After my wife had a stroke I started taking care of the bank statements. After a while I noticed two charges for NUF with numbers. I called the number and spoke with an operator who was very disappointed I wanted to cancel but when I explained they would either cancel the two policies or I would close out my Wells Fargo accounts and change banks, she reluctantly said she would cancel them and gave me a cancellation number. What a rip off and I'm keeping my eye on my account statement.

This is not to report a phone call but I am just wondering if anyone has had their money refunded from the Accident Insurance Co. working with USBank? I just found out I have been being billed 30.80 a month since June of 2009!!! I don't remember ever signing up for "Hospital Accident Protection" insurance, yet this has been coming out of my USBank account for four years. ( I once did notice a charge to "HAP" on my bill, but there was no 800 number to call, and at such a wierd amount I thought maybe it was to some gas station or something.) It is terrible insurance, and I would not have agreed to it, or if I did, would've cancelled long ago but was never sent any sort of yearly statement, nothing, I had no idea I even had it! I only found out about it because the co. switched to Affinion and I was sent a notice. I intend to sue if they don't make a full refund. The fraud department at USBank will only go back 60 days. Anyone have any advice?

The company is National Union Fire Insurance Company and they handle individual accident insurance plans through AIG. All customer service and outbound phone sales departments are through call centers, so do not be afraid to request to hear the recording if they say it was offered over the phone, because call center agents have been known to bend the rules to get their sales commission. If you were offered a year free, then you signed a form without reading the multiple pages included, no excuses. Either way, everyone you speak with over the phone has a job to do, and because they do not work directly for AIG, that does not amount to much. Rest assured, if you remain professional yet direct throughout the whole process, you will reach a solution. Also do not be afraid to request another copy of your policy. Whether or not you feel you signed up for it, it is still yours and you can certainly file claims on it, even if you cancel. Once you cancel, you can still request a copy by sending a letter but it will take a while. NUFIC only offers policies through banks so once you cancel your policy, your bank has to offer you another one. If you cancel in anger and have a change of heart later, don't bother calling to try to get it back.

I would love to have that address to claim a refund for the several years worth of premiums (why are all our premiums a different amount?).  My bad, but I am elderly and it seems that's who these banks are preying on!!

I did not get a call but this offer for insurance was offered through Citizens Bank and cancelled about one year ago. Now, there is is a $29.95 debit unauthorized debit on my bank statement with phone #866-914-6148 NUF. Also, this unauthorized withdrawal caused a NSF with fee to me. This is fraud.

It's happening with CITIZENS BANK Credit Cards Too!!  also Got a $33 charge today. Citizen's Southern agents had "no clue or phone number" for this only the same codes most everyone here got. They took off the charges. We never approve these types of offers and NEVER cash checks or the like.  If this is happening since before 2009 why isn't the gov't helping. Then again, they never figured out how 3 towers in NYC were imploded by only 2 "planes".

It has happened to me for the past year, without my knowledge! I had them send me the so-called voice recording of me authorizing the so-called free one year health insurance come to find out they DIDN'T have it! Go figure! I have had a hell of a time getting them to give me my money back... and they still haven't. Can we say law suit!!!!

I claimed it as fraud with US Bank and they told me it was a legitimate charge and there was nothing they can do.  I am now trying to get in touch with the company itself.  I don't understand why the monthly charge is different for everyone.  I have been having $29.95 deducted every month and haven't been able to find out why til now.  Thanks for your comment and everyone else's with phone numbers etc.  This is infuriating especially when you try to live pay check to paycheck.

Turns out that this is a VALID charge.  Everyone who got charged had signed up for a FREE Hospitalization Insurance policy that was offered to US Bank customers.  After the free year, the charges are automatically made to your account.  Remember it or not, this was the deal you agreed to when you signed up for the free insurance.  Anyway, call 888-449-4544 and you can ask for help with your situation.  I simply had them stop the automatic charge, send me a copy of the insurance policy, and switched to manual billing.  I'm sure I could have cancelled, but the added hospitalization insurance didn't sound too bad.  So, I'll have a look at the policy and will cancel if it looks like it's not worth it.

I recieved a charge on my credit card of $29.46 with the description of NUF*IPP INS.  Did not know what this was so I called US Bank.  They said it was a vaild charge for and insurance policy.  I later found out that my husband had been scamed.  Not sure what they told him, but he does not know his debit card from his credit card, so leads me to believe that US Bank already had the number.  This has since been cancelled after a number of phone calls.  US Bank did reverse all my fees, however I feel very violated by US Bank.  There had to be a reference to US Bank for my husband to have OK'ed the transaction.  But since he is hard of hearing he may not have understood what he said OK to.  We are retired and are tired of getting tele-marketing calls to swindel us into these types of deals.  Tele-marketing should be banded for all companies.  If we as consumers want something we will go and purchase it.  We do not need to be called on the phone and convinced of something we know nothing about!  We are very disappointed in US Bank after being a customer for over 50 years.

Telemarketer
The worms at NUF AD INS. have hit my BofA VISA Card for $11. for past three months. Have had to contact bank each time to get the charge removed. Pain in the a**! Do NOT call these people at NUF back! They will then have your phone number and pass it on to a telemarketer!
BofA told me to call NUF @ 877.841.9188 to get charges stopped. I ain't that stupid. Do it through your bank folks. Use the number for "dispute charges" from your bank. BofA number to dispute charges is 800.457.3693.

I questioned the Bank (also U.S.) and they provided me with the phone number attached to the transaction (888-449-4544) and when the options come up-ignore them and push "0" and you will get a live person.  The company is Fireman's Fund Insurance (www.firemansfund.com) and after speaking with him, I do recall that the policy (in my case a supplemental insurance policy) was solicited to U.S. Bank customers and there was a free period to be followed by the monthly deductions.  Unfortunately, as is often the case the policy probably came and was pitched as junk mail and I forgot about it.

I just got of the phone with Nuf Ad&d Insurance (now I know what Nuf really means Now your f----d), their blaming U.S. bank, the bank is saying that i authorized Nuf, over the phone, to take money out of my account, I didn't get any paper work or sign any thing, which means that the bank gave them my account # and they  used it 4 times in 3 months, along with 2 over draft fees from the bank and Nuf parent company is AIG you remember them. I've tried to be civil with both sides,so anybody doing this class action stuff, count me in( lwalls@ca.rr.com),Out right stealing, I'm going to the bank tomorrow, and it ain't to make a deposit.Gonna have a serious talk'

I just called this # and there closed on fri, I got the # from someone at U.S. Bank, that said they are affiliated with AIG Insurance, who is the parent company for Pmt Nuf Ad&d Insurance who has billed me (4) times in the last (3) months, for $25.95 twice in Dec. (01/04/11 & 01/31/11)  the later causing an overdraft fee of $33.00., also one in Nov. After causing a commotion and closing my alleged account with Nuf , I found out the bank waived one of the overdraft fees in Dec. I've just began my fight, don't know who they think they are,but they will lose. This is bullitsh

This was a AD&D Policy and it also went through USBANK, We first contacted the bank but they said they had no idea what those charges were, ha ha  They know what they are they're just trying to not have to deal with them. Now seeings the insurance company told me that USBANK did offer the policy for $1000 for free but if you selected that you wanted a higher amount or a family plan the cost of course  would go up. Personally I think that seeings the bank did offer the insurance initially they should be held responsible aqnd should be made to never offer things like this again and should have to pay a fine or maybe refund any and all withdrawals from anyone who has had this happen to them.

This has happened to my Daughter as well, I did a search for NUF AD&D NS800, I finally found a number for a company that looked promising. I called them and they said that they where in fact the company that was taking money out automatically every month from my Daughters checking account. I did them to close get the insurance account/policy in my Daughters name, I also requested that they refund the money they took out of her account, they needed my Daughters permission to do all this because she is 20yrs old. Now we will wait to see if they do what they said they would do. If they don't I will report them to the federal fraud department and the Bank as well

Unfortunately, banks must refund those fraudulent charges that only occurred within the last 60 days under current law. You can try a lawsuit but am not certain any lawyer will accept the case because this area is regulated by the Feds and clearly spelled out. Their defense will be your grandma should have been reading her monthly bank statements and the 60-day window is supposed to give her 2 statement cycles to detect the fraud. Good luck.

Yes this is very sad. My grandma banks with wells fargo, and I have recently noticed that they have been deducting almost $60.00 a month since August if 2010. I'm going to file a police report and try to collect the funds taken from the bank itself. They should held accountable for letting company's sneak monies out of individuals accounts. I've never even heard if Nuf it says on her statement fire insurance and she doesn't even own any property. We live in such a corrupt world, I agree with one if the comments we should most definitely try and get a class action suit.

We have been getting the same charge every month for at least the last 18 months.  I just discovered it tonight, the charge descriotion being NUF IPP INSR 800 -572-5848 8379 4245602700 D HARRISON.  We bank with Wells Fargo.  Over the last couple of years we have been getting mail offering Wells Fargo sponsored insurance of one tyoe or another, but I have never responded to the letters nor given anyone the authority to make the month charges to our account.  I will be calling Wells Fargo first thing Monday morning to start finding out what the hell is going on.  I agree with the idea of a class action suit

I received a letter several months ago offering this 'insurance' because I was a holder of an account at US Bank. I never authorized or approved such, but this outfit recently withdrew $25.90 from my account. I never gave them any banking information, never wanted this 'coverage', and had no desire to be involved with it. When I called them, they gave me the run around and 'will review' my case and 'maybe' refund MY money. Crooks. Now I have to close my account, as it is clearly no longer secure. Worse yet, the letter came in an envelope with US Bank logo, so what gives? Even the bank seems to have no idea, though the banker was aware that 'something' is going on. Guess my new bank account is going to be a box at home!
