just got a call - collections agency

I answered and it was payment inquiry for a hospital bill that I owe.

I received a call from Frank from this number.  He wanted to confirm my date of birth and he knew it.  He stated he was calling from a business bulding, but would not say what company he worked for.  He was also very aggressive so just hung up the phone.  If you don't know who it is, treat it as if it were a scam.

requests your full name and date of birth at place of employment.

Didn't answer it ,just saw it on my caller id when  I got home that day 11-27-07@7:29pm mst

We received a call from this number and when I answered the person said her name was Christina and I told her I didn't know the person she was trying to reach and that we get tons of unwanted phone calls all the time for that same person. She had our complete address which bothered me as I don't like spammers knowing all our info and she asked me again, with a much more doubting tone in her voice if I was sure I didn't know the person she was calling for and I repeated my answer once again and she finally and reluctantly said she'd take our number of their call list. I'm guessing we'll keep getting phone calls, though.

they called me to finalize payment for an emergency room visit i had back in november 2007.  i hadn't made payment, and they offered me 30% off to make a lump sum payment that day.  figured i'd jump at the savings and made the payment.

I got a call from this number as well and when I typed it into google I found this website.  I sure hope it isn't some kind of phone spam...I don't need them calling my cell phone.  Anyone discover what kind of number this is?

These people have been calling me for days (888-565-0146).  Today they left a message saying they're calling from the business office of a local hospital where my husband had surgery earlier this year.  They left a local call back number but I don't know why they're calling - we've already made payment arrangements with them so it's not like a creditor would be calling.  I'll have my dh call the local office later and see if it's legit and what they want.

how did you fill out a credit card app without giving ssn?

I got a call from this number today, about 2 hours ago, a similiar number tried to call me.

I made a big mistake and filled out a shady credit card app online. I think I am getting phone spam. Frustration. I feel like an idiot. Thankfully I didn't give my SS# or anything like that.

I don't answer calls from numbers I do not recognize either.  I got a call from 888-565-0146 on my cell phone on 9/13/2007 at 9:51 am.  I did a look up on this number via google, Yahoo, anywho.com, TollFreePhone.com, as well as on PhoneNumberScan.com.  Nothing came up at all. I noticed on someone else's post that they found a community hospital in Kentucky with this number. I did a look up of that facility as well, and no numbers match.

Who are these people?

i didnt answer the phone. i dont answer calls i dont recognize the number of, nor, do i answer "unknown name, nuknown number", or "unknown caller".
