Same happened to my mother.  A $31.95 was charged to her RBC Visa Card. I Called 1-888-454-6364 and a very kind gentleman listened patiently to me and informed me that the charges would be reversed immediately.

However, I have power of attorney now for my elderly mother, and looking back through her records I notice that she has been paying for this service since 1998.

It's only around $511.00  that she's paid out over 16 years, but for something, that now understanding, was "optional"?

I guess .... a case of "Caveat emptor."

I got charged 80$ on my credit card. The description says ENREGISTART8884546364( Mississauga On).
I called them. A representative says that it was a credit card protection service which my husband registered three years ago.
As per my husband, he did cancel it. But the company continued the service and recently has renewed it without letting us know. After several attempts to get me to stay with their protection service, I was able to cancel it. The rep. mentioned that the refund will be shown on my next credit card statement. I shall see it.... Just calling them with a few minutes wait is really wasting my time.

I also got charged $31.49 on my Royal Bank VISA statement.  When I phoned, they explained the "insurance" & that I had agreed in 2001 to accept the service over the phone.  This is not something I would agree to.  I don't purchase additional insurance.  I kept telling the man to take the charge off my account as I did not want the service.  He kept repeating several times that he would mail an explanation as to what the service does but I told him again & again & again that I did not agree to it and I did not want the service.  After arguing with the guy for over half an hour, he said he would credit the charge on my next statement.  Now, I have the pay the charge & wait for my next statement because if I just omit paying this amount, I will get charged interest charges forever for this amount.  On checking my last year's statement I found they had indeed charged this same amount and probably every year since 2001.  Unfortunately it got by me as I thought it was a legitimate charge for something my daughter has used the card for.  So I am really, really angry.  How in the world can corporations get away with this.  Why aren't they forced to get approval in writing instead of by phone.  Does anyone know how we can get this money back to the beginning???

I signed up for this Card Registry service (Card Assist) about 5 years ago.  I called them two years ago to cancel my subscription and get a refund.  I was told my subscription would be cancelled but a refund would not be possible.  The gentleman on the phone told me a note would be put on my file, so the subscription would not be renewed.  I was recently charged again for this service, even though I cancelled two years ago.  This company needs to be reported to the better business bureau.  I recommend that no one uses any of their services.

Call us and ask for refund. If not have your Bank call them because they called on behalf of your bank. This is a scam by Aimia and your Bank.

Just had $79.09 billed to my Master Card..Called. MC and they didn't know what it was for. So I called the number on the statement and was told it was combined with another offer  from BMO as a 2 month free trial.I guess I have been paying this every 3 years since 2004. After they went through the song and dance as to how wonderful it would be for me to keep this, they said they would cancel this charge and credit my card and I would no longer receive any further charges. Now I just have to wait and see,and be a little more diligent when checking my statements

Got $31.49 on my BMO M/C - I called the number on the bill 8884546364 and they've cancelled it? or did they?  thanks to this site - I called my BMO card right away myself and reported it to put warning on my file. If they charge again or do weird things that it be noted.. this company's website is definately a fishy one - even if i wanted a service of such type, i would never go with a company that has such a "homemade" website...here is the info on the ownership if anyone needs it...just looked it up on godaddy

Got a $80.48 fee on my MC.  I call BMO and it's a card protection service I " agreed " to back in 2004!
Every 3 years they have been charging me.  I check my 2010 statement and there it was.  I call the 1-888 number cancelled the "service" and demanded a refund.  BMO said to make sure you cancel AND get a refund, and get a cancellation # and the representatives id #.  I was to I would be refunded in 3 days.  I will check my online statement before pay this bill....

I've had the CRDRegistry charge my Visa Account every year. This year it was $31.49. I finally called this number to cancel it: 1-800-456-4042. I talked to a very polite lady. She told me I've with them since 1998. I don't remember signing anything, but apparently the service was offered to me by the RBC.
When I told her I'd like to cancel, she tried to keep me from doing so by explaining why I should keep the service, but I declined. She didn't  insist and said she'd cancel it and would refund my money. Hopefully, there will be no problem.

I also received a charge on my bank account
in order to cancel this charge I found that you must call the company at 1-866-414-8513
You must also have the actual address you were living at including the postal code when the credit cards were taken out . You do not need to give out any banking information as they already have it apparently.
Don't hang up, stay on the line, I found it to be a very trying experience until I finally got someone to cancel this charge.  Good Luck

My Bank Account was charged with a " credit card protection service". Seemingly I agreed to this charge when acquiring my credit cards .I was unaware that this was a service that was being offered as like most people I did not enquire about this type of service nor did I read all the fine print (IF IT WAS ACTUALLY INCLUDED IN THE FINE PRINT). I have since found out that this charge must be cancelled by contacting the actual company and not through your bank. Be aware that even if you cancel your credit cards this charge will continue. You must actually call the company (1-866-414-8513) to cancel the charge.  You must also have the proper address you were living at when this service was started including the postal code, not your current address. Good luck it was a very trying experience both with my bank (TD) and with the first person I dealt with, luckily I have been able to cancel this charge which has been ongoing for several years after I had cancelled my credit cards.

Looks like I'm the latest one to find out I've been ripped off by this company.  After looking at my Visa bill today, I noticed a charge for 73.45 and decided to call RBC regarding it.  They had no idea what I was talking about regarding the company, and immediately started a reversal/dispute, as well as changing my card number and blocking the company.  So I decided to call this credit company and find out what was going on.  All I got was the run around.  First the lady asked for my address to verify who I was. To which I refused to give them because I never agreed to any credit reporting service.  Then I was asked for previous address, again, I've moved 5 times in the last 10 years, so how would I know which address to give.  After some time and aggravation, she decided to give me a "hint" on when I "signed" up.  So I gave her the only address I could have lived at when she mentioned it.  And wouldn't you know, it wasn't the one she had in the system.  Well this is the point where I start to lose my cool.  I basically told them the choices they have are to tell me when I "signed" up, or my next two phone calls are to the RCMP for fraud charges, and a lawyer to recoup money and damages.  All of a sudden, she can magically tell me exactly when I started.  Again, I gave her the address I was living at at the time, and no match, which is odd because I lived there for 6 years, 4 before I was ever contacted by this sham company.  This nonsense went on for another ten minutes, and basically ended with me telling them I either talk to a manager, because this person was an idiot, or I contact authorities.  I'm still waiting to hear from them, and the RBC is investigating this as a fraud.

This is a service I signed up for 3 or more years ago. We all agreed verbally to enroll in the program. They get you by saying that you are free to call and cancel before a set timeframe and you will not be charged. Obviously enough of us forgot to do so or they conveniently "have no record" of the cancellation.

After seeing a charge of $80.44 to my account I called to get a refund and to unenroll. I was told that it is a non refundable service. When I was assured it was a non refundable charge, I simply and calmly stated that I would be filing a stop payment with Visa. I was then "put on hold" as the associate "spoke with her supervisor". Was given a full credit and my subscription to the service was ended.

The moral of the story is to never let such scam companies send you "free information".

Called the number, tried to cancel the charges and were told that they dont have a record of my VISA number and that it must be under an old card number. I asked them how they could possibly charge me without my number. No answer. My bank told me that the "merchant" pushed these charges through and on to my new card number. Unbelievable. He made the call for me, spoke to the rep, and transferred me to the rep. The rep still couldn't find me via my old credit card number. I had to dig up my old addresses and play a game of "Is it Apartment 503 or?...oh you're so close. Guess again," I recall recieving calls from these people claiming to be calling on behalf of my bank and trying to get me onto a "three month" trial period where I can cancel anytime. I ask them to send me information but not to sign me up. Apparently this was my mistake. Asking them to send me the information automatically signed me up. Just tell them where to go when you get this call.

Yes, I got got billed for almost $76 the other day. I rarely use my credit card. Just talked to my bank and they referred me to this number. I've been on hold for almost 15 min now. Someone answered my call right away and put me on hold. Listening to really crappy music right now. I'm filing a complaint with the RCMP tomorrow and see what I can do to stop this company.
