Debt Collector
This is a debt collection company.  They called my husband a work about an account that he nor I have ever had.  There are several other people with the same first and last names as my husband in the metroplex area.  It is definitely not our debt.  They are grasping at straws hoping someone with that name will bite.

Just some friendly advice- don't give them any information.  Its there burden of proof.  Companies like this are looking for anyone to take the bait and they will dump this debt on you even if its not yours.  Ask for them to send something in writing to validate the debt.  Never give your social security number, even the last 4 digits.

Hope this helps.

My identity was stolen several years back, so I?ve become very familiar with these scumbags.  If I accidentally pick up the phone on one of their calls, I tell them to hold on a minute, and then I put the phone down.  When I check back in an hour, they are usually gone.
Then I block their number and they sell the debt to the next scumbag collection agency.  They are toothless; they can't do anything to you except be rude.
The POS who stole my identity ordered a CitiCard and ran up $22,000 in purchases.  Since then, Citi sold the debt to a POS collection agency for probably $200.  That POS sold it to the next POS for probably $20.  Now the sixth POS, The Law Office of Joe Pezzuto, is calling, trying to scare me into paying $22,000 on his $20 investment.  POS.
These POS companies are thrilled if they can collect 10% of the debts they buy.  They hire meth heads fresh out of prison to call on commission.  Don't expect refinement.
Anyway, today Danilo Siskin called from The Law Office of Joe Pezzuto.  Danilo needs a fix.   He left a voicemail message, and he could barely stay on script.  Poor POS.  He called from 623-207-7460, demanded I call 888-478-8250.  They also use 888-478-8090.
Anyway, after Danilo left his shaky strung-out message, he failed to hang up the phone.  I heard a POS in the boiler room yell in a cheery voice, ?I ripped another sh*thead and got $895!?.  The room erupted with cheers.  Sorry lowlife meth-head tweakers.
So here?s what happens if you want to buy them off.  Say for example you have a $1,000 six year old debt being sold among the POS companies.  First, check the statute of limitations for your state.  Then, realize that they probably paid $10 - $20 for the debt.  They will probably offer to settle the debt for "only" $700.  Then they might agree to accept $25 per month payments.
You send in the $25.  What happens next?  First, they call you the next day and every day thereafter, all day, demanding the rest of the $1,000 immediately.  Also, the statute of limitations starts over from zero and your credit report gets dinged again.
Here's the funnest part. Suppose you actually send $100 to settle the $1,000 debt.  They are thrilled because they got $100 for the $10 investment.  Then they send the IRS a Form 1099C for the $900 of forgiven debt. The IRS considers forgiven debt to be regular income.  Your income tax bill will be bigger than expected.
 Are we having fun yet?
Do the world a favor.  Call their toll free numbers as often as you can.  They get to pay for it.  888-478-8250 and 888-478-8090. Keep their lines too busy for them to actually call out.

I am going to send this message to my lawyer that I have retained. Don't they know its against the law to contact and harass a person on their job.

I got a call looking for a Debra Mayfield. I have no idea who that is. Thanks to this listing, I won't be calling these people back. I'd be more than willing to help if I had any info, but if they're going to use the kinds of bullying tactics everyone here has described, they can find Ms. Mayfield on their own.

I called back and the woman asked for the last four of our social.  She threatened to keep calling our number.  Really sick of these slime balls surfing the Internet looking for phone numbers of people who owe them money.  Anyone in the country with the name, they tag them, and everyone they know, and harrass.  There has to be something done about this.

Got a call where they left a message looking for location information on a person.  The guy who called said his name is Hector Rojo.  Hey Hector, get al real job instead of calling everyone phone number in the world to track down people who probably do not even have any money or job anymore in the Obamanomics economy.  Better yet call obama maybe he can help, NOT!  Just stop calling other people's numbers to locate someone.  I am not a snitch, even if i did know who you where looking for I wouldn't rat them out to scum like you.

Received a call that showed as a local number so I answered.  The guy, Larry Gottfried, said he was calling from the Law Office of Joe Pezzuto.  I asked for the mailing address, and it's located in Phoenix.  That ticked me off that they are ghosting local numbers so people will pick up the phone.  I asked to how they came through on a local number.  The guy started giving me attitude.  I asked for validation of the debt and they said they sent it out on June 3rd.  He asked if I was going to take care of this.  I stated once we got validation of the debt I would address it.  He kept harrassing me if I was going to take care of it.  What were my intentions?  I stated that once we received validation of the debt and if it was valid, we would address it.  Kept going over it and over it.  Once we get validation and determine if it is valid, I'm going to call the originator of the debt and deal with them.

They called me today asking for my friend who they say listed me as a contact person. She and I haven't been in contact for 15 yrs, so I doubt she listed me as anyone important. I asked what it was regarding and was told it was "personal". I told the woman it can't be too personal if they don't realize I haven't lived with that roommate in over 15 yrs.

I really get tired of these people calling me.  They say that I owe a loan company over $1,000.00 but that they will settle for $462.08.  The last time they called me I told them that I didn't get any money back from my student loans and they asked if i could pay 25.00 a month.  The guys name was Robert.  They didn't call every day but they called me about every month.  How can i get them to stop calling completely or should i be concerned about these calls?

They called me on my cell phone for my son and left a message. Her name was Robinson and needed the location of my son.  I have an unlisted phone number and I'm on the 'Do not call list' and I still get theses types of calls. They called the house and wanted to know the where-a-bouts of my son. I gave no info and kept saying I don't know, who are you. Finally they said they were from a Credit Union. Needed to talk to him NOW. How can we stop this?
