I was informed I would be laid off so I called the head office to set up a payment where I would have the loan in its entirety paid back before I was out of employment. The informed the lady that the account I had set up was closed and I would pay back a certain amount each pay day until my loan was paid off. No mention of additional interest or a NSF fee from her. Now they tacked NSF fee (they knew the acct was closed and 22 dollar additional interest for a 2 week period). I'm well aware that financial institutions charge interest but if they were going to do that should they not have told me? Oh by the way the interest wasn't added until the 3rd and second last payment.

You're obviously a debt collector. Probably a bogus or fraudulent one. That being the case, nobody here expects you to be literate...or intelligent. When a person has sunk to the level of being dependent on sitting in a chair telling lies all day to make a buck, their intelligence & morals are no longer in question. Your occupation makes it clear that you're a person just one step away from a valid Social Security disability claim. Mental illness is such a sad occurrence in your line of work, isn't it?
Well, look at the bright side. If your lack of morals can keep you from going back behind bars, you'll be able to combine that SSI check with your Welfare check & maybe keep the valid collectors from calling you so often. You may even be able to keep working! I'm sure that your employers won't mind paying you that minimum wage "under the table". Hell, they probably already do. Those highly credible firms that show up here don't want to be burdened with all that paperwork, do they?

From the rest of the posts on this board I assumed it was grammer optional.  Rather then watching my spelling, which i'm doing from a phone clearly my fingers arn't hitting the keys i want them too. I'm simply stating the case for the other side, if you have a problem with collections you should be a collector first, then you'll see how great people really are. What a great argument, maybe you should worry more for the kids who can't spell than me. o_O

Spell check is your friend.  So is learning how to spell properly in the first place.  If you want anyone to consider taking you seriously, at least make a modicum of effort to sound literate.

to busy to make a call??? are they curing cancer?? if you have time to drink boos, watch tv, txt a friend or family, you have time to make a call. being busy is a horrible excuse, how would you fell if you borrowed money to a friend, lets say 600 he leaves town and gets a new #. you see him in 2 months and he tells you he was too busy........he also dosn't fell he should pay you the money back

there are times like a death or that i can see, but for the most part.a phone call takes 5 mins, to busy..... and if the collector won'rlt accept an amount at a collection agency if you only pay a small amount compared to what you owe, the interest can be more than your payment, so your just a paying the interest and not touching the princepal.
so whats the point of.acceptin that payment the debt wont be paid.

and to say why dosn't it hit he princaple first, why should you be rewarded for not honoring your promise. you broke the arrangment now the company is going to charge interestb  because you still have their money for a longer period than they agreed too, and to take over a year to take care of small loans that were granted by why you make is ridicoulous. its nothing like showing up on your due date. i'm only payin you a hundred because of my other bill and i didnt tell you i wanst paying all of it because i believ you charge too much. so i decided im going to keep the money for longer. and if i told you i wasnt paying it all you wouldnt have lent me the money. i wonder why

Like you said, life happens. Sometimes people get too busy to make the call. Sometimes they are in a position where they simply can not call (i.e. hospitalized) or make a payment. Sometimes the number gets cut off because they couldn't pay their phone bill, either.

Then there's the group of people who are not even the person the collector is looking for. And guess what. The collector refuses to believe them. What recourse what you suggest for them? Paying a bill that isn't theirs just to stop the calls ? I think not.

If you owe them money it's their job to collect. For those of you life happens thank those who lie. Why should they believe you're comming in. was it not the agreement to pay on the due date. what proof are you providing to back up your so called story. is it so hard to pick up a phone and keep in contact rather than being called daily.

and for those complaning i'll pay them back when i can, that was not the agreement.when you don't pay something or are only making small payments, interest still collects over that time. im sure the people that have to collect just love waking up every morning trying to hunt you down, and then after months of calling multiple times a day your just a joy to talk too. and aftet that they get another story as to why you can't pay, or you lie and you say you'll be in but then you don't go in you cut off your # and change it again.

and thanks to those people those who really would pay or  are having an actual hard time get the flack. so for all you that just wanted free money and will rip off all the banks, all the loan company's and credit card company's. then claim consumer proposal, bankruptcy or try and wait 7 years for your debt to vanish, you come back in again like it was nothing.

all those who have legit stories and would have came in and paid thank you

My cousin borrowed money from the cash store.  She gave them her banking info.  I was listed as an authorized person on her account for emergency reasons.  She didn't pay them back.  They tried to take the funds from her account, when the money wasn't there they some how got the funds from my personal account that didn't even have her name on it.  I had to phone the bank and dispute it.  I had to do the leg work to prove I didn't borrow any money from them.  The only reason they had my name is because my cousin apparently used me as a reference.  They took a lucky guess and got MY money.  It took me 6 weeks to get it back.  I still had to close the account in my name as well as the account that my cousin had.

You are the dumbest sap I've ever had the misfortune coming across.  When banks give you money, they not only expect back the money they gave you, but also a fee for their service, the service of giving you some money.  This fee is called interest.

READ AND LEARN!!!

1)  In almost every business on the planet, two very important rules, actually laws--if you can read, pick up a law book on commerce if you ever get a minute when you're not paying off a debts--laws that are in place and respected so that i) businesses compete and offer the best service they can for the fee they charge-- THE MONEY THEY TAKE FROM YOU--and when they do collect a fee for doing a service, they usually don't try and change it just because they feel like it--if you buy a TV on sale for $100 and a month later the store runs out of TVs to sell, they don't come knocking on your door telling you the price for your month-old TV has gone up to $125 and demand $25 from you, do they? You'd probably pay them and think you're doing the right thing wouldn't you, dumb a**--and ii) the consumer runs the show by being allowed to pick which service they like the best and which they think sucks.  By being allowed to do this, consumers have a direct influence over the quality of the service they pay for AND the cost of that service, keeping businesses productive and constantly improving...in other words, what keep an economy growing...in other words, what helps make a nation strong.

2) Unlike any other business on the planet, banks typically DO NOT follow these two rules.  i) As you give your credit card companies (or banks) money they say is their's and that you owe them, mouth after month, bill after bill, most of the cash you're giving away goes to paying the bank's "fee" for their service, like the TV guy collecting $25 every mouth until you just give him the TV back.  The fee has no set amount for the service they provided you only once, instead they leave it open so that they can continuously collect more and more "fees" from you.  Then they try saying that "well the service wasn't us loaning you the money, the service is us waiting for you to pay us back".  And consumers have no say in it at all.  On top of that, they can increase the fee, again, without any input from the consumer, whenever they feel like it.  So one mouth the TV guy collects $25, the next $30, then $45.  The banks justify this by making up unnecessary and sometimes difficult rules, some of which serve no real purpose and are even hard to understand let alone follow.  And then, when you brake one or more of these pointless rules, the $45 jumps to $60.

When consumers can not choose and have no influence over the services presented to they, services they are expected to GIVE AWAY THEIR MONEY FOR, it's usually called a MONOPOLY.  And it doesn't matter how many banks there are or how different their services appear to be, BANKS HAVE A MONOPOLY OVER OUR MONEY, and uneducated balloons like you help them keep it going.

The USA is fu*Ked at the moment because of the power of the banks over the people, not because the people need to "grow up".  And it continues...  almost makes me feel like getting as many credit cards as I can, take out all the loans they're willing to give me, go out shopping, drinking, school, anything that I could get with money, make that debt as f*^king high as I can and when I get the first first bill, pay it using a blank cheque with "F*@K YOU!!"  written in big a** letters across the front, quit my job, declare bankruptcy and move to Canada.

Debt Collector
I always pay my loans on time. and twice now Cash Money have tried to take out the balance of the loan i paid a few days before, twice i have incurred NSF charges from my bank. The first time i received a call from Cash Money collections, so i explained the issue and was told to go to the branch. i called the branch and spoke to the manager informing them of the issue. At the branch i presented them my bank statement showing the NSF and receipts of payment of the loan, they refunded me the NSF and gave me a few discounted loans since i knew i needed their services for a little longer. Second time i incurred an NSF charge was because when i took out a recent loan i asked for the repayment day to be 26 days after the date of the loan, and the teller put the repayment date for 3 days after the loan not 26 like she agreed to, so i got another call, and now i have to go back and get my money back++. it will be the last time i ever deal with them. I am thinking of getting legal advice as to how these NSF fees have affected my credit and if i can sue Cash money.
