stop calling scammers

Calling me at work...already added to my credit report they can't squeeze blood out of a turnip,,going to have to get behind the govt to take whats left

I have received calls from these people for months! They drive me crazy! I have no idea who the person is they are looking for, it isn't me. Sometimes the number comes up UNKNOWN, sometimes with the 888 number and they leave an automated message telling me to call them. When I have answered, it is always for the person who used to have this number (over 15 months ago!) which I have explained a million times! I wish they would just stop calling already!

This number calls every few days.  I always miss the call and they never leave a message.  If this is collections they're probably looking for my ex-wife.  Haha good luck extracting any money there!

I just got a call from this number and they were asking for personal information for my 5 year old daughter.  When I asked what the call was in regards to they replied that they couldn't disclose any information without me verifying information.  That's a SCAM ALERT in my book.

I have received numerous call from this number and each and every time I let them know that I am not the person they are requesting..  I have even called them back and let them know that the call is being recorded, and they have the wrong person.  The calls are so annoying, is there no way to stop this harrassment.  Why should I have to be bothered when they do not have the correct information over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over......you get the point!!

I keep getting calls from these people (2 per day). It all comes down to the previous owner of my house. Seems that this person owes money to someone and these debt collectors got this address connected to my phone number. I've talked to this place 3 times but it only keeps the calls away for about 6 months and then they start bugging me again. I contacted my attorney generals office and the calls have stopped (for now).

They called me looking for Janet ****** about 30 times. That was the person who I bought my house from 15 years ago. Obviously they didn't believe me and were very nasty on the phone.  I was nice to them and gathered some info. From there, I have contacted my attorney generals office and handed over the info last week and have not got a call since.

caller claim to represent BCBS and proceed to confirm SS number and address. Obviously in an attempt to gain access to personal information.

Called my parent's house looking for my ex-wife.  Hah!  Good luck getting any money out of her.  I'm not going to give them her number, but even if I did it would be a lost cause.

The Guy that called me is a sexual predator  he needs to be locked up be for he carries out some of this stuff.People dont need this He has big time problems a real sick freak show.

I answered a call from this # back in Sept, and said they were calling about a utility bill from 2008.  I told them I had never used the utility company in question.  Two days later, they called again, and then twice per day for about a week.  Frustrated, I finally answered one of their calls, and requested their mailing address.  I sent them a certified request for verification of the debt.  Thirty-five days later, after hearing nothing from them, I sent a follow-up letter, advising them that since we had received no reply within the legally prescribed 30 day period for a response, the debt was assumed to be invalid, and that all collection activity was to cease.  I also told them that any negative information that might have been provided by them to any/all credit reporting agencies was to be removed immediately to avoid the necessity of filing suit.  Checked my reports two weeks later, and no negative info was contained.  I have heard nothing from them since my original letter in September.

just love when i get a 1-800 call and get put on hold...... how can i get them to stop

Got a call from these people trying to verify my address but would not confirm the address they had.  Within an hour the credit card fraud company called saying someone tried to use my credit card for a purchase. sounds shady just don't give out any personal information over the phone or E-mail.

THIS NUMBER IS FOR A DEBT COLLECTOR
This number is calling repeatedly, and I was given a name of a person they wished to contact, so I called them back to tell them they had the wrong number (like they're going to stop anyway?). The guy wanted my number, so, I told him he has it and I gave it to him again anyhow.  He gave me the name of some guy again, and I said, no, wrong number. He wanted my number AGAIN (he must have a problem with his short term memory) and I said I just gave it to him. I had another call and that one was VERY IMPORTANT and I told him I had to take the other call. He kept asking for my account number, (I told him I didn't have one because I'm not the person he's looking for, I took the other call and lost it, and when I tried to hang up the guy was still there. Perhaps if we ALL tried to BUY AMERICAN these people would have better jobs and not have to resort to tormenting the wrong people. GOOD LUCK.

I received this call, and then called it back, only to find it was no longer available?

I just called back after they left a message "this is an attempt to collect a debt"
They asked for my social security number to look up my record.
I said "no - is there any other way to look it up."
She asked what number they had called and when I started to give them the phone number she hung up.
Something fishy going on here.

They called while we were out and left a recorded message (no idea as to WHOM they were calling) advising 'this is an attempt to collect a debt.'

WHAT DEBT?  I think they're just trying numbers to see who's going to respond.  NOBODY but immediate family has that private number, and the only debt I've got is the mortgage.

I think I'm going to see if I can fry these b****eads.

I'm just a kid and they called my cell saying I needed to pay a fine and I don't pay bills!

CVCS was identified when I called them back.  The cell number they were calling was a new business line we acquired and have not issued it to anyone yet.  Unfortunately with the recycling of cell numbers, we get this occasionally.  I just wish they would not recycle them so soon after being released by the old user.  If there was a timeframe when the number was out of service, the collection agencies would remove the number and move on to the next source.

I've been called repeatedly by this number in the past.  They called at least 4 months ago and I told them that I didn't even KNOW the person they were looking for.  They called again today.  Why are they still calling my number?  Apparently they've been doing this for at least 3 years.  How have they not been shut down?

i got a call from cvcs today at 9:23am cdt and thay was looking for me and i but i told them that i was not at that number and thay marked my number as bad ant it after 8 am our 9 am thay are not allowed to contact you?

I think they are calling about a neice.  I will tell them to stop calling or I'll call the attorney general.

Yup this is a collection agency.  Just paid my electric bill with them. The guy said a computer calls restricted because people who screen their calls don't answer if they see a collection agency calling. Pretty simple if you don't like paying your bills don't answer.
