These guys are a scam.  Got same phone calls.  Server never showed up.  If you live in Texas, don't negotiate with these people.  They cannot garnish wages in Texas, cannot take 401k/IRA money, can't take anything that is joint tenants of entirety with your spouse.  Know your rights.  Tell them not to contact you at work.  Tell them to validate the debt.  Complain to BBB.

I also got a call from the a company claiming they were going to serve me.. gave me this number. I went online googled and saw all these people saying it wasent real so I ignored... weeks later I was served with legal paperwork to got to go court. I called the number given- obviously I wasent happy with what was happening.. but in the end I owed the account.... I set up a settlement and got it paid without problem....If it wasent for all you people who don't wanna pay your bills flooding the internet with claims that these people are fake, I wouldnt have had to pay attorney fees.... thanks alot ;) either way now im debt free and it feels damn good... lol

You are receiving a blocked ID call. That number is: 562-264-2607, in Long Beach. Do not call 888-412-6902, but call the other instead, you will scare the hell out of this guy.

Cambridge Capital is still up to it's illegal threats and shady practices. I have been dealing with them for a couple weeks now and they will not give my any information. No Company name, no employee names until recently (Michael Walsh), no nothing.

They threaten to send uniformed people to serve or arrest me, all of this is illegal. They even threw out my county court systems name so I called the court and they have nothing on record for me. Lies and threats.

I filed a complaint with the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (www.Consumerfinance.gov) last week and this week I get a message with an actual name. Today I intend to call them and let them know they are being recorded, inform them that what they are doing is illegal and then see if they are willing to answer any of my questions. These people need to be sent the message that what they are doing is illegal and the people they are doing it to are the ones that need to send that message. Use your rights to fight back from the this crap. People go into debt for a variety of reasons and no one deserves to be threatened and harassed in this way.

Stand up to this activity or it will never stop!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I received the first call on my cell phone which I did not answer because it was a restricted call. Scott Sherman from Cambridge law office left a voicemail which stated that I needed to return his call within 24 hours regarding a complaint and that they were ready to serve papers on me. About 20 minutes later I received a call at my work place. He wanted me to verify information and I refused so he became upset with me. They also called my brother-in-law trying to get in touch with me. They told my brother-in-law that I had used him as a reference. A couple of days later they called my work again and threatened to "disrupt my workplace" to serve papers. They are claiming that I owe HSBC bank for a credit card. I know that I have never had a credit card with them but I checked my credit report just to make sure there was nothing from them and there wasn't. I contacted the county and state police but they said they couldn't do anything because nothing had been taken. I will be contacting the BBB today.

Got a phone call from them, harassing me at work.  When I call the 888 number, I got told to shut up and pay my bill.  Says I owe money to Household Bank.  Wouldn't let me talk.  Kept threatening me to garnish my wages through my employer.  Gave me some bogus "word of the day is P***s".  Is this a scam?

Recieved call from Scott Sherman stating I need to pay off an 8 year debt. I also spoke w/ David. When I asked for address so I could send money order I was told sharply go get green dot pre-paid card. This caused me to look more into it. They added $900 more than the original claim. They are scamming people and don't let them get you! When I called back David told me to shut up & pay my bills.They told me they will contact my Job & garnish my wages. GOOD LUCK , dont let them SCAM YOU!!!!!!!!

Same exact story...Call from Rebecca Schaffer claiming my employer asked them to do this summons off the property because it was no work related. Asked from me to call the 888-412-6902 number and gave me a complaint to reference. I have no idea who these people are.

This person called me and LM threating me on a voicemail. Number one has the wrong person and number two did not even know how to pronounce the person's name. I refuse to answer calls that do not display where they are calling from and if you are gonna call and threaten someone you better hope they don't threaten you back! These people need to have a civil case filed against them! Can you say terrorist threating and pain and suffering. I bet once the case was filed on them they would stop calling. If I had an address and names I would see what I could do to start the process!

Same Here. Same ridiculous tactics. I do not owe this company any money nor do they have correct personal information. Claim to have a summons, called my local county court no summons.  But now they have taken it to the extreme by calling my VP at my employment at night on his cell phone. How the hell did they get his cell number.   Filed a claim with BBB because called my employment with same summons story.  This Cory person needs to be stopped.
