FTC sued the Corona Scam on October 11, 2011, alleging they were running a collection "shakedown" racket.  Documents filed with the complaint alleged threats and deception were used to get money from people who did not owe it.

This is all part of the Corona Scam.
They are being investigated by the FTC.

Quite simply, they pull your credit report.

They can find your old accounts, and pretend you "owe" them a "debt" that sounds like one of them.

Pull your credit reports, particularly Experian, and look for a recent credit inquiry.

If you are being contacted by them, contact FTC.  They are being investigated.

Such a judgemental statement aimed at so many traumatised people makes me wonder if you are not one of the money hungry scammers yourself...

Sorry for you, but threatening a 80 year old woman, through a grandchilds residential number, with jail time and calling her grandchild a liar when she swore the grandmother had NEVER lived at the address, can in no way be legit!  If my mother had actually received this call she would have done anything in her power to stop any legal action, including paying something she never owed, regardless of who claimed she owed it.  If someone does owe a debt there are appropriate methods of collecting.  That does not include harrassing the elderly, less fortunate, or the easily frightened.  No one here was trying to skip out of a legitamate debt, but someone has definately skipped out on humanity to make a buck!!

I got a call a month ago regarding an old debt back in 2003...just wonderin why they didnt call before  while the accnt was open...but why calling me now after 8 yrs?? Lma0! They pulled the same crap on me too.they called my inlaws house and telling that i have to pay an old debt or i will be serve...Really!!! Lol its been like a month aftr the phonecall and i never receive any summons.i called out city docket search there was no case number ever existed..hahhaa! Watch out this people.call the federal trade commision and file a complaint againts this pony services...if the debt is so old...they cant collect anything from you or harrassing you...Know your statue of time limitation.just give them your old underwear if they do ever show up..lol.also...if you attemp to pay or monthly payment agreement,you just  start  your statue  of limitation back to zero and which is not good. It doesnt matter if u pay it...they already done screwed up your credit.it may show its close but the late and delinquent  payment is still  there in ur credit report.this company name city services is a PHONY! You guys are retarded. This isn't a scam. It's debt you guys have collected within the years and have forgotten. It seems that they have all your information, such as, your credit report, SS, Current Living and etc. How could they be a scam when they are a Debt Collection Agency hired and given these information's. You guys are tripping out way to dramatically and the DA will not do anything against the Company. As they say, spend within your means, not above it. If you can't and owe, then pay it up. Not hard. Stop fighting it and pay your damn bills and if you disagree, then stop spending if you have nothing to spend. Which equals to debt which thus makes this company call your house, work and etc. I've just paid 300 for a phone bill on a credit card and I do remember doing this 6yrs ago when i had a rough time (No job). After that, they will stop calling, since I haven't received any calls from them lately.

I just received yet another harassing call, I am calling the Attorney General after this post is written; a stern sounding witch aked for HR in order to serve me with a summors, I told her we get summons all the time, no need to speak to HR, bring it, she said she tried to serve me at my home and now she's calling the Sheriif to serve me at work and I better call 888 516 1963 right away to avoid the summons.  I have no idea who these people are and I don't owe anyone anything.  These threats and harassment at a persons job are no different than terroists threats and it needs to be addressed and stopped, this is my living and I am thankful to be employed, these people are also calling my elderly family members and leaving very disturbing messages wioth them.  I don;t understand how a fellow humnan being could act in such a disgraceful

Had a talk yesterday with the State Attorney General.  The clerk told me that they have been receiving lots of complaints about these type of calls over the last month.  It is a scam.  Yes I now have a new debit card and checking account.  Now, if i can remember how to block the number 951-732-9967 from my phone.  Peace out.

Got a phone call on Monday, June 13, 2011 at my mom's house-of all places, from a Ms. Daniell Harris. Some of the same things were said to me.  I made a huge mistake, because I approved a payment though my debit card.  City Services says I owe for a former payday loan.  Since I did use a lot of these a few years back, I assumed it to be true.  Since it has been less than 24 hours-I may be able to put a stop to this before it is too late,I am also going to call the State Attorney General.

Harrassing phone calls constantly all hours of the day and night - states it is a legal matter - states I am being sued.

They called stating I was to be in court and gave a fake number to an elderly woman and cause her to go into stress

He is harrassing me about the debt of my son in law.  Find out it's for the year 2000 and debt plus interest needs to be paid if not my son in law will go to jail.  I find out from my son in law that account has been closed and is not showing on his credit report.  He didn't receive any legal paper about this.  We are going to sue City Services because that debt was passed the statute of limitation which is in Al if I am not mistaken is 3 years.

This guy called me and had me call him back on a 888 area code number, he called me back from a 213-271-9624, said his name was Tim Walsh, then for him to tell me that I was going to be going to court unless I would pay him 25% of what I owed right now, in which case the amount wasnt right either. As I told him that I cant be taken to court due to a credit card debt I heard his buddy in the back ground laughing.. Seems a little weird to me. Anyway he informed me that If I do not pay he will see me in court and Ill have to pay more, so we will see I guess. This guy also knew the last 4 of my SS, and 2 of my previous addresses, Very Scary..I will post again here after awhile to let all know if I actully got served or not...

Received a second call from this number looking for a relative. This time they left a phone number and docket number.  The first time they called they wanted me to pass on info to this relative which doesn't even live near me.  My thing is with all the social networks out there why in the world do they need me to pass on information.  I'm sure if someone is looking for someone with a legitimate legal issue they wouldn't have to resort to calling distant relatives just because they have the same last name.  The person who called was very rude and actually threatening in tone.  I'm not giving out any information on anyone unless a uniformed police officer comes to my door.

Got a message from a process server with this phone number asking for a call back, would not say with who or why?

A guy named Robert Rubin called me at work again today. He left a message with our receptionist leaving me this number and a case number. He told my receptionist that a process server would be serving me at work. They have called my work several times saying that they are coming there to serve a warrant. I call these people back they say they are calling from Household Bank from a debt they say I incurred in 2007, but they cant tell me what was charged or any other information. They want to stop me from being served if I will pay the balance in full and give them my bank account information.

Don't worry its just a scam company... Next time they call ask them what color underwear they are wearing :)

Claimed to be representing process servers who were trying to locate my child. Gave docket number and phone number to call back. Person who answered my return call identified business as "City Services" located in Corona CA.

I have been getting calls from this number, they have called my work and relatives harassing and scaring them with lies about taking me to court and just a bunch of lies. I am fed up with this. I always knew it was a debt collector so I have never called back. What is making me very mad is they are calling other people.
