had the same call, from 804-588-4755. i have directed them to the new number . it is a grave yard. let them figure it out. Best laugh of the day.

I get calls daily, they never leave a message

just called me at work...they called and asked to speak to me and I told her to hold on a sec and she hung up...not very good at collecting lol

They're either a collection agency or trying to get old bills paid.

I have received 14 calls from this number.  They always ask for Mohammad. I have told them repeatly to stop calling me.

Called repeatedly-all hours of the day. Never left a message. After DAYS of calling the number back we finally got an answer. The caller is Alliance (a collection agency). They were looking for our son so they hounded US for weeks. When my husband told him to take our number off their system and never call back again or we would have our lawyer contact them the man raised his voice and ask "why are you covering for him ... well just get used to the calls" and hung up! After calling back 10-12 times he finally answered and acted like he was someone different and told my husband our number was off their records.

These guys are persistant a**holes. If you are not the one that OWES them ... you have to be one too!! Threatening them with a lawyer might help too!

Called earlier today, no message was left.  It said TELEMARKETER on the caller-ID, I've never seen that before.

Showed up for weeks on end, daily, many times a day. Never left a message. We called back many MANY times and got N/A. After repeated tries we finally got a live person answer the phone. They were looking for our son. My husband told him he didn't care WHO they was looking for, we didn't owe anyone anything and we sure didn't owe them so take our number off their records. If they ever called back he would take it to a lawyer.
Then the snot nosed punk ask him "why are you covering for him? ... Well, you just better get used to the calls" and HUNG UP!

My husband called repeatedly over the next 45 minutes, back to back, until the punk finally answered the phone again. He acted like he was someone different and assured him our number (which is UNLISTED and UNPUBLISHED) was removed from their records.

Received call on cell phone this afternoon. No message. I don't answer my cell unless I know.

I have gotten about 50 calls from this number over the past 2.5 months. No joke, about 50 calls. I normally don't pick up, and they normally don't leave a message.

When I do pick up, or they do leave a message, they ask for an ex-girlfriend of mine from about 2 yrs ago. When I asked what the call was regarding they said they could not disclose that information to me. I did not give them her phone number.

I have been called before by this number, back in October, claiming I have a Capital One past due. After I 'verified' my last four digits of my social (which I know was so stupid!) and birth date (again I KNOW) I was told they had the wrong person. I got scared after that and called back, spoke with a man (don't remember if it was Jeremy) and was told "What can we possibly do with the last four digits of your social, nothing, this is a collection agency"

I was called again today, and called back from my work number to reach an answering machine that said I had reached the office of Tim Gutzman, a FEMALE voice, and that I should leave a message...the female voice was claiming to be Tim Gutzman.

What kind of scam can this be though??

I keep get calls from this number say they are American General Finance Corp. I say what do you want. We would like to know how ,you are going to bring your home mortage up to date. Your currently 4 months behind in your payments. I said I rent and have no account with you. Then he got very rude. Used fowl lang. I then just hung up. They keep calling 5 times a day. I had my number changed to an unlisted one after 3 months of this BS.

this number began calling my cell phone about two weeks ago asking for my fiance, who does not live with me. we both have used capital one in the past. he has paid his account off, i have had mine for about a year. she asked for him and when i offered to take a message she sounded shocked when i told her i was his fiance. every time we tried calling back the number i would get the desk of "jeremy", no one ever answered. thanks to all who have posted here i can rest assured that its a scam.

I forgot to say that there were five calls within two weeks or less.

Caller ID says this number called my pre-paid cell phone within the past couple of weeks and left voicemail. I ignored all but one and when I retrieved it, heard that "hold for an important message" and hung up. Incoming calls cost money on a prepaid cell and I'd like to know how to keep them from calling.

I get 3 calls or more from this number, usually with a recording first telling me to hold for an important message, which is when I usually hang up. Today, I didn't. I get calls for someone who USED to have my number, so this time I wanted to tell them that this person doesn't have this number and to stop calling. Well, the 'important message' never came (I waited a full minute). So I hung up and two seconds later, a live person is on the line from the same number, asking to speak to so-and-so who doesn't have this number. SHE WAS SO RUDE. When told that the person she was looking for no longer has this number, she wanted to know MY address and MY name, and then got all fired up when I wouldn't give it. Her name was RONDOLL. I also spoke to a "Jeremy" who was incredibly rude when I asked for a supervisor. He just kept saying "How can I help you?" like some pimply-faced loser kid. Anyway this company is Alliance One, as someone else stated, and I think we should all just keep calling them and hassassing THEM for a change.

Their latest ploy has been to call me, let the phone ring twice, and hang up.  Then call back after a few moments.  An old trick that a family member might have tried if they were really trying to get ahold of you and figured you were home.  Of course if it weren't for the caller ID, I might have fallen for it.

This number keeps calling, and leaving no message.

My wife answered this call and got similar "Capitol One" collection ploy that we owed on a non-existent MC account. Neither of us has ever had an MC account with anyone. Sounds like more than just "telemarketing" going on at Alliance One.

I called the number twice.  Both times got someone named "Jeremy" both with different voices.  I am getting called 2 to 3 times daily.

I've been getting the calls each day, 2 or 3 times a day,for the past few days i have caller id and i'm on  the no call list. i answered and LEEZA asked for my son, who i went ahead and obtained(see above) 4 credit cards for so he could work on 'upping his credit', but kept the cards. the caller said he was to call NEW ALLIANCE( told her unless she told me who was calling, i wouldn't tell him),she would not give me additional info. i owe a couple thou on 4 cards he has his name on, and she dialed my number and not his......... in fact my son was the one who told me to goggle the number!
i think i'll let my husband call them.... he LOVES TO  screw around with people like that. entertainment for the evening!

Call came in on 10/19/2007 at approx 9:10 am PDT.  I didn't answer.

Asked for husband ... asked what for as he wasn't home, that I was his wife.  Said he was calling from Capital One and that we owed over $2,000.  I said we do not!  We have never done business with them.  I asked him what name he had for this account and he said my husband's first name, but middle initial was incorrect, so I told him that.  He said what is his name then, and I told him I wasn't going to tell him as he had the wrong person.

He then said very rudely, "do you really want to go head to head with Captial One as they are one of the largest banks in the world."  I said it's not us.  He said again rudely and loud, "whatever! and then said to call him when I was ready to talk and slammed the phone down."
