Getting calls from this number. Don't know who it is or why. Want them to stop calling if all they are going to do is leave a computer message in my mailbox.

THis number is for Capital Recovery or CRS.  THey are a collection company probably calling to collect money for a bill you owe.  You never tried calling them back?  Check your credit report.

CRS is now CBCS. I finally got someone to answer a different # (888-547-5354) & they had info on a valid medical bill, but were unable to give me info as to the balance or when it was set up. To get that info, they had me call the 888-397-9500, which tells you to dial the ext. or 0 for an operator. Recording says to hold while you're transferred. You go through routine over & over, then they finally hang up on you.

So the call can be legitimate, but what a way to do business! Google CBCS' main #614-222-5500 (no one ever answers that: you just get a recording saying the call cannot be completed at this time. Please try your call again later.  You won't believe the number of very ugly things consumers are saying about them!!!

They are a collection agency. CBCS.  They will call you religiously every day until you answer the phone and talk to them. You usually have a bill from them before they start calling. I have had to deal with them twice. They can be brought around to reasonable terms if you are firm, but not hostile and willing to actually pay the debt that you owe. ( If you owe money you have to create a positive track record with a collection agency, never agree to terms you can not pay, but multiple small payments give you a record to lean on) If you honestly don't owe the money, then put in the leg work to prove it. They are taking their cue from the people that are the original debtholder, so generally you have to clear it up with them.

Been receiving calls from this number for a few days now.  Hoping they would stop calling.  If not, then I'll have to figure something out.

I have also received several calls from this number at our business number - the message left said that it was a "Melissa" from CBCS regarding AEP? - I found this really stransge when I called back I received a voice mail with a man's voice stating that it was a JRS Call - I have called it back 4 times today and receive no information.

I just got a call from this number as well. They asked for John Williams. There isn't any John Williams at my house. For some reason I think it was a generic name give to fish for info or something. If it is a collection agency, they've got nothing legit on me because I owe nothing to no one.

    Now if I could just lose teh carpet cleaing phone calls!

The message that I received on my voce mail was the same.  Almost sounded like they recorded different types of automated messages to pass them off as one.  The number that came after the males voice on my message was 1-656-0804???  Like that number is legit.  And they wonder why we won't "return their call as soon as possible". ;0)

They have called several time and left a very disjointed message and the call back number didn't even make sense - 1-656-0804?? Scammers for sure.

Got letter in mail from these people only after having had a phone call on which the caller id said power.net 4048360408.  I tried to look up the number the address shown 1100 White Street SW Atlanta GA 30310  I answered the call out of curiousity as to who these people were.  The man was rather abusive not understanding that illness made me unable to make any payment or promise of payment.  There is no business license for this business at the address above.  I called the number back getting a recording the number not in service  then tried several more times sometimes getting nothing.  I contacted the creditor advised them of what had taken place reminding them that they had been advised of the situation.  I have not had a call from the number since but did receive the letter in the mail, the first contact.   Since the collector did not identify themself or provide a correct name and phone number I would say it was pretty shady.  Also, be aware cards can be bought online that can make it possible for someone to call making it look like they call from somewhere else.  If you don't recognize the number and can not verify it after the first call better not to answer.  I have not actually had a call from 888 397 9500 yet but have had call "unknown number"

I get the same calls- asking me to call back "Ms. Castle" and leaving that number with an extension.  She says "this is not a sales call, so you don't have to be afraid to call back."  Yeah... whatever :P  They are calling for Citibank

Got a call from this number.  They now have a slightly different name, CVCS or CBCS (couldn't make it out).  I called back & dialed 0 for operator.  The lady asked my phone number and whether I was some other person whose name she gave. I said I wasn't that person and she said "thanks, wrong person."  And that was it.  That was only a few minutes ago, so we'll see if they call again.

I have been contacted by them on two counts.  So far, they have not been overly rude, but have completely failed to provide any proof in writing.  Twice they confirmed my address and told me they sent letters.  I have never received anything in the mail from them.  At this point, I'm going to mail them (certified) so that I have it in writing that they never followed up.

a womans voice left a message on my machine looking for Gary *******. said for Gary or his lawyer to contact them at 1-888-397-9500 ext 3122. The name of the company was garbled in the message so I had no clue who they were. I called this number and asked for the identity of the company from the operator. I got abrubptly transfered to a man, when I informed him I was not gary and there is no gary at this number. I then asked him who are they? He replied with his name. I asked, "What is his company?" He replied with "CRS." I asked "What is CRS?" He replied, "it is the name of my company." When I tried to get him to elaborate with more information, he told me that he already informed me of that and he hung up. I called back to try again. This time I was transfered to another guy. He was more accomodating and he answered that they were a collections agency.

I just got a call from this company also my Caller I.D. said this number 702-279-3117 DC SUBURB, VA but the guy on the phone which only said that his name was Alan and that he worked for CRS Household Financial told me that he was looking for a member of my family and had my number as a good number to get in touch with them this is crazy the family member that he was looking for I have not seen in years and don't know why they would give my number the only thing that we have in common is the same last name the number he wanted them to call back was 1-888-397-9500 I really wanted to know who this was so I google the number and was directed to this site this is great that you can check up on these number this way I am going to google all 800's and 888 numbers from now on.

i just received a call from 'willy', didn't say who he was calling on behalf of, just that it was really important I call him back. Hmmm.

Keeps calling for someone not at this number or address

they now have called my cell phone and i'm not even the person they are looking for nor have i ever had anything in my name such as any bills. i'm only 18! ridiculous. i called back twice and told them i didn't know who they were looking for and that i just got the number (because i did) and they stopped calling through september (the calls started in august) and now they are calling at 7am again. i'm sorry but i don't know anyone my age who is up at 7am and i sure as hell am not going to be very kind next time it happens. if anyone finds out if it is a scam, please let me know.

on another note: everyone i talked to has sounded like they were foreign and they would ask me my name every time even though i am not the person they are calling for.

Just received this call on my cell phone. I have never dealt nor know of this company. I thought it was illegal to receive machine calls on a cell phone.

They actually (CRS) called my ex wife trying to locate me. She gave me the message and I returned the call only to find out that they woudlnt even tell me what it was in regard to or who they were. She said the ex wife gave her what she needed and when I asked her she said no she told them to not contact her anymore. If you finally get the right person on the phone it looks like you would want to talk with them.

I received a missed call on my cell phone from 1-888-397-9500.  I thought tellamarketers can't call personal cell phones?  No message but left, but I am glad to read that this is a scam and to not pick up the phone.  However, where can we file compliants against CRS?  With our state attorney's office?

I have been getting these calls for several months-- I do not know who they are or what they want. The voices after the recording list off a computer gerated voice with a mans voice saying customer number is... Certainly annoying, but since to the best of my knowledg I have no business with them I will be happy to keep deleteing the message.

I just received a call from them as well.  I didn't know the number so I didn't answer.  I just got this number two days ago and I don't owe anyone any money!  that's what is really annoying...I also got the same voice message everyone else got.

I have also been called two or three times from 1-888-397-9500, I'm not sure who it is but they tell me to call the number back to recieve my message... I never call back

They said there is a claim against me

I'm glad I found this page.  They keep calling me too and leaving recorded messages that I don't understand (all garbled, beginning and end cut off)except "please return this call".  Yeah, right.  Why would I waste my time with such an organization.

Called 3 times, didn't leave a message, then hung up when I answered. Cowards!
