Got a message from Matt Barker this morning too, I always try and check companies like this out before I call them back, and glad I did.  I won't be getting back to him anytime soon!  Thanks for all the info on here. I am selling a boat on kijiji.  A message was left from Matt Barker of AMS.  Said that he could help sell my vehicle for a small fee.  Definately not interested!

They called me too. Ironically, they called my Google Voice account, the voicemail and text number to email number I use when I do something online, like Craigslist, for texts. FYI, last week I responded to a Craigslist ad about an RV for sale. I guess these Bozo's use Craiglists to get cold call numbers too. I did research before  I filed this with you folks.

The same story: I posted my car for sale on Craiglist and here is Matt. And it is everyday, only to leave a message and not to exchange a phone conversation.  I guess the few paper work he asks it needs to be filled include some personal numbers nobody who cares about identity or bank accounts would never share.

I ignore calls from "unavailable" but listened to the recorded message of a guy named "Mark Barker of AMS" offering to sell my car for a small fee but that they guarantee the results.  I'm not going to return his call.

got a call from this Matt guy, saying that he wanted to buy my truck, when I tryed to call him back it said that the number has changed. So happy that I looked it up before he phoned me back, what a f****r !!

Wow - if you call them back and actually wait to talk to someone, the woman who finally picks up is a real Bi***!!  They DO NOT want to call my number again..............I can get really ugly.....................

I have been recieving several calls at home and on my cell.  Both numbers listed on my craigslist ad.  My car has been sold for a while and they are still coming in.  Be nice if we could track this kind of scum down.

Yep....Matt Barker of AMS...both numbers...the 540-822-0685 comes up as a Lovettsville, VA VoIP...if you are able to find this a** breaking a law..or just find him...messages are obviously computer generated.
I'm a disabled veteran & single mom of twin girls w/Cerebral Palsy trying to sell my 21yr old Suburban...it's time for the laws to catch up with technology because guys like this should be stopped before they do anyone else harm!!!

Received several calls from "UNKNOWN" on my cell shortly after posting a craigslist for sale ad for my motorcycle. I didn't answer, and initially no messages were left. Then another call came from UNKNOWN, except this time it went to voicemail. An obviously automated/recorded voice from "Matt Barker of AMS" left a message claiming he saw my ad and has buyers lined up right now to buy my "vehicle" ("vehicle" covers both cars, trucks and motorcycles, so it's good for a "one size fits all" message). Obviously a scam from some lying scumbag hiding in some call center somewhere. I'm sure most people aren't taken in, but the vulnerable and the elderly are for sure. That's who these people really depend on for prey. Hopefully someone with a large shotgun will catch up with them and "sell them" some very recently used ammunition.

Just got the same call from Matt Barker with AMS he told me to call before 5pm. I live in BC, Canada I have had 3 scammers from one ad to sell my motorbike...all from the United States...annoying!!!

Funny...Matt has changed his number, or he's become dyslexic...it is now 888-550-2073.  Took my ad down 2 or more weeks ago (also in Canada...he must like us), and he KEEPS calling, even after being told the ad is gone and the car is sold.  How do you get rid of this shmuck!?  Too bad I'm not the one home to answer...I'm normally a total a-hole to telemarketers. And I have no guilty feelings about yelling at them either.  It's like dude!  Duck Dynasty is on! Get lost! Or Ellen even...go. away.

Just placed an an add with auto trader and received this scam call from Matt Barker/Carter from AMS

He is using up valuable oxygen for the human race, and should be relieved of this resource.

I just received 2 calls this week. I think they got my number because it was listed on cars.com. You can tell that this guy Matt is leaving messages with his prerecorded voice. They probably send that same call out to thousands of people, big time SCAM!!! From now on do not leave your phone numbers in any online ads, Craigslist, cars.com, etc. Instead request that they leave there phone number if there interested in your car do that you can google it first to avoid being scammed.

same here happen to me, don't answer just ignore this long distance scams, if you need to sell, it has to be face to face, and certified cheque that you take to the bank right there and verify it with a witness, then do the sell right there... otherwise you might be for a big trouble.. my car is for sales and am getting dozens of sms, calls from the US and Canada all are scams trying to figure out some info about you... name, phone numbers etc until they profile you.. this is social hacking be careful guys

I got a call from a Matt Barker. My caller ID showed BORDERS I let them leave a message and I called back immediately and ask for Matt!  Some woman said he was busy.  They were offering a service to help me sell my car that is only listed on Craigslist.  I ask her why it showed BORDERS on my caller ID and she couldn't explain.  This is a SCAM with a capital "S"!  This "BORDERS" number is listed on another website as a scam too!!!!!
