They have a website. No phone number or e-mail (imagine that!!).
Their address is:
751 S. Weir Canyon RD#157406
Anaheim Hills, CA 92808
They called me and my step-son yesterday looking for my EX-HUSBAND. They said they would be able to find him easier if I gave them his social security number. Now, my ex is my ex for a reason, but what a huge red flag. That wasn't happening. My step-son has never even seen a picture of my ex, let alone know him! They are calling on cell phones though. I called the number they left on the message three times and it went to three different places, the last one was a message from CF Group. Now, I'm in Pennsylvania and they are in California, so they aren't even up yet.
I'm still filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for fraud.

The owner of this company is John Silva. His email is mufasarolex@gmail.com. His phone is 909-549-5248. I'm sure he has no idea that his "business" is breaking the law and would welcome your comments about this issue. By the way, this information is all public record at the city of Anaheim website, so I'm not putting out private information. http://permits.anaheim.net/tm_web/bus/inquirebus.asp Please note, this a collection agency, not a law firm, so they are breaking the law by representing themselves as such. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I suggest you cancell that credit card, they are going to charge you, but not report to credit bureau. They are not authorized to collect debt, and they are not licensed in an.y state. Do some research next time

I gave these people my debit card to make arrangements they also had me doing a recording saying that I will do two more payments so they won't sue me

This company is a scam. REPORT THEM! Contact THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and THE FCC and the OCC! This company is illegally threatening people under FALSE PRETENSES! BEWARE AND REPORT THEM NOW! They Called me and told me I had 24 hours to come up with Money for them or that I would be dragged into court by subpoena. They also claimed that someone had already tried to serve me with papers one time already which is a bunch of bull since I am home 24 hours a day due to an injury I have suffered. Also, I called my CREDIT CARD COMPANY and they said they have no affiliation with CF GROUP AND ASSOCIATES. I worked out payments directly with my company. CF GROUP AND ASSOCIATES wanted me to pay them and claimed THEY WOULD PAY MY CREDITORS! LIARS! DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM! THEY ARE FRAUD AND THEY NEED TO BE REPORTED NOW!

I work for a financial firm and they called twice to the customer service phone number within the past week. Note: This is the same phone number that I state on my individual voice mail (for my customers to call if they need assistance with their active accounts with our company).
One of the calls got back to my boss and she was freaked out that I was going to be served at my office. (I do not work in the main office because it's in a different state from where I live and work. I reassured her that in my county/state, legitimate process servers DO NOT call first, they simply show up.)
I was my father's estate manager and he died with unpaid debt. So, my guess is that this firm bought one of his old debts.
Several weeks ago I had a voicemail on my cell number with a similar message wishing me luck, etc. I called and spoke with someone who transferred me to someone else and so on. I told each person, to send it to me in writing and I will either handle it or forward it to my legal representative. I do have an attorney that assisted me with pro-bate items. However, I'm not contacting (i.e. paying for) the attorney without written documentation.
I check my (snail) mail pretty frequently and have not received any collection notices, bills, etc., which furthers proves my guess that it's an old debt of my deceased father.
That?s my two cents.
A friendly reminder from someone who is required to abide by the fdca and other regulations:
DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION to anyone or any organization when you have not initiated the call. Even if they say there is a case or a complaint - get it in writing!!!

They have called me twice but are very vague and also threaten to take me to court. I agree with many of you that if this was legitimate I would receive something in writing! They can bite me.

Who do I report them to?

Call comes in as unknown, but voice mail is left from "James Stewart" looking for Julie Biecia (sp) with conversation sounding like this Julia girl is a fugitive and needs to contact James.
I've talked to these people before and told them repeatedly that this Julie girl is NOT at my phone number and I've told them that I don't appreciate them calling repeatedly using up my minutes on my phone. But they keep calling. They always claim that they've never called before which is total bull s***. I have been harrassed going on three years now from people looking for this Julie - drunken friends, bill collectors and people representing themselves as attorneys....and whoever this James Stewart is. I'm sick of it.

I'm sure this outfit would be over-joyed to take a 'lump sum.' Of course, they'll never see one. Except for the lump sum they'll be paying to you, your Attorney and the govt. when they mess with the wrong person.
Do not pay these people a dime until they have supplied you with, by mail, written validation of their claim. This validation must include the name of the original creditor and the amount owed. A valid phone number, address and contact information. Verify all information supplied and then check your state laws regarding the recording of your calls. Either record away or, if you live in a two-party state, inform your caller the call is being recorded. Once you feel that you have enough, contact your Attorney or find a Consumer Attorney.
Once the shady firm is tracked down, have them served. Your Attorney will explain the details to you. It's quite simple. The result will be a hurried settlement offer from them or a default judgement awarded to you when they or their Attorney fail to respond or appear. Even if they were trying to collect on a valid debt they will have, without doubt, violated so many federal laws under the FDCPA that they will avoid a court room at all possible cost.
Firms like these operate on the belief that the people they're trying to collect from are powerless to stop them. They are finding out that's not true. They'll hide behind P.O. boxes and spoofed numbers. They'll assume that people won't respond to law suits. What's happening is that the people they're trying to feed off of are becoming smarter. The technology that they've been using to stay in the shadows is now being employed against them. If they're U.S. based they can be found. The networks of Attys. that they've been using for nation wide assistance have now expanded into other networks of Attys. that feed themselves by suing collection companies. Consumer Attornies have found that the pickings are so plentiful that most are now being retained on a contingency basis. Meaning no up front costs to their clients.
Do your homework people. You no longer need to feel like a victim. If you owe a legitimate debt, pay it or make arrangements to pay it. To a legitimate creditor or their legitimate collection agency. Do not pay a debt without verifying its authenticity and the legitimacy of the people trying to collect it. If you are being harassed, fight back. This country wasn't built by people who just roll over and die.
| Leo 2012-12-17 05:41:17 Unknown |
If you are able to do a lump sum, they will usually take it. Say you owe 10k, tell them you can pay 5k up front for a final settlement. However, this is something you should have done prior to going to court. If they took you to court which is rare from what I know, they want all of it back. It really depends on how much you owe.

BEWARE the above response is from the collection agency guilty of the aforementioned fraud. Dont be fooled!

Don't wasted your time with these guys. Go to the FTC website and initiate a complaint against them. BE SPECIFIC with your info. Good luck.

Collection call - after researching through Anaheim CA City & Government agencies - this company does not exist - BEWARE - I did place a call to them & informed them I did my research & felt this was theft. Maybe they will stop
| Amanda 2012-12-11 01:11:46 Unknown |
I agree, these people are horrible. I think they keep passing the info on to the next company, because I have had 3 different scams attempted on me from 3 different companies over this expired debt I have in the last year. Each time, they have called daily for about a month, then give up. Then about 4-5 months later, I hear from another company with the same junk. So tire of it, but what can you do? All of the companies were from CA, and I contacted the AG there each time, but nothing happened.

Thanks to everyone for these posts.
I received a call from my father last week stating he was called by a male who did not identify himself only wanting my home address as he had papers to "serve" me. My father immediately called me concerned to tell me the number his was given. They then called and left a threatening message on my phone which I of course saved. The male caller did not identify himself again but stated they were coming out in 24 hours to serve me at home or work with papers and possibly suspending my drivers license. Ironically another call today from a female (Kimberly Swan) stating she is a process server but to call another number also.
I checked my county clerk of courts records and there is no court date/suit being filed against me at this time. They use scare tactics and bullying...horrible people.

Thank you for all these posts! I got a call from these people today, and every red flag in my mind went off! Any legitimate civil suits will be served by the court officers in the city/town resided in. Also, such notice comes by mail! I shall simply ignore them and not take the calls. If they persist, I shall call my local police office and the local news network to conduct an investigation. Would be cool to bring these thieves to light!

Just mapquested this, there is a Postal Annex, a plumber, and a salon at this address. This is not a legit business. Going to report them to the FTC and California Attorney General. They are also not licensed in TX, so if you live there, tell them to hit the road.

I did some searching on CF Group and Associates, and they have a lovely generic website that you can take a look at. They are out of california, and the address on the website looks like a post office box. Here is the link. http://www.cfgroupandassociates.com/contact.html

They constantly keep calling from an unknown number. Today my parents received a call from this number telling them I need to call them and she left her name as Annie, but when I called back they told me no Annie work there and then a man got nasty with my mother when she said she was going to report them to the local police. He wouldn't give her his real name he gave her a false name Hooper.

I got a call from these people and so did 2 of my family members. They would not give me any information other than some bogus CFGroup & Associates, I looked them up and found nothing on them. I guess they thought they scared me when they said a process server was looking for me and that I had a court date set, well I checked and I don't. I said if the calls continued I would call and harrass them. I will update if I get anymore calls.
