HOW DO I GET OUT OF THIS MESS!! am 18 and made the stupid choice because it sounded convincing but i don't want their damn magazines i got college to pay for.

They are a scam.  They were threatening my 19 year old son who had never spoken with them.  I had to threaten they would be talking to our lawyer if they continued to keep calling.  And no they will not let you cancel if you have actually ordered.  Yes they are definitely a scam and they send magazines people would never order.  Totally crazy!!!

will it mess up my credit because I stopped paying

I just put my number on the Do Not Call list too and hopefully these calls stop because I was dumb enough to agree and when I realized it was a scam the lady said that I could not cancel the subscription which automatically makes it a scam because at any time you should be able to cancel a magazine subscription.

ughhh i fell for i too.. but i right away was planning on cancelling as soon as the welcome letter came.. well when i got the letter i called right away ( on a friday) the csr told me that their system was down and no changes could eb made at this time and to call back on monday. so.. i called on monday and another rep told me that since it had been more than 3 days that i could no longer cancel and the deal was final. i argued and got real angry with them, eventuallyi hung up and right away called to change my creditcard.. son after i got calls from them trying to get my payment, i still get annoying calls from them that i dont even answer anymore.

I get this 888 508 2459 number AT LEAST 5-6 times a day and everytime they don't leave a message and i get really annoyed because they always call while I'm busy either with work or something else. I wish they would leave me alone.

By law they are not allowed to call you at work, tell them if they call you at work again "This is my work number or this is the time I work do not call me again during this time or I will prosecute!"

I received a call from these creeps, had just gotten a new bank card carrier. They had my card # birthdate, address, marital status and even knew I had children. I never told them anything, told them I was not interested and hung up. Called my bank, and sure enough they charged mystolen card number without permission and my bank cancelled my card and is going after them for stealing card numbers from multiple customers from my bank. I only listened to their crap cause they said they were from my new card carrier Mastercard and were not. BEWARE. Now I receive over 10 phone calls a day 7 days a week.

Finally got rid of this magazine scam.  I had already cancelled my card within in hours of realizing I got roped in.

Finally being fed up.  I took your advise about being aggressive with them.  When the gal called I quickly interrupted her and told her I knew who they were and that they were not a real business, that they were a scam, and that I had no problem turning them in.  I told them to stop calling me and hung up.  Two hours later I got a message from someone claiming to be a supervisor.  She immediately said that my subscription was cancelled.  Whew!  So glad this is over.  Thanks for your suggestion.

Yes now I know why these peaple calls and try to sale me magazine, thank god i Google the number that call and I trace it to hear. Now that I have read and know that its just a scam I must have to dispute these peaple. I have try to canceling it but these peaple Won't re-act with you right, so it make me careaus about this! We all must fight this through and find a solution to crack down these scamer. And why can't we!!?  I just hate rich peaple who try to feed of the pour each n everyday like this one!!..

DON'T CALL ME!!!

I keep getting these calls.  They are asking for my daughter, yet they are calling my cell phone.  They never leave a message and when I told them they have the wrong number as this is not her cell phone, they ask me to give her a message to call them.  She has no idea who they are either.  She doesn't even live in the same state as I do and she said why would she give my phone number to anyone as her contact number.  She said she never ordered any magazine, yet the other day received a Rolling Stone at her cousin's home.  She hasn't even set up residency at that address.   They will not stop calling, so I have stopped answering.

Please tell this magazine company to quit calling me.They are a scam,I have not recieved no magazines from them an had to change my credit card to keep them from taking money off my card.

I'm in the same boat as you, with needing the money for college, but  i'm wondering if it will reflect on my credit if I don't pay.

These people are sick in the head!!! Just cancel your card get a new one and enjoy the magazines and tell this company to JUST F U C K OFF!!! We will get the last laugh on these scammers!

Watch out because they will persuade you!! They got me with some sort of sweepstakes, said it would cost me nothing, then start charging me twice a month! I'm not sure how they even got my debit card number but they did! ( I've never given my number to anyone or any company ) they call everyday still. Trying to get ahold of me even when I have asked them to stop!

I get calls from this number as well, sometimes more than once a day.  I will answer, and they hang up, or if I don't answer-they don't leave a message.  So I stopped picking up when they call and just let it hit voicemail... Phone scams?

sorry to hear about other people falling to the same scam that I fell for. I canceled my credit card, which also was charged the $62 already, seconds after I hung up the phone. I never bothered calling them so I was able to receive all the magazines that I was offered. I'm not sure whether or not I will receive a year subscription, but I received 2 months of some magazines already.

My name is on DO NOT CALL LIST, they call everyday. Stop it.

These are indeed scammers - fyi they say that you are 'committed' but you are under no legal compulsion to pay, they say it'll ruin your credit is merely an attempt at intimidating an uninformed person

These people keep calling me almost EVERY DAY from this number and from an UNAVAILABLE number! They started sucking out $40 at a time seconds after I hung up the phone. I had to cancel my card, and open a new bank account. When they called and I told them i wanted to cancel, they said "ok, we can do that, but first we need your bank account number and social security" THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT ANSWER!!!! Even if you don't give them your info, they will still get it! Do not be fooled by their nice talk!!!

I am in the same situation... $1000 over 5 year period. 60 months. I thought it was two years and the woman said I could cancel anytime.. LIAR! That part isn't recorded.
What I wanna know is what do I do to get them off my back and stop giving them  money! Everyone on here says cancel card, but then the collections office will call you and report your a**! I stopped answering calls and quit sending money and that only made it worse, had to pay a big price to collections! What do I do now?????

I received up to 3 months of a certain magazine now although they only took the 62$ from me before I could get the chance to cancel my card. I just had a bad feeling the entire time they told me I was being recorded and should have not went along with it then but I did and now I have more than a handful of magazines on my hands. I just hope they don't turn me in to a collection agency and ruin my credit.
