Got the call from 888-562-0999

Just another company like Personnel Concepts who deceive you with their aggressive calls. The government jumped all over Personnel Concepts with their misleading calls and mail. They actually tricked one of my employees by threatening fines and she ordered posters without notifying me.

Stay away from these companies. Once you order something from them, they will send you signs all the time without notice and charge you. Near impossible to get your money back.

The signs are available free like other posters mentioned.

And despite what an agent of the company said earlier in this thread. The person that called me blatantly tried to mislead me into thinking I had gotten posters from them before.

They are called "Labor Law Compliance" and that is how they introduce themselves to you when you answer. They then proceed to say your OSHA and federal compliance posters are ready to send and ask for your credit card.

Of course they are NOT a government agency of any sort they are just using their DBA name and this carefully worded phone script that sounds very official to poach business owners that do not know better to buy their over-priced posters.

Borderline scam.

I just got a call from Ann Stubler stating she was with Labor Law Compliance and wanted to know if I had ordered my labor law posters ? When I told her that these posters are free from the state she said yes but this call is for the federal posters and I needed to pay $189.99 for the kit so that I would be in compliance with the Federal Government. I let her know that I would get back to her after I spoke to the Secretary of States office in Minnesota and the Attorney Generals office - Because these posters are free. Ann stated no, no they are NOT FREE and the fee for these were REQUIRED. I specifically told this person NOT TO SEND ANYTHING - and that i would get back to them after checking ....SCAM SCAM SCAM!!  They are indeed free from your state Dept of labor and you can get them at Osha.gov

Thank you everyone for your info on this. I just got my first message from this woman. It seemed a bit odd that she said she was calling from "Labor Law Compliance"....I don't have any employees, so I know I don't have to be in compliance with anything so I googled the number. If anyone has a VOIP system like Jive, you can set up a call filter and block the number in less than 3 mins. Jive even gives the option to let the caller know that they have been "blacklisted" by this business. If you don't want to be mean like me, you can just choose the hang up option and the call will never get through.

I wish I would have googled this number before I started stressing out about this. Lady called asking for the owner of the building, wondering if he had ordered the Federal Labor Law postings that are required to be posted in the common areas of our building, i.e. breakroom, waiting rooms, etc. Her name was Nan Westerfield, ext. 1960. Told her I would have to get the owners number and call her back. Thanks everyone. I have a better understanding of what this company is. Just trying to sell materials!

At first I thought it was really labor law that was calling me to get posters for my business.  Luckily I realized that wasn't it.  I had a phone call from Amanda telling me these posters were $189.99 and wanted me to pay on the phone.  Are you kidding me!  Quickly realized this place was a scam and hung up.  This place needs to be shut down in my opinion.

888-562-0999 ext. 14

Dear Linda:

Thanks to sites like these, I will not be calling you back nor be even remotely concerned with the BS scare tactics you may have tried to employ this morning.  Mind you, you wouldn't have gotten away with anything anyway even I did happen to take your call but its nice to have place like this post your numbers and read about the experiences from others you may try to take.

Your Friend:

JG, the one you will never put one over on and will give you a lecture about ethics, if we ever do speak.

I am getting these calls from 888-562-0999 Ext 704 2 to 3 times a day.  First day left a message for the owner from Stephanie (somebody) could not make her last name out for me to return her call.  Says she's with the Office of Compliance and Safety Standards.  Thing of it is I AM NOT A BUSINESS AND DON'T OWN A BUSINESS AND NEVER HAVE!!!!  They are also calling private homes with this scam too!
This woman sounded older and not Foreign.  Somehow these people need to be stopped for once and for all.  The FBI should be contacted and shut them down.  This is pure fraud! Everyone get busy and shut these people down for once and for all!  Don't let them get by with this any longer!  Call our lawmakers who are to protect us.  Call your Attorney General's Office in your state and file a complaint!

I own several businesses and have been approach on several occasions by this company and many others.

There are so many ways to obtain the necessary mandated posters. If the only place to receive them is through the Government web site, then Costco, Office Depot, and many other retail places would be considered in violation for selling the posters.

We live in a society, that so many businesses take advantage of using misleading and scrupulous sales tactics for a profitable capital gain. Even though we have strict laws to protect the consumer under the "The Consumer  Protection Act", some companies really believe they are above the laws such as Labor Law Compliance. Most businesses that operate in this manner eventualy self destruct.

The posters are implemented to protect the employees as well as the business owners. If a good reputable business owner doesn't provide a desirable work environment and abide by the laws, they should not be in business.

I keep up with all the laws by visiting the Government web sites often. I recommend to know the laws.

If you are contacted by any company trying to sell, trick, or force you to buy through them the OSHA posters, go here and search for your closest regional office and report the scammers:
https://www.osha.gov/html/RAmap.html

Acquiring 'Free' OSHA Publications and Posters:
https://www.osha.gov/Publications/workplace_poster_page.html

Osha Publications and Posters Osha Workplace Poster
We continue to learn of complaints from employers who have received "official looking" announcements and -- in some cases -- threatening notices, messages, or telephone calls from various companies requiring that employers purchase OSHA documents from them in order to remain in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations. The most popular document being offered for sale is the OSHA Workplace Poster:
https://www.osha.gov/Publications/osha3165.pdf
Also available in Spanish:
https://www.osha.gov/Publications/osha3167.pdf

We have also learned of a few cases in which individuals, falsely identifying themselves as Department of Labor or OSHA employees, contact employers threatening fines if they do not purchase specific materials.

It's important that all employers do not become victim of misleading solicitation practices or incur unnecessary costs where these resources are concerned.

OSHA's publications and posters are available free to anyone who asks simply by visiting the publications page on the agency's Web site at:
http://www.osha.gov/pls/publications/publication.html.
The publications, posters, fact sheets, etc., can be ordered through the publications office or, in most cases, downloaded directly from the Web site.

As a reminder, employers are required to continually display a poster prepared by the Department of Labor that informs employees of protections afforded under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The poster must be displayed in a conspicuous place where employees can view it. Private employers may use the poster available from OSHA's Web site, or a suitable reproduction or facsimile.

You can contact any OSHA area office throughout the nation to report a misleading solicitation, or to get information on specific workplace safety and health requirements. Those office addresses and phone numbers are available on the agency's Web site at:
http://www.osha.gov/html/RAmap.html.

OSHA updates its Web site daily. We invite you to refer to it often for important information about workplace safety and health.

Are you aware of the Florida telemarketing laws morals and ethics? Do you "honestly" comply with them for the sale as a professional business represenative under the 2010 Florida Code Title XXXIII -Regulauions of Trade-Chapter 501.601 to 501.626? (501.615 refund policy)?

The irony is you break the law to enforce the law for money.

You left out some misleading details about your sale tatics.

1)  Your udates are not free. You charge a $10.00 shipping fee for any addtional posters sent after the lifetime fee has been paid for. Do you disclose that at the time of the sale?

2) Do you disclose your return or cancellation policy during the call?

3) Do you sell the posters to businesses with no employees?

4) Do you threaten the potential customer that they will be fined?

A suggestion to you, get yourself educated on Florida telemarking laws morals and ethics.

Words of Wisdom.

"Life Time" is the true scam. Beth McManus will convince you that you will be recieving annual updates.Truth is there hasn't been any Federal changes to the DOL poster since 2009. You can purchase the nessesary postings at many places less expensive. Once you have purchase the "Life Time" plan you do not hear from Labor Law Compliance, Institute LLC again.

Make sure you clearly understand their return policy. That's the other scam. If you want to cancel, go directly through your bankk and tell them you have been misled or you will be paying a $37.50 "restocking" fee. If you call to cancel your order verbally, they ignore your request and process it anyway.

All complaints should be filed to the "Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services"

These people have been calling me since 6/29/13 demanding I buy these "OSHA mandated posters". The business is a sole proprietorship so no such posters are needed for one and for two if they are needed you can them for free through OSHA. Why pay $189.99? I asked to be removed from the database and yet I still receive calls. Today the called before 9am and I've had enough! I just reported them to the FCC. Hopefully the calls will stop!

Please go to      http://www.osha.gov/Publications/workplace_poster_page.html      for FREE Labor Law Posters!!!!!!!!

OSHA also gives you contact information to REPORT THIS FALSE/MISLEADING SOLICITATION.

We are now being harassed after telling them to kindly remove us from their solicitation list as we already have our posters up and available to all employees. They are calling continuously but not saying anything when we answer. Nan Westerfield is the one who keeps calling us.... I'm not even the manager here. Why call me?! Hopefully, they will get shut down.

I just got a call from Beth McManus, and she attempted to persuade me to purchase $188 of posters I was "required" to purchase from her. I thought it was sketchy that she asked for a credit card number over the phone, so I looked up her number 888-562-0999, and sure enough it was a scam. BE CAREFUL!! This is ridiculous!

Received a message from this number. As a business owner, I knew this was a sales pitch immediately. I don't know if it is a scam, though. Moreover, the message is very misleading. The caller mentioned "I have a package of labor posters you need to bring you into compliance". If you own or run a business and fell for this, you need to wise up quickly...

Just got this call; within 5 minutes they had my credit card - been in business 5 years but just listed our phone # a couple weeks ago. Came back and googled and found this thread; called back and they cancelled and admitted that a portion of these forms can be found free, but not all of them.

Either way, they were nice about it and cancelled; we'll see if it shows up on my CC or not...
