Automated voice. Has pause where it should be inserting a specfic name but there is no name just the pause. You can call the number back and people will answer. I never saw anything, just press buttons and make funny noises in the phone until they get pissed off.

People! Be very careful what you say here unless you know for certain that this web site is not itself the information-gathering arm of a collection agencies.

They have left automated messages on my machine asking for me by name and instructing me to call a special number to settle "account number [deleted]). I HAVE experienced people "reporting" me to collection agencies as a way to harass me, but I have no REAL collection problems. Unfortunately, in order to get these harrassment reportings scrubbed, I must talk the culprit into being reasonable.

My question (a rhetorical one, at best) is, how do we ignore them (as advised above) when doing so is impossible? as they just keep calling and calling. I usually call and ask them (or their machine) to stop calling this CELL phone (as telemarketing and collecting with cells is illegal here). Even that doesn't work, because in their posturing to ostensibly convince me to obey the law (yeah, right), they could give a frying fork about any laws governing their own activities and line of work.

I have become convinced (my opinion) that at least some of the people who do this are using using a "shotgun" approach at bluffing people to give them money in return for leaving them alone. I have caught my own telephone company putting bogus "mistakes" on the bill, knowing that most people will not bother to seek justice. If you made, say, $30 an hour at work, are you going to spend an hour or two (or more) on the phone trying to recovoer a $20 mistake? Even the people you'd think are fine, upstanding corporations sometimes turn out to be six-bit swindlers.

Financial Recovery System someone named Buzz Taylor keeps calling my home looking for someone that has never leaved here in the two years I have been here. I have even asked the landlord and they stated they have never had anyone by that name live here. When I tried to explain to the rude man who called looking for Robert Kirkpatrick he said "Whatever we will try this again tomorrow." They are rude when you try to explain to them that this person does not live here.  We have even offered to send our lease agreement and bills showing there is no one by that name here. I tried to have them remove the number today and every time I started to talk they would transfer me to someone else.  This has become out of hand and is ridiculous.  We are filing a report with the local law enforcement and the FCC for phone harrassment.  Maybe if they did a quick trace on the people they are looking for they might have a better shot at finding them.

they have called me multiple times without leaving a message. i refuse to pick up, and im not too keen on calling back. i have looked all over online and have not found anything as to what this number is from. please if anyone finds out post it and let others know. its calling my cell phone and getting extremely irritating.

have called once a week for last 3 months...don't leave messages.  when i picked up, they were looking for someone else...

Calls daily, stating that they've mailed us important letters, which we've never gotten.  We never call back, because we don't have debts and assume it's a debt collector.  My husband has a very common name, so debt collectors tend to call us, looking for other people.  Makes me wanna ditch my landline.

I called this number back (they never leave a message) and it was some woman that answered and asked how she could help me. She did not state a business name or anything. Just a "this is so and so (didn't cath the name), how may I help you". When I asked what a phone call from this number would be regarding, she hung up on me.
