Don't answer the telephone to numbers you do not know who they are and don't call them back because your number will be on their incoming bills and you may not get rid of them.

Received a call from 916-237-0742 and upon searching, find that people were given out the number 888-440-6393 to call and redeem various gifts. Don't answer telephone calls that you don't know who they are and don't call them back because your number will show on their incoming bills and you may not be rid of them.

I received a call too that had the same call-back number. It didn't tell me what I had won just that I had won a surprise and to call back. I checked online and found you guys. I won't be calling back either. I get enough junk calls as it is despite being on the DNC list.
I can't turn them in b/c they don't leave a name or anything tangible to turn them in. :(

call actually came in on 1-800-286-2910 but says Hudson, WY (There is no Hudson, WY but there IS a Hudson, CO)
got a call back immediately after above number with 1-800-435-9792 Didn't answer that one either.
Voice mail says You've won a $40 Visa! Said to call 1-888-440-6393 BUT the call info on my phone said the number was (303) 500-6535. I called the (303) number from my dentist's phone. This (303) number was in Hudson, Colorado) & was told it was Average American Survey.
"Service Rep" said, "Why are you calling the 303 instead of the 888 number we left on voice mail?" Told her because 888 are sometimes calls you pay for. She said, "Exactly" and hung up.
SCAMMMMMMMMM
Called the
Not gonna do surveys any more!! I added the "free PHONE TRAY" to my computer & put that number in right away. Also notified the US Do Not Call that these scammers had called (since I'm on the Do Not Call list, making it illegal to call).

The same thing happened to me on 3/8/12. A Connecticut number shows up on my missed calls but when I listened to the message I was given an 888 number and most of the message wasn't recorded. Don't know who it was that called and don't know what I supposedly won.

Got a call from a local number! I live in Boston and got a call with a Boston area code, figured it was someone I knew, but turns out they said I have won something and to call this 888 number to claim it. did not call back.

How dumb can you be ? It is a scam ! Any company that calls people who are on the Federal and State Do Not Call List's is a scammer. They are breaking the law pure and simple. Civil and criminal law. Any company that is willing to break both sate and federal law -- IS A SCAMMER COMPANY !!

888-440-6393
888 440 6393
8884406393
Called my cell & left a voice mail. (I have never given my cellphone number out anywhere.)
Not sure how they did it, but went right to voice mail, so calling number is not recorded.
But I believe it to be:
630-869-6899
630 869 6899
6308696899
(This number is associated with the 888 number listed above)
Some sort of "REWARD CENTER" scam.

DO NOT CALL ME FROM THIS 888-440-6393, I tried calling this number back and it keeps hanging up before the call goes through, it also states to call from your phone instead of another phone line. I don't have time for foolishness.

Stop calling me as I live right by the BBB and I am quite willing to go there!

this is just a note, it is now required by law that ALL Telemarketers have written permission to call your number. So if you get one of these spam unwanted calls let them know that fact. They are required by law to give the name of the company, who you are speaking to. I have already done this twice today and they will play dumb and say they never heard of such a law...one said he had never heard of such a f------ law and I was full of excrement. then hung up

My caller id was a local #...518-212-0258 & I was told to call: 888-440-6393 for $100/Walmart voucher. I called 'cause I fill out the Walmart surveys all the time......both #'s ask that you hold & then they disconnect.

501 205 8890 is located in Conway Arkansas. They called and left a message. So I returned the call because I thot it was about my car. They left a message for me to call 888 440 6393 so I did. First message was that I had won a 100.00 gift card from walmart. They asked me to stay on the line and a live representative would talk to me. a few seconds later they hung up the phone on thier end. I tried 3 more times and each time they hung up on my call. I will not call them again. But I thought it was legitimate call since I have registered in several contests recently.

I got an automated recording call from (402)527-8136 stating that I won a $40 Visa gift card and was instructed to call (888)440-6393. I did a reverse search on the local number it came from and it's a cell phone in my state (Nebraska). I thought I'd check what the 1-800 number was too as it sounded sketchy and glad I did. Not calling back to waste my time with this!

I got the same message -- to call this number to claim my $40 gift card, then a couple weeks letter the same message to call 888-440-9376. Nothing is free so I'm sure it's a scam, or there's some other string attached.

I rec'd a call this afternoon telling me that because I completed an online survey I would receive a free $40 Visa Card. I replied that I had not competed any such survey, noting that perhaps my spouse had done so. Told the caller I would check with my spouse; when I returned to the phone the caller had hung up . . . SCAM!

After recieving a phone call that I had won a $40 visa gift card for filling out the "average person survey", I started researching the internet about other experiences and I came upon this. Although the number was not the same, mine was from a 706 number, I had the complete same experience. I answered the call, a woman said I won, and when I refused to pay $1 for something she transferred me to a machine that asked me to put in a pin and some kind of security code that I did not know. When the machine hung up on me I tried to call the number back but all it said was "goodbye". I will be sending an email about this experience off to the Better Business Bureau. This is obsurd for people to be subjected to such idiotic things. I HATE SCAMS!!!!

Recieved a call saying call 1888-440 6393 to claim $40.00 gift card, pay a $1.00 for first thirty days and then $19.95 after 30 day trial. the $1.00 fee was to receive the card even though you filled out a survey to receive it. What a Joke and the Girl VERY RUDE!
| Missi 2011-12-17 02:37:05 Unknown |

It took some serious searching on my part, but by finding the latitude and longitude of the phone call using some of the reverse phone lookups, I then went to google earth and typed that in, them went to google maps and found the picture of the house/address. Then I went farther and googled the address and went to pipl.com and eventually even found the name of the person confirmed by what I had already seen on google maps. I plan to turn all this over to the police tomorrow, because part of this scam is gathering our phone info, which on a smartphone could be gathering QUITE a bit??!!
