Been receiving these calls for my son.  Have not called the number back but googled it first.  Charles Dixon needs to find a real job.

I have been receiving calls from this "company" for a couple of weeks. I told them today to remove both of my phone numbers from their list and to send any proof of my "debt" to my email. I also told him I was going to report him for violating the FDCPA.  The guy proceeded to call me a "deadbeat c***". I was so shocked I said, "What did you just say?". (Thinking I had misheard him.) He repeated the phrase a little louder. I yelled at him "EXCUSE ME?!" He then hung up. I doubt I'll be hearing from him again.

i JUST GOT THE SAME THING JUST NOW AND I CALLED THE NUMBER AND TOLD THEM THEY HAD THE WRONG NUMBER, THE GENTLEMAN IF YOU WANT TO CALL HIM THAT SAID HE WOULD REMOVE MY NUMBER THEN BEFORE HE HUNG UP CALLED ME BY THE NAME HE WAS LOOKING FOR. SO THAT TELLS ME I WILL GET MORE CALLS WELL i HAVE A SURPRISE FOR THEM. IT IS CALLED BIG SCREECHING NOISE IN THEIR EAR THAT WILL BREAK AN EAR DRUM

I received a message from Charles Dickson at 888-431-9131 that they were going to serve me with papers at my work or my home and that I should call them. Usually, if someone is going to serve you, they don't warn you, they will just come by with the papers. I have had calls from people before of a similar nature and I called back and got a recording. It is a pity that people won't leave you alone and that they can harrass people into paying them money. The Police can't be bothered since they can't track down where the call is even coming from as they probably move around a lot. I would not pay them any money and if they threaten you, tell them that you have rights and it is against the law to harrass people, and tell them that you will serve papers on them for being stupid and committing many crimes themselves if you wish to talk to them at all. I for one am getting fed up with these calls.

I been receiving the same calls the lady who answers has got to be the nastiest person I have ever come into contact with.I have reported them to FTC and BBB They think you are stupid.I am also reporting them to my states Attorney General.Not one penny from me.

Oh my goodness I am so glad I found this site.  I was calling all kinds of law enforcement agencies to see if I had a warrant out for my arrest.  It was supposed to be back from 2006 case.  I call the district attorney from where I lived at the time.  They advised me that they cannot press criminal federal charges for a bad check.  Also advised me that I had to right to obtain any information I asked for and would not be spoken to rudely or hung up on.  Which made me feel better as well.  They also said that the time limits on bad checks, if it was an actual case, was only 2 years.   They do not process warrants or arrest for bad checks over 2 years old.  I was and still a little scared that I am going to be arrested in front of my class for something I never ever did.  Was really scary was that the lady knows my SSN, My mother, as well as my best friend saying they were my other POCs.  I would really like to know for sure if I am going to be arrested!

1.      There are no documents and you are not going to be served with anything.  No legitimate process server notifies  anyone in advance they are going to be served.
2.     Never pay anyone anything over the phone.   If there is a valid debt then demand  a debt     validation letter be sent to you by US  mail.  E-mail no good.
3.     No warrants are going to be issued for anyone?s arrest.    Warrants for arrest are only issued by  judges to duly constituted law enforcement authorities.  Warrants are not issued to debt collectors and debt collectors have no powers of arrest.   And no police agencies warns anyone in advance they are going to be arrested.
4.    Civil debts are civil matters and you cannot be arrested for an ordinary civil debt.
5.    These people have clearly wound you up.  
6.    Get a call blocker and do not return any sort of call like the one  you describe.   If they hit you once, they?re sure going to try it again.  Usually under a different name.

Judges do not issue warrants to debt collectors.   They are only issued to duly constituted law enforcement agencies.  This is a total scam to scare you into paying them something.   Common trick.  

But to check it out just call the Sheriff's office for Harris County.  I assume that's in Texas.

This is an extortion and you should go to you local law enforcement agency and report it as such.

Apparently there are a lot of debt collectors who go around alleging that they have warrants and that they are somehow connected to Harris County, Texas in some official way.    

Ignore these kinds of calls.  Debt collectors who threaten you with criminal prosecution are themselves in violation of the law.  

Sadly, you can expect more of these calls.   This is largely because they are selling and re-selling your debt to  other unscrupulous debt collectors.

Had someone who sounded like a robot leave a message as Charles Dickens stating I needed to call them back in regards to being served papers at work or at home.  I know this is a scam.  I reported them to the police dept. who also confirmed it is a scam.  I have no checking account to have bad checks. The companies name when I called this number back was Curtis Peyton Litigations.  They left a message on my teenage daughter's phone as well. This is harassment and abuse

The only way to get them to go away is to block their number(s) if you can.  If you can't block the numbers or assign a "no ring" tone, then unfortunately, you'll have to just let the calls go to voice mail.  Your callers are scammers, so are not interested in obeying the law, nor how much they upset the people they harass.  Sorry.

I received a call from a blocked number and some guy (last name Dickson) left a message stating that he was trying to serve me with some documents and left the phone number of 888-431-9131. I called the number and the first time I was told to call leave a message. I tried again because and finally got a woman who was rude and offered very little information. SHe told me that the debt was from a cash advance from 2007 and the amount that I needed to pay. I told her I was unaware of this but would pay but needed to know the name of the company and teh original amount. She then said that the info I was asking for belonged to her client and that I had taken out this pay day loan. I asked her how long she would be there because I was getting nowhere with her and she said 3 and I could only pay by credit card or cash and it had to be done by monday or a warrant would be issued for my arrest. Of course I panicked and called back to try to get a supervisor or just some more info. i was told that there were no superviosors in a law office and since I refusing I could just deal with it in court. I never refused anything but trying to talk to them is ridiculous and a waste of time. I asked for an account number and was hung up on.

Curtis Payton, Litigator called, looking for my son. When I told them he could not be reached at this address/phone the representative called my son a deadbeat and that I was also a deadbeat for giving birth to him. I told her I will not tolerate this kind of abuse and she hung up. I called back and she said, you told me what I wanted to know and hung up again. So, I am turning to the internet to get this resolved. I am responsible for my debts only, not my adult children. I asked for her name and address and she refused.

Same exact call as above. Three times a day. They won't give an address or a name without getting rude/belligerent. Scam!

Received a voice mail stating that I was going to be served..and arrested! Please! I don't have any debt and I cursed these fools out and told  them they have been reported to the FTC and they hung up.

They contacted me stating I wrote fraudlent checks, but I filed bankruptcy on the bank who paid some overdraft checks.  This is a serious scam situation.

they are doing the same  me.I was scared and pressured into giving them my debit to make a quote warrant for bank fraud go away. Now I have to cancel my card and get another. These scammers need to get a real life

We've been receiving these calls for almost ten years now on a bogus claim.  The callers have identified themselves as the Sheriff, attorneys, process servers, mediators, and numerous others.  
All they want is money and they will not let you explain anything to them.  I keep telling them they have it all wrong, but all they want to do is bully.  They are rude and upsetting to say the least.  

How can I make them go away????

I am so glad I read these posts. I received a call for 888-431-9131 from a Charles Dickens stating that he needed to send paperwork to my place of business or home and requested me to call back. I will not be calling back and will file a complaint with BBB and FBI.

I get a couple of calls every day from this number. Curtis Peyton Litigation. I have no debts and they keep saying they have papers to serve me "either at my work or home".  I just hang up. People should not be allowed to harass a person over the phones.

I have been doing the same. The guy I keep csses me out calling me thec work the b work you names it. I will just keep calling

Talked to what sounded like a large, angry black woman. Continued to call and ask her questions after being hung up on several times. She finally blocked my number so I couldn't call her anymore. I just found different phones around town and continued to bother her.

I have been receiving unwanted phone calls stating I have a bad check charging from around 2006,2007.
They treated jail and my attorney says this is ou5 of the statutes of limitations. The guy was rude and hung up on me! The company is Curtis Payton Litigations. Two different t phone numbers. When they call it comes from an unknown number. My friend gets phone calls too. They harass us.
