Somehow they got my debit card number in their system Nd charged my account for services I have not received. I had the bank stop all transactions on my card and they filed fraud against them and refunded my money since I did not know , authorize or receive services/merchandise from them.   Unfortunately I didn't catch this occurring in September but did for October .

Just so you know, the BBB is a scam as well.
Most people make the assumption that this "bureau" it is a government agency, but it is surely not. Its simply a shake down on businesses with something to hide... Nearly ANY number of complaints will be removed and the business will be given a good rating, as long as you pay them.
When I see a business boasting about being BBB approved, I take it as a sign they are trying to cover up or make up for something.

I called my courts and personal talk to a someone to double check my good name (Lol) .
I have inform her they are representing them selves from there court house as a Processing officers and there trying to find me and stated one of my addresses.
She insured me they don't do that. So I gave her their number to call them 888-535-2543,

When I originally started my company I did not have a business line. We started the business account at our bank with my partner's home number. The only people who should have that number is our bank. Suddenly he gets calls at home where his parents are now saying. Unfortunately, his poor mother answered the phone. She said the man (his name was Kenny) was very aggressive, so much so she was convinced he was a debt collector. She did get that he was with FTA. When I called back I left a message saying not to ever call that line again, where did they get it and gave them my number instead. They called back but did not leave a message when I could not get to a phone. I google number and found this.

This company probably does work with your bank, because that's the only way they could have this number. However, since I use a different processing company, in no way connected to my bank or this FTA I doubt this is anything more than an annoying sales call. I will be blocking them shortly.

Received repeated calls from 888-535-3515. Dude is named Gordon Neal. This is a credit clearing company which processes credit transactions. They obtained my name because six years ago I applied for a credit card in a business name, but the business was dissolved. Gordon adamantly denied that they were selling something but, if he could only ask a few questions, they could do a "risk review" for me. I explained that I have never processed any credit transactions and that they must have gotten my name from old credit card info. He then admitted that this was "sort of" a sales call. I demanded that no more calls be placed to me, and if they are, I will pursue through legal channels.

It really is a scam. I've received multiple calls from these folks claiming that they can save me money on my merchant account transactions. They request all kinds of financial information that they should already have. I've already filed a FTC complaint and may file another if the current FTA person keeps leaving messages.

Mr. Gold,

People who "cold call" my home and are vague and misleading about who they are and what they are selling will continue to be characterized in a negative way in these types of forums.  Legitimate companies do not call home phones looking for a business owner. But most of all, when told that we do not accept such calls and do not wished to be called again, they do not continue to persuade us. When I tell someone the call is over, they need to understand that the sell attempt is over. Oh and asking for the business information so that you can "perform the exclusion" sounds like phishing. Making a change system wide in how you conduct business would solve the issues you need to address.

They just called. It looks to me like they are trying to get your credit card processing business, using shady tactics. I am sure the fist part about "risk assessment" isnt for anything nefarious, that's just they're opening to get you thinking you have low, low risk for the service the wont admit they want to provide...it was kind of funny. I was asking them "what is in this for you?" if they arent "selling anything". He said nobody ever asked him that before--he doesnt know! HAH! Once it "appears" to jerk 1 that you are "low risk" he wants to set you up with "jerk 2" just to check your merchant statement to make sure there are "no chargebacks". That is when they likely just try and switch you to their processing. You have probably been asked to do this 10 times last year between phone calls and walk-ins. VERY competative business--these jagoffs just go over the line trying to trick you into thinking it is something new and better. No idea if their rates are actually good or not, but it sounds like the type of company that would forget to tell you about a $39 monthly statement fee! Just FYI folks it seems like a rate that is abot 35-45 basis points over what the publishes M/C Visa rates are is when all these "low, low" rate guys start not coming back. on 10K a month theyll make 40 or 50 bucks--less in slower months. About the best you can do unless someone else knows different.

When you take a look at this address on Google maps it comes up as Southmount Community College.  The address for both FTA and Southmount Community College is the same, even the suite number (suite 100) is the same.  Later I found a different document that says the colleges address is suite 101.  It sounds like this scam is either being run out of this college or they BS money needing students to work for them.

I've gotten a number of calls from this number.  The caller id's him or herself as from the FTA and says they are calling about my merchant account and that I should return their call ASAP.  I don't have a merchant account with them, so if it's not a scam, then they are using very devious and dishonorable marketing techniques.

I know this is a tough job market, but these callers need to find an honorable job.

Why is it people think that you want them to call you so that you can buy whatever it is they are selling.  If I want to buy ANYTHING I go out and find it, ask people to call me back.  Unsolicited sales are always unwelcome, get a clue Dallas, this is not a small yet vocal minority there are 9 pages of complaints here...++++ many more who are just as irritated.  This is the MAJORITY.  When you call a cell phone or any phone call you are using up our minutes.  This is on our bill and it should be illegal.

These people called my office claimimg to need to verify and assess my credit card merchant account. At the time they iitially called, I didnt even have such an account. When they called back months later, stating that they needed to do the same assessment, I told them I was not interested and not to call me anymore. The representative stated they would continue calling me until the matter had been resolved. I told her I would place them on my blocked calls list and report them. She seemed unconcerned so I am now going to block all further calls from 888-535-3535. Theyre a total scam...not sure what their scam is, but I dont want to be involved!

I got a message from a Gordon on the answering machine wanting information on my company's merchant services account.  He would not talk to me, but only wanted to talk to my boss.  I assured him that all financial calls went through me and the only way he was going to talk to my boss was to give me the information first.  I knew it was a sales call, although he assured me it was not.  I assured him we were not interested in changing processors.  The credit card processing business has such a bad reputation and companies like this are the reason why.  There is no such thing as moving up the food chain.  No one can charge you less then Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex charges the processor--no matter what they say!

Should have Googled them before I called back.

They called today.  She wants to talk to owner to "to go over a few things on our Merchant Services Account"  Well I handle the credit card services and I have never heard of the fta.  So I looked them up.  Junk.  She says. "it's a lot to explain"' so she "needs to speak directly with the owner"  I don't think so buddy.  She had no info to give me, she doesn't know anything about my account so she must want to sell me something or get info from me,  You know banks know how these frauds work so they only contact you by mail to tell you to call them.  I can not stand a telemarketer that won't give the assistant enough info to present to the owner.  He won't call you back if it's not legit.  That's why I answer the calls.:)

FTA stands for Funds Transfer Alliance. It's for a merchant account service for businesses. I've never had a merchant account for a business I had. They are just looking for information. They were looking for my husband and when she asked what my name was I told her wife. I told her the business was closed and she said she will be updating the account so I don't get anymore calls. Plus what is strange, she left an extension of 6602 with the name of Amber but when I dialed that extension I got a Stephanie. So whoever she decides to be this day, I hope she deletes my info. Stupid bytch.

Been getting calls from someone regarding my merchant account and was important to call back immediatly.  Finally I called back. About 5 Messages over the last 6 wks. Ashly was very nice, and wanted to setup a meeting with a rep after inquiring about my merchant acct volume. She suggested a date, I could not make. Said she would call back when there were in the area again. Sounds like pfishing to have me switch to merchant provider or my bank info. Beware!
Thanks for this message board! Al R
