your right i live in a 915 area code and they too are asking for my address and last 4 of my ssn. they never left a message and seem to have gotten all my families cell numbers. My husband tried to call them back and would not give him any information. We asked them the name of the company and a man named michael said that we dont know who they are because they have changed there name from many years ago.  sounds like a scam. but according to them they are going to mail me something. makes no sense..

This phone number just called and asked to speak to my neice's fiance.  Interesting. He's never lived here or used this phone.  My neice calls here often.  I would like to know EXACTLY how they get family and friends phone numbers. I think it must be illegal.  All that a Mr Santos would say is that his company''s name was EVEREST. Pretty suspicious to be calling MY house.

Download a cease and desist template online and send it to them. They are allowed to contact you only one more time, by law, after receipt of the letter. This is the only way to get most debt collectors to stop calling. "Educate and retaliate"

Received a call from a "Courtney" and she said she wanted to confirm my address to deliver an important document.  No Company identification - no nothing.  Phone number on caller ID and left as a call back 888-397-2880.  Don't call them back.

Watch out I got a call from this number 888-397-2880... wanting my new address.  They leave a callback number, when you call them back, they answer but do not state the name of a company.  They then say "I have your social security # as ...., is that correct."  I said that I would not release any information such as that.  That is their means of obtaining your social security #, its a SCAM!  They kept saying they had to send me important information from their client, but would not tell me what it was in regard to.  I told them I am not releasing any information and to take me off of their calling list.  Be Careful everyone!

Everest Receivable Services, Inc. is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, President is Neil Walsh, Incorporated in MD, Everest Receivable Services, Inc. and Walsh were fined $6,000.00 in a consent judgement in Arizona and have a suit against them pending in Indiana. Received a call from 762-208-3300, Patrick Eckborg representing ERS Group. When I pressed him for his address he hesitated and fumbled until he said he had to consult his supervisor. His "Supervisor" identified himself as Kevin Lizak and refused to give his address and company phone number. They wanted my current address and verification of my social security number. When I refused to give them this information, "Kevin" said to call back to 888-397-2880 and give them the information. He then hung up.

I had a very sneaky suspicion about these people and their phone calls. They keep calling my Cell phone for over a year now. I usually don't pick up strange #'s and if they leave a message I check it.

Always it is the same Please call us at 888-397-2880 wether or not you are this person, WE NEED TO KNOW. TWICE I have told them I am not or do not KNOW where the person is you are calling about.

They still call my phone, not as frequently but enough to be bothered. I would report them any website, chat line or complaint department I can!!

I get calls from a 202 AREA CODE with the same message to Return call to 888-397-2880. So I did finally call them back and asked the Guy WHO ARE YOU? He said We are a location service that locates people for various reasons.
I did not tell him they keep calling my cell phone but instead said Oh I must have the wrong #. But I am going to contact my cell service and have their # blocked.

It is harrassing and I don't know where the person is that they are looking for either!!

I keep getting calls on my home phone and my cell everyday from a Arletta stating she is from  Everse RS and that they were following up on a payment plan that I had set up with them.  Never talked to anyone from a ERS.

Received a call from two different local (239) numbers.  I was told that I owe a debt from my bank in an account that was closed in '09.  I unfortunately gave him my new address and verified the last 4 of my SSN. He stated I had an unresolved debt that was bought off by an investment company and he was a third party trying to resolve it.  He continually told me that I need to resolve this matter or it would affect my credit score.  After he pushed, too much at that, I told him I was going to contact my bank since I still have two open accounts with them and they are both in great standing.  I also love my bank.  When I told him this, he stated that I didn't read the news, since people are pissed at their banks with all their hidden fees and "you don't know what your signing when you open an account".  And if I were to call the bank, they wouldn't care about the small people so I need to resolve it now.  I told him I wasn't going to give in and I'd call him back after I spoke with my financial institution.  He gave me the number to call back which was 888-397-2880.  He also provided my bank account that this was attached to.
I called my bank, and long story short, they stated they don't have any record of the account # he provided, nor was my account in any bad standing.  They also don't deal with his company, ERS, nor with the investment firm that bought the debt from my bank, and if there was ever an issue with a negative account they would notify me first.  They said I did the right thing in contacting them before providing any further information to this scumbag (my choice of words).  They checked my accounts again and told me that they were the only two accounts I've ever had and both have been in good standing.  They contact the recovery team, the ones dealing with debt owed to the bank, and they had no record either.  They told me to ignore him and if he called back, give him no information and notify the bank.
He gave me a call back two days later and asked me to verify my whole SSN.  I told him flat out that I would not provide any such information and told him what my bank said.  He stated they would have no record of his company or the investment firm that bought the debt and I needed to handle this quickly as it would put a bad mark on my credit. I told him I would not handle it and to not call me again.  He stated that he'd send the notification in the mail, which I am eagerly waiting to see if it happens, and follow the instructions.
Not sure what everyone else thinks, but banks really don't let debts to them go to someone else to collect.  They want their money more than everyone else.  I'm just glad my bank was professional and helpful when I called.
PS - the bank stated to never give out your info over the phone unless you know who you're talking to.

The number showing on my caller I.D. was 973-878-0492 which has been calling constantly trying to collect on a zombie debt,and identifying themselves as New Leaf Solutions, well I picked it up to request a written verification of the debt to be mailed to me,but instead got some Jessica, Calling to verify address for "legally required notice" for my daughter who by the way doesn't live here. She said to take her number down and I said I see the number on the caller I.D. she said for me to write down the number she could be reached at and gave me 888-397-2880. Well I had to come to 800notes to search to see if anyone else had gotten a call from this number and I am surprised that I saw someone had received a call with just the same reason they gave me for their call. Seems like these scaming debt collectors are using different numbers. Please remember that if they call you with a debt collection, to tell them to send you a written verification of the debt.
it must included the name of the original creditor, the amount and any fees added, and the date of the loan. If the collector request you give them your address to send it to you DON"T if they are collecting for the creditor than they should have all that information. Otherwise get in touch with your local Attorney General Office,also research your statue of limitations on debts  in your state. I will update to see if New Leaf calls me and what came of it. I will be calling the Attorney General in my city,with this number also. Knowledge is power, please be an informed consumer, research. A good site to go to is NoLo and check your state laws.

This number just called me today stating I owed $579.09 with Wells Fargo from an account I had from Oct. 2008 until May 2009. I never had an account with Wells Fargo from that time as I was pregnant and not working. I explain to this lady that didn't have an account and why is this now being address to be. I also told her that this incident was not on my teletrack report and to send me something via email. I have her my government email address and have not seen anything since. I called Wells Fargo to explain this problem and they have no recount of me having an account with them at that time. What are my options? HELP!

It's a debt collector for student loans. Wells Fargo did student loans back then so it's probably from that.

My ex husband of 30 yrs called me  and stated that some people was calling his cell phone and stated that they were looking for me over a notary signing. when I called the number back they stated that I had a overdraft acount at wells fargo from 2007. I never have banked at Wells Fargo ever!  when asked what i owed they stated 177.67 and i could clear up the matter by paying over the phone. I stated that that would not be happining just send me the info, the caller stated that thats not how they do it and when i can figure out  how to pay over phone then call them back and he hung up. I did chew him out during the whole conversation so dont know if they will call back.

I got a call this morning for my husbands ex wife. WHat?? They haven't been together for over 10 years not sure how they got our info. Weird. I called the number back and they said they would remove us from the list lets just see about that!!!!

Just got a call from this number.  I answered and it was a robocall asking if I was a certain person or if I could confirm an address for the person they are looking for.  Wanted me to call if I could give information on the address or location regarding a "matter that had come across her desk".  Said it wasn't a sales or soliciting call.  Might as well have just stated it was a collection call.......LOL!  Anyway, don't know who they are looking for and at this time I do not plan to call any number back.  Oh, and the number on my caller ID was 502-442-0965 but the number they wanted me to call was 888-397-2880.

The number which contacted me was 917-512-8022.  This is the number that appeared on my phone.  I didn't answer and an automated message was left requesting me to contact them to give an address.  How "something" came across her desk which required an immediate response and a physical address to locate me.  It was a very detailed automated message demanding a response.  The toll free number which was left is 888-397-3880.  From what I see from the responses of 888-397-2880 on this site, it is some sort of debt collector for a pay day loan.  NEVER had a pay day loan and they will not receive a response from me.  It appears that they have multiple numbers to contact you, which appear to be your local area codes.  Tricking you into answering.  CAUTION.

Yes, I have they called from a 904 area code then left this number to call back which is ERS. I called backed and they are trying to collect on a loan I payed back in 2010 I still have my receipts and everything. Then, they said they will call me back never heard from them again. But, they will constantly call you.

Got a call from ERS Group at least thats who they said they were.  Had my cell # last # digits of my social and home address.  Said I took out one of those quicky loans and they were looking to collect.  I never took out any loans and confronted him.  He said I could contact my attorny and have them call to dispute it.  Why should I have to pay an attorny to dispute something I am already disputing. I'm sure this is a scam.  Has anyone else run into this

I am aggravated that I am being contacted by a 512 area code and asked if I am Gloria Ortiz, with an opportunity to indicate I'm NOT her by pressing 1 or to call this 888-397-2880 if I have info.  Well, I press 1 to say I'm not Gloria many times now week after week and still I get this calls.  I was in Europe over the past 3 weeks and got huge costs from them because their robot keeps calling my phone.  So, I decided to call back the 888 number to talk to someone, but the robot that answers just wants more info and when I just stay on the line, it says there is no one available to answer and to just call back at the same number later.  This is my cell phone!  What can I do to stop this harrassment?  They say they are ERS Group but not sure if this is even true...

I think by the way the voicemail sounded, and the poor answering machine message, This is a debt collector. I am calling them back today to see what it really is and will post back with my findings.
