I got a call from the number 508-0149. I thought it was strange that my caller Id didn't show a area code or an 888. left a message saying that they are from the IRS. I was wanted for fraud and tax evasion. So I checked online with the phone number. and found that others had the same problem.

I recieved the same call. Except it was a message left on my home phone. They threatened me w/ Tax Evasion, Tax Audit, and the county sheriff was aware of this. I knew it was a scam. The message was made by a computer. I called it back. The differance between that call and the real McCoy is that the I.R.S never calls to harass they always send letters. The man had a heavy Indian accent. I called my tax company, told them the story. I gave them this number and what happened. Everything will be ok. I will tell you the people with the Indian accents who are doing the scams are giving the honest ones a bad reputation! Lousy S.O.B's! Hope they rot in Hell!!!!!!!!!!hoop

This person called for my son. Saying that they had a legal petition for tax fraud and tax evasion.  They had heavy Indian accents.  Claiming they were from the IRS.

Got a call from scammer 888-508-0149 said they are an irs officer from  Washington DC? want to talk about my account and that I fraud the irs he gave me his name and want me to write it down which is Andrew Hamilton. I think he want me to think that he is  so important but I know  I was not fooled by him.  And once I told him to go ahead and send me the documents to my address and I will let my lawyer take care of it he was very upset and hang up on me lol. Be careful of the scammer everybody

They called my house and after I threatened to report them to the actual IRS they said that they were going to murder my family and said recited my home address several times.

This number (888 508 0149) and another number (202 241 6850) called my home several times and they say they are IRS officers (one named himself John Scott and the other Sara Lopez - both with heavy Indian accent).
They are thieves, and they say: you had an IRS problem and we will send somebody to arrest you. These people may victimize some naive persons who may take them seriously and rip them off (how? I do not know). But for the sake of people, or if IRS or federal government do not care for people, at least to preserve their own dignity (IRS and federal government), IRS, FBI even CIA should go after these thieves and publicly punish them by law; so that others will not dare to scam, threaten people, make annoying calls, etc. in the name of a federal agency.

Again: numbers that have called so far (and I know that they use more numbers) are: 888-508 0149 (name: Sarah Lopez), and the other (202 241 6850 (name John Scott with a  heavy Indian accent).

They are damaging the status of IRS and federal government, by showing that they can do these scams and the government does not or cannot do anything to protect the citizens, the same tax payers that these thieves want to victimize.

This call wasted almost 2-3 hours of my time and good chunk of my energy.  The bogus call seemed to represent IRS and demand payment of tax evaded funds which I knew could not be right.
