I cancelled my account with Fido and they used this number to call and try to convince me to stay by offering me my plan for $5 a month less.  Nope, you're all good Fido.

yup, it's fido's number.  nope, it's not a scam.  they usually try to "suggest", somewhat forcefully, that you pay off your balance owing with a credit card, but it's just a collection call, and you can choose to pay online or at the bank, etc.  

they get all excited if you're a day late paying, and they'll call any and all numbers on file (cell and landlines), but this number is really fido. (can't vouch for the weird messages posted on here, though.)

I agree with it being a scam I just received the call and he was very unprofessional didn't address who he was and said we were just talking and I said no we weren't then I asked him what number he called and it was correct but he also had said he teied my old cell number. He proceeded to ask me my name I told him sorry I am not telling you as I don't believe you are from Fido I hung up plus if you were just talking to me wouldnt you know my name?. creepy that he had my work and old personal phone number and I have never been with fido.  No body fall for this scam.

Yeaaah, riiiiight...  All uppercase post, extremely hostile tone.  Veeeery professional post here.  And you say you represent Fido?  With a post like that, I seriously doubt it.

Your post looks a lot more like the typical threatening post from some criminal trying to 8pass of* as a Fido representativre in order to scam people out of their money.

Trust me folks:  NEVER call back such numbers from ANYONE.  If a call really is from Fido, then say you will call Fido, then do a goodle search on Fido to find the REAL Fido customer service number, and then call THAT.  Never give *any* personnal information (account number, adress, etc.) unless *you* originated the call from a number you *known* is the right one.  This will avoid you paying a thief, instead of paying what you really owe some company.

Getting atleast two calls per day from these guys. Anybody knows who they are.

Two weeks I received a call from this number & at the time I was not feel well. They gave me all the promises like other & said my account would not be charged until I gave the ok.  yes I gave them my card, but I knew there was a hold on the account. They call back a week later asking for another card, I told them no & replied what they said to me back two weeks ago(that no charges were no going to be taken out). they said it was to check the account. When they said that I knew it was a fraud & told them to cancel any future attempts. Today I found to not one but two charges to my account which over drafted my account" one for $3.00 & another for $55.00. Now I have call them Monday & go to my bank to ex plane how stupid I was.

I talked to a Cory at - -888-481-4779 - he was very helpful and cancled my membership.

While searching about a number for a market research program (scam!), I found this number listed as an alternate number that somebody else was told to call (same scam). The radio ad said participants would receive $1000 in gift cards for certain stores to purchase groceries. On the phone they promised $1000 in shopping money and $100 in WalMart gift cards. What I received was $1000 in coupons for products that I never use and don't need and links to pages where I can print out request forms for two $25 gift cards. I was charged about $26 for the whole thing... so far.

The related numbers I have found are 1.888.438.4313, 207.937.4801, and 1-888-481-4779.

We got scammed in May for this. I just realized it in Aug. They called saying  from FIDO and that authorized payment did not come through. they recorded info again. On visa bill statement showed up like regular FIDO statement so I did not realize it was from different account. There were no other additional expenses so the card did not look like it was stolen and used excessively by someone. In fact I do not see anything out of the ordinary.

I should have known better than respond on such phone  call with personal info...

It showed up on our AMEX too.... for some reason they printed "888-481-3426" instead of "Fido" like they normally do for the vendor name.

On my Amex statement
I was charged $ 15.29 on December 11 2009.
I was charged $ 26.74 on January 10 2010.
Both Times it appeared as 888-481-3436 ON
I do not know who this number belongs to!
I'm going to notify Amex this is a fraud.

Got that number on my credit card bill. Had no idea who the biller was till I read this. Why the blazes couldn't they just write Fido!!
