This is collections for AT&T, 9 months ago I asked them for an accounting of past die amount, 9 months later I got an invoice that showed a credit of $14.52. Then they doctored the total amount due to over $377.00, so they forged the credit invoice. They are dishonest, report them!

Calls daily with no message/voicemail left (including Saturdays and Sundays at odd hours). I am on the Federal Do Not Call List - cease and desist immediately. Trap/Trace initiated with phone company AGAIN. To whomever you are, robodialer or person, when my phone provider has enough repeated traces to turn over to law enforcement you are screw-ed.

Second call today, eighth this week. No message left, rings until call goes to voicemail. Only the number is displayed on caller ID - I do not recognize this number.

The number keeps calling. It knows the name of my biz which is crazy because they are calling my cell which not under my name and it's also unlisted. Only friends and family have this number.I would like to know how they got it! Also, why aren't they calling my biz phone which is publicly listed?

I left it to go to voicemail, but after the usual 8 rings, a ninth ring kept going on. and a tenth, and so on. It just kept ringing for some reason! I counted them out to see what it was. and it counted 46 rings until I pressed ignore on my home phone.

There's debt collector logic for you. Their predictive dialer needs you to drop everything for "important business" yet keeps you guessing as to what that is. Your best response depends on whether CBA has a debt claim with your name on it.
The so-very-urgent matter is that someone can score a commission or bonus if you pay without question during your call. You might owe money, but you don't owe any answers on the phone. In fact, you should only extract them from the reps if you can, and never assume their verbal claims are correct.
If the agency thinks you owe something, be sure to respond on real paper to its federally required dunning letter with a dispute and validation request. Until the agency validates, it cannot make a peep to collect. In case validation is sent, your dispute notice may add a request to limit phone calls to certain hours, days and/or numbers. You can also declare ''all calls are inconvenient''. The agency legally *must* obey. Be certain one ''convenient'' channel is open, such as a postal address, else the agency will be pressured to sue you to collect.
If the account cannot legally be collected, or it's simply not you the agency wants, you're free to send a full ''cease-communication'' notice, cutting off all contact. Indicate which phone numbers and addresses are off-limits. You're not giving away anything the agency can't already know or find.
Send all notices via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at an agency's risk of a lawsuit from you. Pay close attention to all communications and document them well. If those contacts yield legal violations, you may collect *from* the collectors through a judge or arbitrator.

This number has called me at least a dozen times saying it has important business for me. One time there was no message. Another time it had recorded music. I have stopped listening to the messages and hang up once I have answered. I don't want it leaving a message in my voice mail. How do I get it to stop?

This is a collection agency. Collection Bureau of America Hayward California www.paycba.com. I have had to deal with them and they are extremely rude. I was even going to pay a small amount on a debt, just to be paying at least SOMETHING and they hung up on me. So if you have to deal with them, be forewarned, they are extremely rude. Try to get TrapCall and record any phone conversations with them if you could.
