When I picked up I could hear background noise and voices. I hung up because I knew it was one of those robot calls. That was about 6,7 months ago. I never determine who was calling.
Since then I've been getting about two calls a day most days, I never pick up. I just mute the ringtone.
It would appear that even if I picked up I still wouldn't be able to get them to stop calling.

They call my landline at least once a day, at varying times. I'm so sick of this. They ring the phone 4 times, and hang up right before the answering machine kicks in. I'm tired of listening to the phone ring, so as soon as l see the caller ID, I press "talk"' and then immediately press "end" to disconnect.

I solved this problem a long time ago.  Call the Lupus Foundation directly, number is at http://www.lupus.org/about/contact-us, and tell them to have your number removed from that marketing company they hired, or call your local chapter.  I did; they were very courteous and responsive. Do NOT complain to the marketers calling you, they don't care, and forget the "do not call list" request, the FCC says that non-profit organizations like the Lupus Foundation are exempt from that list and the marketers know it.  You need to complain to their client. Making the call to Lupus is a bother, but it's the only thing that worked for me.  

Don't answer any 800 or 888 numbers!  It is  just that simple.  No need to get all ballistic about it.  Just don't pick it up.

The people from the lupus pick up service are a scam to harrasses you and break you down in N,Y,State.
They call when people are sleeping never leave a call back number except the other day
don't expect these turds to stop calling until the attorney general gets a injunction against them.
They are relentless criminals.

It's been invented and I bought one.  It's a life saver.  It works perfectly.  You can block all 800, 888, 855 numbers plus a list of any full number you want.  I paid $50 I think for it.  I have Verizon FIOS land line and I swear this thing works great.  Was worth every dollar times Ten.  My phone never rings anymore unless its someone I really want to talk to.

EM I have the solution to give you the peace and quiet you want. Give all the telemarting scammers mandatory jail time once you report them and then they call you a second time. That will stop the calls.

Apogee, a for profit agency (Unique Thrift Stores), under contract with Lupus, who receives very tiny percent of the value of your donation. Requesting that they put you on their internal do not call list does not work. What a continuous scam.
While they are legally soliciting for a registered charity, I urge everyone who wants to to donate clothing or household goods to find a charity that gives the items, or profit from their sale, directly to the needy.

This operation called twice in lean than a week. In my opinion this is not a worthy cause.

This is the second call from these telelmaggoters. As with the last call, it rang once and the phone ended the call. They obviously don't understand English.

These guys pester me several times a day, every day. I work nights and they frequently interrupt my much needed sleep- I can't turn the phone off because I'm also on call- I'm so angry- they are ruining my health! I've tried emailing  michellem@apogeeretail.com as suggested by another poster. We'll see if that accomplishes anything.

IMHO, if they are on the up&up,show your name on caller ID.

I received another call from these telemaggoters. I find it appalling that this so called charity has the nerve to continue to call even though I have requested to be put on their do not call list on several occasions. Every time I have made this request, they give me the same line by saying they will give the information to their supervisor. I have never donated to this inconsiderate organization and based on my experience I never will!

The fact is I have made repeated requests to be put on their do not call list and they have not done so. As far as
I am concerned, this is not an honorable organization. Otherwise they would have stopped calling.

Calls everyday around 9 am.  Annoying

They call every other day and some how they get through even though I have blocked the number.

Put this number and others like it on your Blocked list before you go so far as to change your number.  Careful maintenance of a Blocked list will go a long way toward getting rid of these calls.  Some land line hand sets will allow you to block numbers.  You cell phone provider offers this service for a fee in the $5/mo. range.  When you get the "list full" message, delete that list and start a new one with the numbers these pests are currently using.

No organization that uses a caller ID of "Out of area," as this one routinely does, can possibly be honest.  Save your money.

I am devious.  I keep them on the phone for up to 20 minutes while I pretend to look for information and get details and I  tell  them I am 92 years old so they have to be patient.  I ask questions over and over   I tell them to hold on for a few minutes and I just leave them hanging.   Finally I yell FYOU into the phone and hang up.  My little sick mind.
