I also got charged by "ATT*CONS PHONE PMT" a small amount of $3.98. I thought it was strange, called AT&T, and they said it was not from them. I found this website, and immediately reported it to my bank and to AT&T (go to their live chat service, and ask the representative to notify their managers!). Is it a coincidence it happened right after I became an AT&T customer? I don't know... I never gave AT&T my bank info, but after reading these posts, I am not sure. In any case, I think it is very important you report it to you bank and to AT&T as a fraudulent activity, and hopefully someone will do something about it, and they will at least try to catch these guys (or at the very least stop them).

AT&T gave me this number as a fax number to get my bill straighten out.they are charging me for two bills which i do not owe.Guess i will be finding a new service

i got internet with att , i did it online, they took 100 dollars on the 17 for a deposit, now i see they took another 100 dollars on the 18th with out me knowing

its not valid if you canceled that account a year ago and they are still debting your account.  You must work for AT&T. sounds like some of the excuses AT&T gave when I called them for the 10th time!!!

Are terrible there system is not secure and they are not taking responsibility for it at all. hackers are all over AT&T. I had to cancel my CC because they where doing automatic withdraws from my account and i don't even have an AT&T account.

This scam has been charging monthly amounts since Sept 2010 and probably before then. some are $160.00 and others have been $65, $74.55, and so on. I am soooo upset. Money is very tight.
The bank will reimburse only the 1st 3 months, everything else is lost.
ATT's only reply was to call your bank. It is ATT's name and reputation that is on the line. ATT should do something about this. Maybe they have connections.

I tried calling this number and got, "Please call during normal business hours.". This was at 10AM in the morning. How much more normal can I be?

This is awful. It diminishes our faith in people doing the right thing.

I got a charge of $4.85 to my checking acct. I called AT&T and they have no record of the transaction. i then called my bank and they reported it as fraud. Charges will be removed and a report filed.

P.O.S. PURCHASE ATT CONS P ATT CONS PH DALLAS TX

After much worry and investigation, I found that this is the charge that comes up on a debit card when I paid an ATT home phone & internet bill that I had forgotten and was late. I had a disconnect notice (I make that note, because it doesn't come up that way on statement when not late).
I paid at the last moment, debit by phone. It turned out to be a legitimate charge.

OMG....Ya'l had me paniced this morning...I went to re reconcile my 2010 Bank Statements for ATT charges via PHONE payments and ON LINE payments...this is what I discovered so...double check your personal bill paying styles...

On Line ATT payments show up like ACH ATT Type: Payment ID:...### Co: Att (legitimate payments as we compared to our bill

Sometimes I ran late in making a payment on line thus forcing me to make a phone payment...this is where I think some of you may be getting confused (much like me this morning..even canceled my debit card prematurely - but better safe than sorry)

SO the Phone Payment (yes I even wrote out the conf# given to me that of course did not match the entry on the bank statment BUT the amount paid via phone DID in fact match the amt on the bill). The Phone Call Payments show up as

##### ATT CONS PHONE PMT DALLAS TX ATT CONSOPHON

Before we continue to play the panic forward much like this post..........just check your notes on your actual bill as to how you made the payments  (Either by Phone or on line....not sure if many of us send in checks these days)

Att cons has been charging me for years and I have tried to track this company
but have had no luck! I did change my cc debit card but they keep charging
me!!  Its not every single month but for sure every other month kind of
random charges!~!

I saw a charge on my screen for $38.00 from: PBP ATT CONS PHONE PMT DALLAS, TX
then I googled that name and found this board... I called my bank to find out more.. they said it's
AT&T. I DO have AT&T DSL Internet service so I think that is what this charge is for me.
They charge my card once a month- same amount. I called off the hound dog.

Guys and Gals.  HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTIONS:  THE PEOPLE NOT PERSON, WHO KNOW YOUR CREDIT CARD AND GET YOUR MONEY ARE THE MANAGEMENT PEOPLE OR THE OWNER, WHO WORK INSIDE THE COMPANY, WHERE YOU USE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO PAY.  NO MATTER HOW YOU CHANGE NEW CARD.  IF THEY WANT TO GET MONEY THEY GET IT.  

NOW HOW ARE THEY NOT GETTING CAUGHT?  WELL, THE AMOUNT IS SO SMALL, EVEN 1000 DOLLARS.. FBI WOULD LAUGHT AT IT, WAST OF TIME.  SO, FOR THOSE $10,$20,$40.  THAT EVEN FUNNIER.  BUT UNLESS, THERE ARE A LOT NUMBER OF YOU REPORT TO FBI.  BUT STILL, HOW ARE THESE SAME NUMBERS OF YOU WILL REPORT TO SAME FBI.  NOT TO MENTION IF YOU REPORT TO THE RIGHT FBI.  DO YOU GUY KNOW HOW MUCH TIME AND HOW MUCH IT COST THE FBI TO OPEN THE CASE AND SOLVE IT?  THERE ARE ALOT OF CASE PILE UP IN FBI OFFICE THAT WAIT TO BE SOLVE RATHER THAN THIS PETTY THEFT CASE.  THINK ABOUT THE COST OF THE CASE AND COMPARE TO HOW MUCH YOU LOST.

My phone was stollen in Oct 2010 my phone was disabled (AT&T ) a week later I was billed on my bank acct 42.00 AFTER it was blocked  . . I reported it to AT&T & also my bank canceled my debit card  I got a new card, however when I payed my next phone bill in late Dec  I was charged 19.80 within 10 mins of the transaction on my payment to my AT&T bill ...I think somehow this scam can pickup on the transaction on the payment made to AT&T and charge your acct odd how this works .... AT&T can't seem to fathom that their system is less then perfect they need to stepup security on our lines!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I canceled my debit card again & got a new number from AT&T . AT&T said I didn't need to change my number last time this happened ....but they were wrong !!!!! They should look into this if everyone would insist   that has ben  hit by this scam maybe they would take this a little more seriously !!!

Contact your bank, tell them what happened, direct their attention to this 800notes page where many have reported the same problem, tell your bank it's fraud and demand all charges refunded. You need to see if other false charges exist and have those refunded as well. Your bank may or may not agree to refund false charges beyond the statutory 60-day limit.

My phone was stolen reported to at&t , 4 days later after it is disconnected , I get billed $42.30 on my bank statement through my debit card that I usually pay my phonebill on the phone this was after my phone was connected plus this service scam is not affiliated with AT&T at all
ATT CONS PHONE PMT DALLAS TXUS this is what it said on the statement ....I googled this & see there are quite a few who are getting screwed as  well... this person who stole my phone is a complete stranger who  also made numerous calls to Mexico plus internet activity.
