I received the same call, told them i was in a meeting and they said ok sorry for the inconvenience. Later today they called me back and i missed their call. I called the number back and they answered with my name. I told them to not send me anything because they are a scam. Once we got off the call i called it back and it said it was after their business hours. It is 5:28 here, it said they were open from 9am to 9pm. Hmmm sounds very shady, so i canceled my debit card.

They called my cell number! That raised my suspicions instantly! I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I googled the number and saw many negative comments. I then called them and was surprised that I actually got through to a human voice! I was told that I was eligible for an award through my Visa card. I cut her off telling her that I had already lookied the number up and thought this was a scam, take my name off your list and I am calling my bank. She sounded taken aback and thanked me for my call.

I received a call concerning my Visa. She quoted my last four numbers. Said I was entitled to $100 worth of free something or another. I told her three times I wasn't interested before I finally just hung up. Why do we get these calls when we're on the NO-CALL list???

Received a call on my cell phone from Platinum Shield...the female caller stuttered when I asked for a call back number as if she didn't know it.  I hung up and called the number showing up on my caller ID...I spoke with a Mark Garcia...I instructed him to remove my number from their database and do not call me again. With which, he replied, he would do just that.

I, too, got a call from this number on my cell phone this afternoon. It was a woman, and I couldn't understand her when she supposedly told me the name of the company. I asked her 3 times to repeat it, but it was garbled...on purpose, obvioisly. She, too, had a Spanish accent. She asked me if the man with my first name (it's obviously a woman's name) was home who has a Visa card with the last 4 digits. I asked her where she got this information, and she said my bank. Since I don't use a bank, I use a Credit Union, I knew it was phishing. She DID, however, have my correct address. But the last 4 digits she had were for a card I no longer have.

I had cancelled that old Visa Debit card when my Credit Union called me Feb. 2009 and told me that Marshall's data base had been stolen. My name came up as a person who had made a purchase there using this Visa Debit card. We reviewed my account, and verified that no unauthorized charges had been made on my account. So, the rep immediately cancelled that card and overnighted a new one with a new numvber to me (it was overnighted coz I use my debit card for all of my purchases).

From the posts here, it sounds like the stolen Marshall's data base has shown up somewhere or perhaps was sold to a foreign country, and they're trying to use those card numbers. If you used a credit card at Marshall's or any of its affiliates during Dec. 2008 - Feb. 2009, then call you bank/credit union and CANCEL THE CARD NOW!

called my cell #. Called back and asked to remove my # since I am on Do Not Call List. Something about rewards.  I asked her to tell me where she got my # from and she said from one of their affiliates, whom she could not divulge to me due to their contract, but I must have OK'd through an ad or something I bought through the internet. I haven't bought anything from the internet since XMas, but I had started to sign up for Healthe Trim and just never finished purchasing recently. Maybe they got my info from there? I usually uncheck the box for allowing them to share my info though. Anyone else?

Just got a call from them on my cell.  Asked her name (Isabelle) had a filipino accent and company was Platinum Shield.  I asked her for a call back number and she said "may I ask why" and I said because I would like to call you back.  She said she could call me back and she again wanted to know why. Told her I wanted to see if she was legitimate.  She said you can call back the number on your caller ID.  Asked her why she didnt' know the number.  Didn't answer me.  Asked her to take me off the list and then said "hello, hello, hello. I can't hear you, hello."  Told her I know you can hear me take me off your list.  A**holes.

Same # called my cell phone. Thanks for those who entered the comments previous to mine. I did not answer, but I think this is the number from about 2 months ago that I did answer and it had an automated message asking me to press certain numbers for yes or no re: whether or not I wanted to add benefits to my "credit card". They did not mention what company they were!

I got the same call. My bank told me to cancel my debit card because they are phishing!!!!! Try calling the number back now that you have talked to them. It will say that it is after their business hours even after they say on the call they are open from 9a, to 9pm and it is 5:40 here.

I got a call from this number that stated they had recieved my information from a third party that I had recently made a purchase from. When I asked them which company had given them my information they stated they could not give me that information due to consumer privacy laws. Anyways the call just did not sound right and after I told the person that I did not give her my information myself and if she would give me the name of the company she was calling from and if I could talk to her supervisor she hung up on me.

Also wanted to give me "rewards" on my Visa card. Must be a scam because I work at the bank that the Visa is from, and we don't offer rewards on those cards.
