I am getting at least 2 calls a day, today I BS to rep and asking him to give me his direct number, cause my battery dead, and he gave me 888-541-5860.
How i can report them? I am sick and tired of this calls

I received a call from  an unknown number today at 11:05AM.  The guy gave the name "Henry Reed'.  Definitely not his birth name.  Said he was with Meridian Law Center in Orange County, CA.  The stroy line tha the was saying sonded very good.  Lower your mortgage by 30 to 60 percent.  Started to give information to get the file going. He then asked for a routing number for my bank.  When I told him that I wouldn't give him any routing numbers he kept saying that without my permission they can't access my account.  well if I give you my routing number that is giving yo permission.  Needless to say I hung up on him and havent' received a copy of paperwork that he was going to email me in order to get the Loan modification started.

Thank YOU all for taking the time and writing reviews.  These people have been calling me non stop every day and I told them to please send me something in the mail so that I can look up the company on the internet.  I have tried to understand the name of the company until I asked the man to please spell it out for me. The man said that people from other companies have been paid to write bad things about them.  REALLY??  The BBB.org states they get in F because of bad practices. I will follow with my states attorneys office, how dare they think they can scam and get away with it.

Got same call from 888 541 5860, some Indian or Iranian sounding accent, and his name was Sam Higgins..........right!

They are still at it.  Not only do they call, they are sending out mail. AKA Mortgage Rescue Center locataed in Irvine CA.  The scammers are still at it.  Beware of the Indian sounding accent it is a dead giveaway.

Like "WATCH OUT!!!!!!! - 13 Aug 2009", I got a call from an Indian sounding guy - Name - KENNETH GREEN -- actually he was the second guy I spoke with.  The first guy (can't remember his name)had an Indian accent so thick, you could cut it. KENNETH also had an Indian accent - said he was from a govt approved indep. co. (Meridian Law Firm in Irvine, Calif) working w/ lenders to approve preforelosures for loan modification. (Obama loan modification plan... )

In short- they claim to be working to help you fight the ticking clock of foreclosure to save your place. They try to verify any income, etc.

I told him that I would have to call him back before I gave any approval on this process.  He gave me his number (213-261-5130) in addition to this 888-541-5860 number, and he asked when I would be calling him back...

NEVER!! will I call him!  Glad I found this site, and all the helpful comments.

You are correct. They are not registered as a Foreclosure Officer with the state of California.

This sounds like fraud

Gosh dangit.. I fell for it today. Did you have trouble after you gave them the information? Did they follow up with paperwork? Did they take your money?
I am totally freaking out!

You should report them to the attorney general's office.  I just got off the phone with them and they won't take any action until there's enough impact.  Everyone who is being contacted by this group should contact the AG's office.  They don't have any lawyers listed on the California Bar website and when I called them for the name of a lawyer that works there, they hung up.  Reports to the Attorney General's office need to be in writing to have any effect.  http://ag.ca.gov/loanmod/search_results.php

OK... I posted the last note earlier today- THIS GUY HAS CALLED BACK 6 TIMES!!!

I picked up once. He said he had "someone" who had $ who could help me & to trust him. Kept fishing for my account info.

I told him I was online and pulling up his web address. He hung up... then proceded to call back over and over on my cell and home phone.

Your social security #. Address. Cell #. All to get your file going so you wont lose your property.  He stated very similar parameters for qualification that my lender told me -- SO BE CAREFUL. The will want you to send a check.

The guy offered a lot of sympathy- saying things like, "Oh my god, I will do all I can to make sure you qualify. Im so sorry. Let me get your file started & we'll work together to make sure you don't lose your place..... Trust me, I will do everything I can..." He warned me of other scam companies that prey on people.

WATCH OUT- From the limited dialogue on the net- this looks like a SUPER SCAM to get whats left of nothing in your life. Im hoping they cant steal my identity w. my soc.# which I gave to him early in the conversation to get my file going... dammit...

Im getting geared up to file w/ the Ca. Atty Generals Office if this turns into a mess.

I made the mistake of calling them back today, out of frustration, and to see if it was a real number. They answered, and now I'm afraid of charges I might incur. He asked me for an agent name, I gave him Kenneth Green, he said that Kenneth Green was on leave -- I told him that seemed impossible since he had just called me 20 minutes earlier. I tried repeatedly to get a mailing address or some other way to confirm their legitimacy, to no avail. They refused to give me an address. He did assure me that they were "government backed" but refused to tell me which branch of the government was backing them.

I also called back my local phone company tracing/tracking line, and they said they were unable to get a number. She also told me to be very careful about calling those phone numbers back. That's why I'm worried now.

I have gotten at least a dozen calls from these people "Loan Modification Services." I have asked them repeatedly to quit calling. We have gotten to the point of being incredibly nasty and rude to them. We've told them to take us off their list, quit calling, etc... to no avail.

Today I finally got sick of it. I got a call at 8:25 (caller id: UNKNOWN CALLER - no number) I led him on for a bit and then asked for info from him. After much rude insisting from me, he gave me 1-888-541-8651 ext 822 Name: Gary Smith. Trust me, this guy didn't sound like a Gary Smith. He actually tried to convince me that they were a reputable company because "only legitimate companies can get toll free numbers." Mind you, this was still when he wasn't giving me any number.

So, I called my local operator and she said I can dial *57 to start a trace. I did, and while I was waiting for a call back from the fraud line people, they called again at 8:55 (caller id: UNKNOWN NAME 000-000-0000. Sounded like the same guy. This time he told me his name was Kenneth Green and his number was 1-888-541-5860 and asked me how soon I would be calling him back. I tried to run a trace again (each one costs $1), but it said that it was unable to trace the call.

Several times I've been told that they are based out of Irvine, CA, but they will never give an address. I can't find any company by this name in Irvine or anywhere else. I am so frustrated with these calls, I just want to scream. Now it's become a quest for me to follow this through to some sort of conclusion.

ohhh, its only just begun honey. They will call and call and call. Loan Mortages Services up to 3x day, every day.  They also call on another line with no area code 826-5193. They are a telemarketing company and wants you to give them all of your info but are stubborn about giving any of theirs.
