will not make a difference. We have access to skip trace the number of possible relatives, change of address, new number. If deed necessary can also pull a credit report which shows your last employer, address, credit cards with balance report and know if you have the means. Sometimes caller ID will also show name registered to the phone and verifies correct number. Just pay your bill, and you'll stop receiving calls.
If you are legitimately not the person who owes the debt and receive messages, just return the call with the file number and they can update the account. We know who is lying.
