These people have been calling me for several weeks. There are different ones...Nicole Harris is the most recent. They are trying to collect a debt that I have absolutely NO RECOLLECTION of ever having. It is for some type of Visa from a bank I've never heard of, but the craziest thing is its supposedly from 2001!! This is 2014. I just stopped answering for them.

I too am from texas and the BAD CHECK aka Hot check law does not apply here. It is a debt and they are a third party debt collector that purchased your file and are trying to get you to pay them now, the original debt is no longer tied to them they can not sue you. you are being lied to. And all this bs about you received a letter in the mail is rubbish they refuse to send you anything, they do not obey debt collection laws and they change their phone number every week. Lots of red flags here, just hang up on these fools. They are not worth your time, hell they can not even post to your credit so you are worried they are coming after you for nothing.

The caller showed up as (PRIVATE CALLER)after answering they asked to speak to someone and said they needed that person to call back with a reference number .That they were trying to contact this person to serve them on two Arbitration . I asked the name of the company that was calling and the caller stated it had no name. I said that is strange and finally said he was working from home and this company hired him to serve  legal documents on the person. I said it really strange since you work for them and you have no name of the company and that's when he gave out some information and the phone number. So, I looked it up online
and saw all the complaints of "SANTA FE MANAGEMENT". So BEWARE of PRIVATE CALLERS .The company phone number given was (888-551-5849)again it showed up on my phone as PRIVATE CALLER)
If any one knows how to give this information to the BBB PLEASE DO SO. And Thank you!!!!
People are already having a hard time and the economy is difficult and these type of companies will take you and worry a person with all type of measures . Don't believe their HYPE!!!!

I asked why i never received a letter too -- but i know this debt is out there because i didnt pay it. They gave the address on file, and it was the one i had when i took out the loan (which makes sense) so i gave them a new address and within a week i received a letter showing that they have the debt. I also went to the original creditor who verified where my debt was. This company does actually have the legal rights to these debts, so i dont know who you are. Maybe you are a disgruntled former employee.. who knows. But I checked everything out. If you need a letter just simply request one, i'm sure they will send it.

I went to Ace Cash which is where I took out the original loan and they told me that my debt is with another company, i was given a phone number- and at that number they gave me the # for Santa Fe Management.  Ace told me that they can no longer accept my money and actually, if they do take your money, its just them pocketing it,  they are not putting towards your balance, so long story short, I talked to santa fe, they sent me a letter by mail and e-mail showing the balance and I paid it... I owe it, its paid and I can continue to work with ace now because it was reported back as paid.  Whats the big deal.. yea there are scam companies but i went through all of the verification and everything i needed to make sure i was paying the right people, if you care about your s*** then you will do that, if your a deadbeat, then be a deadbeat...now if im in a bind again i can take another loan out since this was paid, hopefully wont happen

I have once again reported to FBI IC3 - the best part the du****its leave their threatening and harrassing messages - great for a court case against them.  They are losers trying to pray on innocent people.  All I can say is that's probably why half the workers IMO were all in prison at one time from someone I heard once.  They are scammers and need to be put in jail again.  Just go to the FBI site they are great in helping end their scamming calls.

I was called by a Darlene Hall, who left the number 888-551-5849 for a Santa Fe Management.
I traced them to the bottom-feeder collection haven of Amherst, NY, but they would only give a P.O. Box 1313 and a zip code 14226. Also talked to a Jack Conrad of Santa Fe Management who threatened the same thing.
Know your rights people! These collection companies have no rights other than scare tactics. Just be sure they have no financial information of yours. If they happen to have your bank account info from a payday loan you took out, close the account, which I'm sure many of you have already. Collection Agents like this Santa Fe Management aren't even bonded to collect in many, if any states (I know they aren't in Texas) and they are basically powerless. If a collection agent can't send me something in the mail (where I usually turn around and send a certified cease letter) verifying the debt, which companies like Santa Fe Management won't, I ignore them. Their threats of "serving" you at home don't really hold up when nothing actually ever happens.
P.S. I'm in Texas too, where the laws to protect debtors are matched only by Florida in the entire country. A payday loan isn't considered a bad check by any DA or law enforcement entity.

The only problem I have is that I took out this loan in the state of texas, and because of the bad check laws and the way ace ran my payment... I can actually be in a lot of trouble. Review the laws in your state. I've been on disability for the past 8 months and can barely survive but i also believe in karma so as long as they understand my situation i dont care. but my kids are most important they need to eat and get to school, what left is for who i owe.

I USED TO RUN FROM DEBT COLLECTORS BUT NOW IM WORKING, SO I PAID MY DEBT AND THEY GAVE ME A RECEIPT. NOW THEY DONT CALL ME. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO BUT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY AND ARE SICK OF CALLS THEN JUST PAY IT.. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY THEN I GUESS FOCUS ON GETTING A JOB AND SUPPORTING YOURSELF. S*** HAPPENS

People,,, ignore them.  They are empty threats, they can't serve you anything legal unless they file a claim in the court of your county.  They have purchased old debts, old payday advances, etc. and they try to scare you.  Let it go, never pay them anything or give them any information, play their game, tell them they have the wrong number, don't debate with them, block their number and eventually they will give up.  If you do owe a debt for a payday loan and you want to pay it then go to the place you got the loan and pay it DO NOT  pay these people.

I too recieved a phone call from a man claiming to be a locating service, this is the second time this has happened to me. If you google payday scam loans you can see that they cannot threaten you with legal actions. Also ask for their fax number so you can fax a cease desist letter which after recieving this document they are no longer allowed to contact you by law and if they try they can be sued by you and get into legal trouble. I also learned not to pay anything that is over two years old. It is better to try and rebuild your credit. I had a financial advisor tell me that since I am a product of Idenity theft.

Nicole Harris left a message with the receptionist at my job, indicating this was a legal matter & a complaint was being filed against me, they were going to be stopping by to serve me. The receptionist brought me the message as I was answering my personal phone & it was her on my phone. She referred to me by my maiden & married name, said the receptionist is a liar b/c she said i wasn't available. I told her she had no business calling my job & leaving a verbal message as she just did. She provided me the info regarding Santa Fe & told me if i called them immediately, she wouldn't be by to serve me. I told her nicely that if she came to my place of employment, there would be another issue to deal with! Once I called Santa Fe, I was lucky enough to get a "supervisor" to answer the call directly. When i told her about the prior call, she said she would "file a complaint to make sure Nicole was spoken to" (i had to give her Nicole's name). Additionally, she went into detail regarding the "claim" of defrauding Ace Cash Advance. She wanted to know what was the reason I hadn't paid by the loan & what was going on at the time I needed this loan. I told her I was at work & couldn't discuss this, however, she could send me whatever she wanted in writing & I will respond to it. I had papers emailed to me within a couple minutes - also being told that the quicker i respond to these, the better it would be so that I wasn't served. I will admit I owe this money & am more than willing to pay it back, but there is a right way & wrong way to go about collecting a debit, the "serving company" is clearly going about it wrong.

I continue to receive calls from Santa Fe Management (they block their number when they call).  This week alone, they have been calling every single day.  Earlier today I received a call from a man named Jack Morrison and he left a message stating he was calling me to give me another chance to try and work things out directly with Santa Fe Management, because he was going to be in my area next week and he would be looking for me to serve me.  I called 888-551-5849 and I was transferred to three different people.  I spoke to Michelle Johnson first and she was telling me this was a debt from a payday loan (Ace Cash Express).  She was giving me a spill about it was my resposibilty to pay, and I agree I owe the debt. I asked for a payment arragement, again she stated it was my resposiblilty to pay and the company wants to file charges against me, so I need to pay the balance in full.  This woman was very rude and a smart @$$.  She placed me on hold and another woman came on the line.  She stated her name is Melissa and she's a senior legal advisor.  She stated she could set up a payment arragement if I provided her with a debit card and she could send a court release order to prevent me from getting served.  She asked questions, like how much I make and how many in my household.  Then she asked for my employer.  I told her I did not have to disclose my employer and she stated that she could not help me because I obviously have something to hide.  I asked her if she wanted the payment or not, she said no because I was refusing to answer her questions.  I disconnected the call.

The original call from this company was to my home phone number which is on a do not call list. They left a very detailed message including a name of Allison Bennett and a claim number. When I called this number it was answered as Santa Fe Management and directed me to press "0" for the next available person. The person that answered did not ask me for the claim number but after a slight pause with a "hmm" then stated that it was regarding some checks and the issue had been resolved with her client. I then asked her why they were calling me and she stated it was because my name showed as a relative. When asked if she realized that even if this claim was true that under debt collection laws they do not have the right to call numbers that are on the do not call list. At this point she became rude and when informed that they need to remove my number from their list she hung up.

Possibly your daughter has taken a payday loan to finance her habit, or the "hot check" calls could be coincidental. The PDL collector claims are frequently bogus and/or riddled with lies and misdirection which are illegal. One of the favorite lies is the empty threat of litigation. This can be answered with a *real* summons and complaint if the PDL thugs are domestic.

My spam blocker sent this call directly to my voice-mail, which is odd because it usually just answers and immediately hangs up suspected spam so that it does not go to my voicemail at all.

The message that was left was from Sarah Davis and she said that she just received a fax order for some bad checks and that I still had an opportunity to contact the claimant at 888-551-5849, reference file # xxxxx and that this is my official notice.  Well, first, I don't have a checking account, I have a prepaid debit card that my check is directly deposited to  and 2nd, I don't fool with Ace they are too expensive to do business with, I'm a Moneybox type of lady ;).  I' did not plan on calling them back, but I did not like the fact that she used my official name, which is only used by my mother and bill collectors.

I received a call this morning from a woman claiming she was calling on behalf of Santa Fe Management.  She said I needed to call 888-551-5849 as soon as possible because Santa Fe has contacted her to have me served for fraudulent checks.  She stated she did not want to have to serve me at my place of employment or residence.  I think it is a scam because a couple of weeks ago the same company called my mom, and other family members looking for me claiming I had to go to court on 03/27/12 for the same reason.
