They don't leave a message or say anything

Hi, I received this same call today. He said that they will deliver it tomorrow. What happened to your delivery; did they show up?

my mother received a call today that was basically the same story as the others received above. This is apparently becoming more prolific so BE CAREFUL!

We received the same exact phone call.On December 8th, 2009. The same check and serial number and bank. I can't believe it was the same exact phone call. We also goggled the phone number. We did get a phone call the next morning wanting us to make some sort of transaction. Ron asked this man what kind of scumbag he was.Told this man of what we had found when we googled the phone number and the man wanted to know what we had found. He should do some of his own homework before he tries to scam innocent hard working people like ourselves.

I'd like to affirm what the above two posters have said about this phone number.  I was just on the phone with him and my computer was handy so I googled the number as he gave it to me and it came up with this thread.  I was still on the phone with him and he gave me the exact same check #, amount won, bank name, and bank reference claim as stated by Brint Steel.  This happened on December 4, 2009(they said that I had won last year but because of some error I had not received the money or something like that).  I confronted the man with this information and he gave me their "legal team" number which was 1-516-203-4700, a number which I also googled and came up with the EXACT SAME STORY ELSEWHERE.

This is bogus.  Don't let them fool you.

I received an out of state call from an individual male with a heavy accent and I had a difficult time understanding him as a result. He claimed to represent Publisher's Clearing House and that they had been trying to contact us with 4 notices sent from as far back as 2008. The actual winner was ascribed to be my wife and the check was in the amount of $495,0000, check # SB 2578-3896; written on Lloyd's Bank, bank a refrence claim #672961. I was instructed to waith for a delivery of the check and paper work on Tuesday, Nov. 10,2009 between the hours of 10am and 2pm. I was to notify this phone number 1-888-402-3797 if the check was not delivered or if I had other questions. He stated that I would be responsible for notification of IRS as to the amount of winnings. I decided to check out this phone number and found other refrences to a scam using this phone number. We will see what transpires tomorrow as to the delivery of the promised check. I don't get what this faker's motive is as he did not ask for any check, money, bank info, SS#, or credit card number.

Claimed to be Publishers Clearing House and that I won $285,000.  They requested over one thousand dollars for a fee.  This is a scam and I want to report it.  They gave a number 1-888-402-3797.  They made up a whole story to make it sound believable.  He said is name is Peter Kennedy which I am sure it is a fake name.  1625 13th street nw, washington dc 20009.  That is probably a bogus address.  This is where they said they are located.  They gave an alleged lawyer named Daniel Paul.  They said his license # is 26526.  They claimed the company is Florida Bonded Trust.  I need to report this if I can stop them from scamming poor people out of money.  This call came to an 80 year old friend of mine who is very sick and does not have the energy to make this complaint.  If I can stop these people and see them in jail so they do not scam any other old people it would be great.
