According to my automated call logs, they called 9 times on Oct. 8.

My number is on the National Do-Not-Call list, and is a residential number. Just because I registered a small business with the state (to get a tax ID number) and used this number DOES NOT mean it's a business number. I'm reporting this outfit and sending my call logs as evidence.

Same as above.  I filed for my sales tax permit and bingo, I am on the telemarketing list.

I've gotten 3 calls in 31 minutes - all from various numbers that lead back to credit card processing. Filed my TX sales tax permit 5 days ago and as of this AM, evidently my info has hit the telemarketing arena. I wish they knew that simply by harassing me this way, I'd use the old fashioned steel plate before I'd do business with ANY of these yahoos. Ignore ALL unknown calls for at least 48 hours - if you recently filed for your sales tax permit. Call # 4 just came in as I wrote this.

GOT THE SAME CALLS ABOUT CREDIT CARD EQUIPMENT FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT NUMBERS.  PRETTY AGGREVATING.  THIS ALSO STARTED AFTER MY STATE TAXES WERE DONE.

Technology has changed the game.  Such a law would be useless.

As a business you have fewer protections than as a consumer.  <http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls>

The laws we have now are based on the landline telephone system of years ago.  Internet telephony has made those laws obsolete, and I have yet to see a comprehensive solution, especially for businesses.  For residences, call filtering helps a lot.

Welcome to the brave new world.

I am having exactly the same experience today.  I think the solution would be to make it illegal to have an unlisted 800 number.  What do you think?  I just registered my business, which is not a new business, and someone in Austin has given our phone contacts to some crook who signed off with a (speaking of illegal) volume blasted in my ear when he realized I didn't know what he was talking about.  This is not only harrassment is is abusive retaliation.  I wonder who bribed whom to permit this?  In any case, even though they are unlisted, SOMEONE in Austin knows who they are.

I am not annoyed, I am physically damaged to my hearing by the noise that they emitted over the phone

this number along with others have been calling me all morning wanting to give me a free credit card machine or whatever since i recently filed for a Texas sales tax id. but seriously this is ridiculous for them to harass people like this calling non stop all from different numbers not all of which are even local. so far these are the numbers i have received some of which were not polite enough to even leave a message. I would much rather receive junk mail from them than receive these calls all day as far as i am concerned this is harassment our numbers should not be allowed to be given out for companies to call non stop like this.
