Basically what AMPEX MEDICAL SUPPLIES aka RIVERA MEDICAL COMPANY does is they call you to phish for information. They ship and invoice you for medical golves you never authorized or ordered. This happened to a friend of mine and now she is having a hard time shorting this out. Rivera Medical Company claims that the golves were authorized and that the outrageous invoice is valid. I'm not even sure where Rivera Medical Companys' corporate office is out of, but I found their address in California on Business Consumer Alliance. Their phone number (888) 857-3945 is no longer in service. My friend and I cannot get through to them. We will be contacting BCA to file a complaint.
Criminals, Michael Emoreth Arnold and Michael Alan Dirksen don't even have a license to operate in California or anywhere else. They use several business names to scam private doctors, clinics, hospitals ECT and constantly move and change phone numbers in order to keep from getting caught! You can find a copy of this complaint at www.ripoffreport.com which was recently filed on 1/7/2014. They have been reported to the authorities and will face charges real soon!

Moorpark firm's sales tactics spark Better Business Bureau caution

The Tri-County Better Business Bureau is cautioning businesses that use latex gloves to be wary of phone calls from the Rivera Medical Co. in Moorpark.
?Make your employees aware to be cautious if you get calls from anyone asking about replenishing their supplies, because what they?re trying to do is trick them into ordering merchandise,? BBB President Rick Copelan said.
No one from Rivera?s staff, including listed owner Mike Arnold, could be located for comment.
The BBB has given the company an F rating after receiving more than a dozen complaints from businesses around the nation alleging Rivera billed them for products not ordered. In many cases, the businesses received unsolicited phone calls from someone offering free trial gloves that were then shipped with $451.50 invoices, according to the BBB.
A Florida podiatrist complained to the BBB that someone from Rivera contacted his staff and misrepresented that it was the doctor?s established vendor. ?They tricked our staff into OK?ing the goods, which they claimed were ready to be shipped,? the complaint read. ?When we received the goods, we realized this was not our regular vendor and we did not require these goods. We called to clarify the shipment. Mr. William Baxter from Rivera (Medical) Company was very rude, unprofessional and hung up on us.?
Complaints to the BBB indicate Baxter was the ?warehouse supervisor? at Rivera, but there is no warehouse at the company?s address, 530 W. Los Angeles Ave., #115-210 in Moorpark. That address belongs to The UPS Store.
A spokesman at UPS said Rivera Medical is an active box holder there.
Rivera, however, has no website, and its phone number has been disconnected.
The city of Moorpark has not issued the company a business license.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Greg Brose deals in consumer protection issues. He said he didn?t have any information about the Rivera matter but noted that in general, ?when a business lists a mail-box drop as a business address, the business is frequently trying to hide its true location and may not be responsive to consumer complaints.?
Debra Henderson, procurement officer at a community clinic run by the Ninilchik Tribe in Alaska, said she gets three to four calls a year from businesses using similar tactics ? trying to get her clinic to buy supplies it has not ordered and does not want. ?These people know how to work the system,? she said.
After someone from Rivera got one of her employees on the phone, Henderson said, the clinic ended up with ?cheap? surgical gloves and a bill for $451.50.
Henderson complained to the BBB and hasn?t heard from Rivera since. Now her clinic has implemented a policy that requires all suppliers to speak directly with her.
Accounting departments should be on the lookout, recommends Cortney Cotter, an administrative staff member at a family practice in Sacramento that complained to the BBB about Rivera.
Cotter believes Rivera was hoping her accounting department would blindly pay $163 for a dozen boxes of gloves the practice would normally get at a fraction of the cost. Cotter and other staff members investigated and did not pay, but she was surprised to see in the complaints to the BBB that some medical offices did pay before realizing something wasn?t right.
?We?re really glad we looked into it,? she said.

COMPLAINT: Mike Arnold called our company offering "the opportunity" to test their medical gloves. He stated that this was a test of a pair or two and a price list. NOT a purchase of a cases of $229 gloves. He is extreamly pushing then ships 2 boxes of gloves that usually cost under $30 a box, but when you receive this "product test" there is a packing slip and bill for $229.00 per box plus freight and handling. We sent them right back to them and the box returned to us yet again with the "return to sender - no returns accepted" written in black marker. Mike Arnold then calls numerous times a day demanding payment. He is very rude and aggressive. I now have an invoice for $562.65 and gloves that they have refused to accept back. He offers to send UPS out to pick up a check yet will not take back the product that we do not want or ask for. This product test turned into a real high priced scam and now we can not get him to take back this product or get him to stop calling repeatly. He refuses to work with anyone and gets very loud and rude when spoken to.
Desired Settlement: We would like him to take back the product and stop harrassing us. This is not what was he said. He said it would be a small product test not a blown up sale.

Each time their number is called it goes to a recording. Have not heard back from them as stated in their recorded message. Will continue to contact them, especially after we receive their bill.

COMPLAINT: A member of our Purchasing department answered a call from Rivera Medical stating that they had an exam glove order for us that had been on backorder and did we want them to ship them. We received eight boxes of exam gloves and an invoice for $458.00 plus $33.50 freight for a total of $491.50. Initial contact about this was handled unprofessionaly by a representative of Rivera Medical about the fact that we placed the order and need to pay the invoice. Besides the fact that we do not order anything without a purchase order, and never do phone orders, it would appear from what is shown online that this is a scam that they do nationwide. The other thing is the ridiculous amount of money they charge for the product. We pay around $10.00 a box for the exam gloves we use, and they invoiced us 458.00 for eight boxes (57.25 each). Finally spoke to a represenative at Rivera Medical today and told him we would be shipping the product back and will not pay the invoice.
Desired Settlement: Just want to make people aware that this is going on.

Here's another tactic the scammers use to rip you off:
COMPLAINT: A member of our Purchasing department answered a call from Rivera Medical stating that they had an exam glove order for us that had been on backorder and did we want them to ship them. We received eight boxes of exam gloves and an invoice for $458.00 plus $33.50 freight for a total of $491.50. Initial contact about this was handled unprofessionaly by a representative of Rivera Medical about the fact that we placed the order and need to pay the invoice. Besides the fact that we do not order anything without a purchase order, and never do phone orders, it would appear from what is shown online that this is a scam that they do nationwide. The other thing is the ridiculous amount of money they charge for the product. We pay around $10.00 a box for the exam gloves we use, and they invoiced us 458.00 for eight boxes (57.25 each). Finally spoke to a represenative at Rivera Medical today and told him we would be shipping the product back and will not pay the invoice.
Desired Settlement: Just want to make people aware that this is going on.

2013 - COMPLAINT:
Complaint: Someone from Ampex Medical Supplies cold called one of my staff offering samples of vinyl gloves and a box of chocolates if we tried their gloves. They sent 2 cases, 10 boxes of gloves, but no chocolates. We tried the gloves and they were nothing special. Certainly not special enough to cost $ 477.98. Yes, they sent an invoice for $ 477.98 and we have had several harassing phone calls from them. They also faxed another invoice, but this one was supposed to go to an OB/GYN clinic in *****. I called the ***** clinic and they also are dealing with the same deceptive practice from this unethical company.
Desired Settlement: I would like for this outfit to stop wasting our time with their harassing calls.

She continued by saying that the cost of gloves that we order from them is increasing but they would send the cases at the current price to save us money before the cost increase. I explained that we were not getting our gloves from Rivera, she continued by saying that we do infact get our gloves from them and it shows that we usually order medium size gloves and how many cases would. I told her that I order from Medline. She hung up.

1. Get off their calling list - In the U.S. sign up for the National Do Not Call Registry @ www.donotcall.gov
Tell them to put you on their "DO NOT CALL LIST" They are legally required to take you off their calling list and can't contact you again for 10 years!
2. Gather Evidence (you can sue and press criminal charges if the telemarketer is running a scam. You can also sue if they call you again after you asked them not to.) Here are 10 questions they are to answer truthfully. If they lie it'll cost them $500 a question.
(1) Is this a telemarketing call?
(2) Will you tell me your full name?
(3) What is the name of the organization you are calling for?
(4) What is the company's phone number including area code?
(5) Do you keep a "do not call list?"
(6) I would like my number put on that list, can you do that now?
(7) Can you make sure your company cannot call me for any other reason?
(8) Will your company keep my number on its "do not call list for at least 10 years?
(9) Does your company have a written policy that says you can't call me?
(10) Can you send me a copy of that policy?
If they do not begin the call by telling you what they are trying to sell to you. If they don't tell you their contest doesn't require you to buy anything or if they send you a fax, then serious money is on it's way
3. Sue them! Once you gathered your notes go to your local small claims court and file a $500 claim for each violation.There's a strong chance they'll want to settle out of court and send you a check before you ever have to set foot in a courtroom.

They called my accounting dept. and yelled at my accounting clerk DEMAMDING payment. I called the a***ole back to find out what the heck he was demanding payment for. He said his name was Mike Adams but after reading this public forum, as well as the other ones listed in their other previous or current phone numbers to scam like, 877-490-4714 and 888-857-3945 and 877-591-3777 and 888-428-8567 etc. I knew right away these idiots were trying to scam us too. If it wasnt for public forums like these that exposes scammers like Rivera Medical Company, Ampex Medical Co, Advanced Medical Co, Allied Medical Co, Falcon International Ind., Superior Medical Co, Alpha Medical Co, Corbin Supply, and many other business names the same scammers have been using to rip off businesses like ours they would have succeeded in ripping us off too. Mike Alan Dirksen and Mike Emoreth Arnold we aren't paying you you a cent! So you can stop harassing us every day to pay you for a bogus invoice! We NEVER called you to order anything from you and we NEVER placed any orders with you before so you can stop trying to use that scamming tactic in saying you shipped the 100 cases we ordered last month or a year ago to replenish our stock then call and harass us, curse out everyone in accounting and insult us and say we are typical stupid women and threaten to come hurt us if we don't send you money. They don't ever give out their real business-physical address. They only use P. O. box numbers at UPS stores. They use over 15 different business names.They constantly move from location to location to keep from being found out & keep from being traced..they keep changing their business phone number. The scam they run goes like this: they hire really young high school drop out-single mothers who are in dire financial needs & subject them into doing their dirty work. MICHAEL EMORETH ARNOLD is the one who leads the scam, his side monkey is MICHAEL ALAN DIRKSEN. They both train the girls to call hospitals, doctor offices, jails, dental offices, medical clinics, nursing homes etc & bypass any authorized personnel who does the purchasing &avoid the Buyers. They're told to ask for receptionists, clerks, secretaries, nurses, basically anyone who sounds like easy prey. The girls are told to read a script put together by MICHAEL EMORETH ARNOLD & use words "free" & "complimentary" as bait. Once they get the persons name then lie about sending "free" &"complimentary" medical gloves, their next goal is to get a "ship to" address. Once they have this info. they go for the kill & ship cases of medical gloves monthly & invoice follow a day or 2 later with a whopping $522.00 or more for the box of cheap a** gloves. Once the accounting dept receives invoice & does all the research only to find out we were scammed & ripped off, he/she will spend days & weeks trying to contact someone from rivera "medical" in order to ship back the gloves only to find calls will go unanswered. Later, you'll receive harassing calls from MICHAEL EMORETH ARNOLD and MICHAEL ALAN DIRKSEN them pretending to be Doug Bishop, William Baxter, Mike Allen, Mike Brown, Steve Rivers, Kevin Garrett, Mike Adams, Jack Taylor and other fake names. They will cuss you out, threaten you, try & intimidate you & LIE, LIE, LIE to the extreme.. will tell you anything to rip your company off for overpriced medical gloves you never ever ordered to begin with. This is what happened to us & many other facilities. We sent an email to all medical facilities made aware of the scams these two idiots. We got an invoice from Ampex Medical Supplies for $495.34 for 2 boxes of gloves. I recalled someone calling the facility and I happened to answer the phone. All he asked was to confirm the address for delivery and I of course thinking that this was a legit order I confirmed. First we did not put the order, second it was 2 boxes of gloves and now the bill for almost $500.00. This is a joke. Of course, I am not paying.

AMPEX Medical Supplies Simi Valley, CA. Mike calls your workplace and ask an employee to confirm an order. The employee really has no idea and says sure. Then they ship you a box of gloves and an invoice for $500. Complete scam DO NOT PAY!!!!! You will get a voice mail everytime you call and they have no legitimate website or address. I suggest you keep the gloves in addition to not paying to put this guy out of "business". How does this guy sleep at night knowing his job is to rip innocent hardworking business off.
