Carol Klien called my mother’s home and told her to get me to call as soon as I received this message. It was in reference to a case number and telling her she was with the US District Court of New York. Then she tells my mother it is important I call because the people she works for (US District Court) are not the type of people you want to mess with. They will break my legs and possibly kill me. She had a made up phone number for me that I never had and she got my mother to give her my current number. Because she made threats about killing me the police have taken action. She called my home this morning and the call was successfully traced. I only hope she is located in the USA. Because the police will soon be knocking at her door.

I RECIEVED A CALL FROM MS. CAROL KLINE ON 08/28/08 - SAID I HAD A CASE PENDING AGAINST ME AND I OWED 1800.00 BUT SHE WOULD SETTLE FOR $ 300.00 - THE PHONE KEPT RINGING IN THE BACKGROUND AND SHE SAID IT WAS THE JUDGE BUT HE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT B/C THIS MATTER WAS SO IMPORTANT - I TOLD HER I DIDNT HAVE ANY MONEY AND WOULD TRY AND WORK SOMETHING OUT BY THE END OF THE DAY - SHE TOLD ME I HAD 30 MINUTES TO CALL BACK OR SHE WOULD FILE THE SUIT AGAINST ME - THEN LEFT AGGRESSIVE MESSAGES THE REST OF THE DAY - LETS SEE WHAT SHE DOES TOMORROW - SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS !

I just got a call from Crol Kline as well and she was looking for my sister and said that she had some money coming to her. I took her number and name, She asked me if she could trust me to give her the info. I told her that I could not promise that she will call her back. I will now only warn my sister abut this fraud of a person. Thanks for all who have posted this warning.

My mother got a call from a Carol Kline saying she was trying to track me down to keep me out of court. She was very rude and short with her and would not give her any information. My mom passed her name and number to me and I called her. She told me that She worked for a law office in NY and that I was being sued by Consolidated Readers Service for $1,100 and that she could make it go away for $325. Then as the conversation went on the fee went up to $1,800 and she could now get me out of it for $300.

These charges were 8 years ago so when I got her off the phone I did some research on the statues of limitations and tried to call her back and only got her voice mail. When I called her right back on a second number she answered and hung up on me when I asked her about the statue of limitations being 6 years.

She is a fraud and should not be trusted none of the the information she gave me checked out.

The caller id on my phone listed the call  was from NARS 716 874-4392. She left a message with my husband of the phone number 888-475-5270.

She told him that I needed to call her in the morning or this case will be turned over to the courts and I would need an attorney.  She provided him with a case number. He contacted me and told me when i wasn't busy to call him. I was at work. I called him right away and he gave me the message worried what it was about.  I called the toll free number he gave me and Cindy Cline or Klein, (not sure of spelling) answered.  She informed me that she worked for a court house and an attorney. She said she did not have the case in front of her and asked if i would call her back in the morning. I was so upset that she heard the worry and she told me not to worry and that she is there to help me. She also stated in the conversation how we can get this resolved before going to the courts. She would not tell me any information until she had the case infront of her cause she does 9-10 cases a day. She called my house at 4:24pm.

I was really concerned about this and the more i thought about it, it didn't add up. I left work to come home to research the information that i had available through yahoo and google. Google is where i found my answers Please follow link to read other stories like mine about this same person.

I searched on google by the 888 phone number and got the results. Amazed at what i read and it is the same woman. All the articles sound like our encounter and I wanted to warn people.

Now armed with the information that i found on the internet, I can sleep better tonight and be ready for her call at 9:05am. I'm eager to hear her story. Then I'm going to give her my attorneys name and phone number and advise her to contact him

I've spent the past day or two trying to figure out exactly how Ms. Klein is trying to "help me."  Of course, [in the most vague of tones] she claims to know my situation and this company's situation "real well" because she's dealt with it so many times before.  However, when I ask her specific questions a few days after her initial call, she has no recollection of my case at all, her efforts to provide me a "common courtesy" are of no use to me now, and I'm hereafter at the mercy of the law because it's "been turned over to the courts and it's out of her hands."  I began to become truly concerned over the matter and then it dawned on me...Throughout the entire ordeal, this woman has time and time again referred to me by my nickname, not my given (legal) name.  Why would a woman perporting to provide "LEGAL advice" refer to a client she has never met by anything other than his LEGAL name?

Also, the number she instructed me to call her at, as most of you have indicated, was 1(888)475-5270.  However, my Verizon Voicemail System said that the call was placed from the number (716)874-4392.  I did a reverse number search on whitepages.com, and the number was listed to someone other than Ms. Klein.

i also got a phone call from carol klein sayin consolidated readers were going to take me to court.i told her my dad's lawyer wanted to see the paperwork she got even more rude.she told me for 475.00 she could make this go away,that she would do whatever it took to put this company out of business.she also called from 716-874-4392.she is really rude and won't take no for an answer so be careful.

If you recieve phone calls like this, please report to your local police department.  They send all of these accounts to the Federal Trade Commission.  The FTC will not be able to persue these SOB's until they have at least 500 complaints.  Do not verify or give them any information!  It is a complete scam!  Take every precaution you can.  Place flags on your bank accounts and put fraud alerts on your credit reports!  Be very careful not to verify any personal information.

This woman called me. Total scam. This time her story is that she is trying to help me. "A company wants to sue me but she has won cases against them in the past and will help me". I did not let her go on. I made an excuse to get off the line and got her number and name (spelling above). I was contacted two years ago by possibly her partners or other scammers. The magazine publishing companies (this one American Publishers) sell your information if you cancel service with them. DO NOT SEND HER YOUR MONEY. Report this name and number everywhere you can.

Hello,  I received a message from this same person and when I returned the call about an hour later.  She said she couldn't tell me anything because the court (in NY) was closed.    She was extremely rude, would not give me any information.  I asked who she worked for only said "legal advice services in NY".  I asked for a supervisor, she said she was the boss and ran the whole organization and hung up on me.  This was not the first time.  Nor the last.   I was determined to find out what was going on and why she was calling me.   She only continued to hang up as I would speak.  A couple of times she picked up the phone only to quickly hang up.  Ultimately she turned on her answering machine.  In the first conversation she said she would call me back tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., I guess we will see.

Well Carol Kline has called my work number and apparently she doesn't know it is a government phone number and so I will have to report her to NCIS.  She left a voice message on Monday, June 16 and again on Tuesday, June 17 telling me I needed to call her back, that it was imparitive she speak to me in reference to a court case.  The phone number she gave was 888-475-5720

I have gotten several calls from this Carol Kline..i have not answered the phone because it comes up PRIVATE CALLER, but she leaves these messages on my answering machine saying that i need to get back with her about a case and if i didn't she would take me to court.. I checked with the courthouse and there are no cases on me....But to get my number she calls my mother and told my mother that i gave her that number to get in touch with me if i needed her....

"Carol Kline (supposedly working for a legal advice agency) called me and informed me that I was being sued by Consolidated Readers.  Carol told me that instead of me paying over 2000.00 in court she would settle for 600.00.  I told her that I didn't have the money, but I would call her back.  I had an uneasy feeling, and decided to look her up. Ahhhhhhh my feeling was right.  She won't stop calling, but I will continue to ignore her.

"Carol Kline" left a message at my old job saying apparently that I must call her that day in reference to some court case or else.  I found it all a little sketchy because they called a number of a place that I haven't worked at in over a year and making these kinds of threats.  There's no "court case" that has been filed against me, or else I would have received notification of such case.  Don't trust this person.  I would just ignore her if I were you.

person said they was carol cline and then threated my mother with a lawsut if she didnot give her my phone number. the when my mom still would not give it to her she called my mom all kinds of bad names.  then one day when i was at my grandmothers she called for me andused my mothers voice to ask if i was there. when i said it was me she then with anouther voice said she was just verifing that this was a googd number and hung up.
