ARM Screwed me over with $2000. do you think i can file a complaint? I have my bank statements and all their numbers are out of service.

I got scammed by these people for almost $3000. Now the collections i thought I was paying is now demaning their money. Can someone please help me? Who should I contact to assist me with this>

You are a complete moron.  If you read the posts, the people on here are not trying to avoid their debt. They are being harrassed by a scammer who is, in most cases, making up ficticious debt.  I have been getting phone calls from this company regarding my ex-husband whom I have been divorced from for 12 years and have no contact with.  Does he actually owe money?  Who knows and I certainly don't give a s***. I just want them to stop calling me when I have nothing to do with him.  The guy who answers the phone is rude and made a comment about "suing his a**".  He says he has deleted my contact info but somehow I continue to receive calls.  This company is not legit and people should post about it so that others know not to fall for their scam.

same here. they called twice with court papers being served then said irs form 4681 sent to me.  i told him he could 4681 my b@lls in his mouth.  illegal tactics just ignore these idiots

I too just got a phone call from these people and they gave me half an hour to respond over a 250. Debt that they say if I go to court it will be 6000. dollars I explained that I don't work and he said fine well just have the judge go after your husband, put a lien on the bank car house your husbands paycheck. I told him I wanted to settle so he said great give me a lump sum of 1400. or pay 430. for six months I told him I couldn't do either and he said well you'll get the summons and if you need a cheap lawyer I can get you one. I told him no. My husband and I already contacted an attorney. I'll let you all know what they say. Thanks for listening.

I normally ignore comments such as yours, but in your case I'm going to respond.

You're forgetting that the company is contacting people other than the debtor themselves and leaving threatening messages and conducting illegal collection practices.

They're also contacting the wrong people entirely. My 70 year old mother has received mulitple phone calls from these people looking for someone we don't even know...never even heard of them before. She was so worried that something bad was going to happen and didn't understand why.

This company is not simply trying to collect a debt, they are going beyond the confines of the law. I urge everyone to file complaints. I assure you, that I will be doing so.

FYI - here is one recorded message from these collectors we will be saving for future use.

"Hello, my name is Michael Jones and I am calling on behalf of Process Service Verification with the County. I am calling in reference to a complaint forwarded here to my office regarding pending actions filed on a complaint. Please contact the legal department at 888-490-4925."

They're claiming to be a representative of the county when in fact they're not!

This number keeps calling me talking about criminal charges

The guy that left a message says hes Mike Jones but has a foreign accent and didnt sound sure of himself or reading off a script that the person has a pending action and to call the legal department at 888-490-4925. Last i heard threats like this was illegal.

This is a classic scammer, attempting to collect on out-of-date (statute of limitations) debt. Vultures.  Pitiful of vagrants.  DON'T FALL FOR IT. THERE IS PLENTY OF INFORMATION OUT THERE, FREE, REGARDING THESE CROOKS.  DON'T ALLOW THEM TO ENGAGE YOU. BETTER YET, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE NUMBER.  REMEMBER AS A CHILD, YOUR MOTHER TOLD YOU TO NEVER OPEN THE DOOR TO A STRANGER. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT.

Received a call from a private number stating that someone was coming to serve a summons to court for me.  They told me to call that number.  I did and the person named michael answered the phone and transferred me to a legal department attorney named daniel and he started telling me that I had a credit card from  few years ago and I owe over 2K on it.  I never had a credit card from the company that he mentioned and then he goes on to say that i will be sued for 5K.  and it would be better to settle than to have that over my head with garnishment to my wages.

Same MO on me just a few minutes ago.

I got a call from a process server who told me to call this number and when I did I spoke to 3 different Head of the legal dept and they were trying to sue me and fiancée over a $700 credit card charge off from 4 yrs ago and they said I owed $4000. They are not listed on my credit report nor is the charge off. I pissed off some much that they all hung up on me. If anyone knows where they are located I would like to know so I can file complaints with the proper authorities

This company has not called me, but has called my parents house, my sister's house and my grandparents house looking for me.  They have called all 3 in the last 2 days a total of 2x's a piece. The number my parents gave me last night (888) 490-1076 is A R N Legal; which if you Google them you will find nothing except complaints. The number today is (888) 490-4925, is the same company and this A R N is telling my family members that they are sending a summuns; which if this was true, the city court would be knocking on my door to serve me with legal papers. They also stated that the cops would be coming to get me. These are scam artists, looking to make a quick buck on some old debt; which more than likely is beyond the Statue of Limitations.  I contacted the Federal Trade Commision's and gave them all the info. I told my parents, that I don't care what # they call me from, I will contact the FTC and give them all new info on my reference #.  If everyone contacted the FTC, this company would be shut down for illegal practices...

My wife got a call from another number telling her that she needed to contact an old friend of her's and get her to call the number above.  The man on the other end said that the cops were on the way over to our house and even knew our address when my wife asked about it!  Does anyone know anything about this number?

Pay your bills people, this is a company just trying to collect on what you owe

My sister rec'd this call telling her that I gave out her cell phone number.  When I called they had all the info. on me telling me thgat I was going to get sued by a bank that I never heard of.  What I want to know is how do these people get all of our info. plus the last 4 digits of our ss.

The name is ARM solutions. They have a website and everything. They used two different numbers today and yelled at me and hung up when I threatened a lawyer.

They are trying to get charged off credit and using intimidation

My sister called me and told me someone had called about a court summons for me. I had one hour to call the number back and was to give them a case number. I called 1-888-490-1076  and asked the person on the phone which company I was calling. The person on the phone said Arpa and asked for my case number, Then transferred me to a legal department agent named Robert Dixon at ext. 226. I was told a letter had been sent to settle or be sued. I told the man I had never recieved any letter and he began to quote dollar amounts I could pay to avoid a court summons and wage garnishment of 30%.  I explained I live week to week and could not afford to upwards of 200.00 per month payments or a one time payment of 500.00 to clear this up right away. This on a card that only had a 400.00 limit to begin with. I told him I would have to call back after seeing if I could borrow money to pay them and avoid the 4100.00 he said I would owe if it went to court.


I called them back after searching the internet on debt collection and indicated that I would not make any payment until I had receieved a validation notice of the debt to which the referred. I also informed them that any payment would be made via cashiers check issued from the bank, not by credit card over the phone. I let them know I had spoke to someone and was aware of my rights and their responsibilty to prove the debt. I was told a validation notice would only be sent out if I made a payment over the phone at the same time.  When i told him that wouldnt happen, I was suddently disconnected. 3 attempts to call back all ended in being transferred to an un-initialized voice mail account.

Thankfully, I talked to a friend who told me it sounded like a scam, which led me to a search  and eventually to this site.The guys at this place are bullies. They are rude and think the best way to reach their goals is through scare tactics and intimidation.

I've gotten calls at my employer - telling them they had a "summons"for me - when I called to tell them never to call my work again - they said they didn't call because they "don't make outgoing calls"  They called my husband's cell to say I had a summons.  They are misrepresenting themselves and that is against the law

they are bill collectors. I just called and gave them a piece of my mind, the guy Hunter in the Legal Department, finally got mad at me and hung up the phone!!! The company is called Mid Atlantic something or other, they new things that I didn't even know!!!!! If they ever call again, tell them to go to a place where the sun don't shine and hang up on them. The person they are calling about is not in any legal trouble, they are just in debt like every other American today with this recession!!!

I figured as much...these people have been harassing my poor mother on a daily basis at 7a.m! She has told them numerous times that I don't live there anymore, and when I called the do***ebag (pardon my french) he was the biggest jerk I have ever spoken to! I ended up getting so riled up that I cursed him out and he hung up the phone. What ticks me off more is the amount that they are so dilligently trying to collect......is $213.49. It's unnecessary....very unecessary. They say that the name of the company is NFC, but it's Midwest Atlantic because that's the collections company listed on my credit report for that amount. Just tell them to shove it!

They called my job the other day and left a message with a co-worker saying that they wanted to issue a summons to me and needed me to call them back.
I'm glad I came to this site and realized they are just debt collectors.

My 14 year old stepson answered the phone at home today and they told him that his parents needed to call back within an hour because they had a court-ordered summons and gave him a case number and a number to call back. The call ended up being for my ex-husband and when I called the number they answered 'corporate office' and when I asked for the name of the company he told me it was Atlanta Research something or other. I asked him what the call was about and what did the company do and he said that he was just a receptionist on the first floor and could he get my name and case number. I gave him the case number and my name and then he transferred me. I heard hold music for a second or two and then the line was disconnected. I guess since I wasn't the person they were looking for, they just hung up. Needless to say, they shouldn't leave that kind of message with kids because it scares them. Thanks to the information I read here, I feel much better knowing it was a debt collector. Thanks!

Got a call from these people telling me they were on their way to my house to serve some papers. Would not identify themselves or the organization they were with.

I just got a call from them a few minutes ago- he gave me my birthday and social and told me there was a summons against me, and that i needed to show up in court, will i be there or not? After argueing for a few minutes i just took down the number he gave me. He told me they had my address, and that they were sending someone to seve me and that i needed to call that number and verify that it was my actual address. Very rude and shirt and tried (and succeeded) very hard to scare me. I am home with my two kids and someone is on my cell saying that they have my adress and want to know if i am there now to come for me. He kept persisting that i call that number and told me i get 2 chances before my 'luck' was up. I told him if he was legit then an officer would be at my door to serve me, i wasnt dealing with him any more. Just hang up on these people, BILL COLLECTORS THAT USE INTIMIDATION AND LIES.
