I have similar story as above. I am not and do not know the person they claim to be calling for.  Today I got fed up and lodge a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. In addition I collected all of the numbers off my caller id and blocked calls from those numbers coming to my phone.

I recieved a phone call from this number and I don't even know how they got my phone number. My name is the same name of the person they are looking for. Very interesting.

I have no idea who this firm is trying to contact. I have no idea how they got my number. I resent that fill my answeri g machine up with messages and that I cannot reach anyone when I try to call them to have my number removed. This is a very poor business practice and should not be allowed - legally. Please let me know what I can do to get them to stop.

888-397-2795 comes up as "Urbanna Florist and Delivery" in Urbanna, VA. However, no listing online for that business includes an address, which would seem to be useful info for an actual florist. (no ratings either, or listings in actual consumer sites like Yelp.) This sounds like a very elaborate scam. I would guess it's some variant on the "dead millionaire left someone with a name like yours money" con.

If they call again, just pick up the phone and tell them they are not allowed to call your number again for any reason.   If you tell them don't call and they do, then they are in violation of FCC regulations.  You may have to give them your number again becasue it is probably auto dialed for them by a computer.

For the past week and a half, been receiving what appears to be a local call (859-) with various different numbers, but leave a message in one of those automated voice tones (sometimes a female voice and others a male voice) with a first name, stating the need to verify an address for ________ for a legally required time-senstive matter ... and so on. The return number to call is (888) 397-2795. I haven't called the number, but the calls keep coming.

These folks need to be stopped.  They're calling my cell phone everyday, several times a day.  They give only a first name for identification, and no company or organization name, but they always state that this is a legally required notice and that I must respond regardless if I'm this Garret Burns they're looking for or not.  At first glance it appears to me to be some kind of phishing scam, so I'm not calling them back, because I don't want them to use their Call ID on me.  In any case, I will find a way to report these losers.

it's a collection law firm... or that's what they say.  bunch of kids just getting out of law school trying to intimidate people.  I called them back a few times back to back just to tie uo the lines... it was my day off and they were looking fir someone I didn't know... so I returned the favor of inconvenience.  they stopped after that.

I have been getting called from this 8/88 number but it appears on my phone as 1-916-277-8871.  I have no idea who this is but they call up to 10 times a day.  This is total harassement and it is getting very very old.  Please stop who ever you are or you will be reported for harassement........................................
