They are a pure scam. Call the directors of the clubs. No one sees the unauthorized directories.

There are also other things to consider. Depending on which city you live in the telephone directory may go to as many as a few hundred thousand people and people tend to keep these directories for a full year. Whereas the full color ad may go to a small publication distributed to a tiny number of people that may not even open it and if they do are likely to discard it immediately after having done so. The size of the ad is only one small factor in considering how to spend advertising dollars wisely. Most telephone directories give a one line yellow page listing FREE for the first one line listing in a non bold type. Could you provide more specific information as to the specific city and  directory that charged you $500 for a single line listing in their yellow pages? This post seems a little suspicious to me.  Could this post be from a source affiliated with this phone number? The fact that you state they "are a member in good standing with the BBB and chambers throughout the country" means very little. The BBB is a joke. Of all the business crime and corruption that exists can you find one single case where they, the BBB,  have taken legal action against any business anywhere in the nation in the last few years? If so please provide the court, case number and parties named in this action. It is usually very easy for any business to become a member of their local BBB my merely paying their annual membership dues. Typically, If they get caught taking advantage of a few innocent victims that complain to the BBB all they usually have to do is correct the wrongs with the individuals that caught them to remain in good standing with their local BBB. Of course they also need to pay their annual membership dues. But what about the victims that do not file a formal complaint with the BBB? What does the BBB do to protect them?

I too received a call from these guys a little bit ago. The caller identified himself as Dan Dajowski from Coast to Coast and said he was calling for the "guys at Hidden Hills". Hidden hills is an area of town here. They do have a golf course but we also do a lot of property management work & one of the offices has a branch in Hidden Hills. "Dan" did not specify the reason for his call, if it was in reference to the HH Golf Club, or any other identifying data other than phone number & extension (He left a message). He did not specify that he wanted to speak to the owner of the company, although he may have if I had called him back.

I am glad that I know enough to Google any 800, 866 or 888 phone numbers that come in before returning them and I NEVER answer them. Unsolicited sales calls are as bad a SPAM on your computer. They take up valuable time & energy for a small business like mine. When they are calling they are preventing a Real Customer from getting through!

If you guys are still actively reading this website - Use Social media like everyone else does & stop bothering us with Cold Calls!!

PS: Not all decision makers are Owners - Some of us have been vested with the authority to make pertinent decisions by the business owners, especially if it is a family owned & run business!!

called and called being vague and left no reasons. i requested to take our business name off the list and the lady (arlene, ext 348) called again anyway and left a cold and unfriendly message. i had to call to speak with a manager. it's flat out harassment for 2 years running now and we asked to be removed and expressed our disinterest last year as well. very rude, very dishonest and very vague. ruthless advertising methods.

Rec'd voice mail from Azi @ "The River Club" in Suwanee, Ga.  from 888 566-9993 ext. 325.  I called the local # instead of the 888 # because these folks said they wanted to rent a bounce house from us.

The "real" River Club said they don't have any 888 number or any person named Azi. I never call 800, 866, or 888 #'s, these folks are liars!   PLEASE STOP CALLING MY BUSINESS W/ FALSE INTENTIONS.

Thx u...

I received a message today from Kevin Larkin 888-566-9993 x312. He's said that he was calling from Cypress Country Club. We do not have a club by that name around here but we do have a very exclusive private golf course in Pebble Beach, CA called Cypress Point. Thanks for all of the information. I do not plan on returning his call! I own a very small video production company so I am sure that he got my number off of my website.

Did you acually visit the country clubs to see if the magazine was distibuted?

- I paid Country Club Quarterly last August for a full page ad in their magazine.
- They approved my ad.
- The magazine has never materialized.
- There are no magazines in ANY of the country clubs mentioned.
- Country Club Quarterly no longer answers the phones or emails.  (561.865.5862 on the invoice OR 561.860.7104 on the bank debit contract number)

The reason I am looking at these notes from Coast to Coast:  the website (www.countryclubquarterly.com) has a link at the bottom right corner under "journals" that shows sample magazines.  I have called all the advertisers in this magazine and have reached a few of them.  They all purchased their ads from Coast to Coast (not Country Club Quarterly).  So far, no business that I have spoken to saw any magazine other than the one sent to their house.  Are they one and the same?

I received a call from the same representative (Steve) a week later.  He offered me an even better deal...this time only $500 for more distribution.  This time the payee was Prestige World (561-860-7104, the same number as Country Club Quarterly).  No person answers this phone either.

Thanks for this website and the comments.  I just received a call from Robbie McCarty.  He called from a 561 area code and left a message saying only that it was regarding Royal Poinciana Golf Club and asked me to call him back at 888-566-9993 ext 323.   Glad to know he's someone trying to sell me something that may or may not be a scam.  Scam or not, it is seedy to actually mention a Golf Club in the message to entice me to call back.   Not going to work this time, dude.

Got a call from Brett asking to speak with owner. He says it is regarding to a local country club. I ask him if he is looking for service he only insist on speaking to the owner and would not say what the call is for. Usually that is a sign that they are trying to sell you something. Don't be fooled.

Nick Sabo has left two messages for my business needing a call back within the past three days. Said he is calling for the Champion Run Country Club here in Omaha and that he really needs to talk to the owner. He left the return number 888-566-9993 ext 320. His voice sounded very frustrated. The caller ID  showed Coast to Coast with a number of 561-272-9488. When I called 888-566-9993 I heard a message indicating they are Coast to Coast Publishing Group with their hours of M-F 8am-4pm and please enter the extension of the party you wish to contact.

got a call from this number this morning, as well, selling some golf club. since i have never played golf, i was immediately suspicious. i called back and left a voicemail stating that i did not play golf and did not want my time to be wasted. he called back and said he didn't play golf, either. by then, i had read this comment thread and knew it was a scam, so i immediately said I wanted no part of what he was selling and hung up.

This is obvious posted by a Coast to Coast Publishing shill.
Coast to Coast Publishing is a dishonest company. They can't really be considered scammers because as far as I can tell, they do provide a product. It's just that the product is not what they claim, may not be distributed as they promise, and is highly unlikely to produce any benefit for anyone but the "publishing" company. To top it off, the sales people are deceptive in their calls, pretending to be interested in your services and presenting themselves as affiliates or representatives of other companies.
STAY AWAY!

Same story- caller left message saying he was affiliated with local golf course, and interested in speaking with my about our services. Made it seem like they had a project the wanted to discuss. I called back and it was Coast to Coast publishing. I tore into him about using deceptive practices, and told him to lose my number,  which is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry. I also told him that I would be reporting the activity to the golf course. I don't plan on doing that, though. I'm sure they don't have anything to do with this and can't do anything to stop it.

Intelius shows 888-566-9993 as a land line in Delray Beach, FL.  Google search the number and it leads to Coast to Coast marketing.  Representatives are calling "in regards to" a local country club.  I have received a call like this before and after some research found that they usually offer "discount cards" listing local contractors (you) and a discount deal they've worked out.  You end up paying to be listed on the card and offering a percentage or dollar amount off for services to people with the discount card.  Not necessarily a scam; I have seen a few testimonials supposedly from new businesses who have built their clientele with this type of advertising, but most do not benefit.

Received a call from Bill Minor, call originated from number 561-272-9488. Bill asked me to call back to 888-566-9993, xt 309 and in his message referred to Westchester Hills Country Club.

Checked Westchester Hills Country Club telephone number as as I realized it had nothing to do with the above numbers, decided to check further and found that there are issues with them.

Yes, I got the same message yesterday ... same name Diane Carlson but this time she was with IMG Academies .... IMG is just down the street from us... we have a home improvement company ... so yes, it sounds like a telemarketer looking for people to advertise in their publication  ....so they look for local business then they look up a major place of possible interest to the owner of that business and tha's how they get you ... so I'm not calling!!!!
