I have received hangup calls on my mobile phone from this number as well as the other numbers listed below. Writers to this website have identified these numbers as being associated with the Sacramento Bee. That information correlates with my situation since I began receiving these calls about the time I switched from a daily  Bee subscription to to a Sunday only subscription. And, later I unsubscribed because of the change in the Sacramento's be vacation hold policy.

I was able to locate a real person with the Sacramento (California) Bee to help me deal with this problem. (I located him through this website: http://gethuman.com)

The person I dealt with at the Bee was helpful and efficient and I received an email recently confirming actions were being taken. It remains to be seen if those will be effective since I have received one further 10 pm hangup call since receiving an email telling me of the Bee's remedial actions. The email, in pertinent portion states as follows:

"I apologize that the people involved with this soliciting are not following the rules, I have sent this email to the person in charge of telemarketers, they will be reprimanded and you should no longer receive any phone calls from them."

I don't know how much control the Bee has over its telemarketers since, even if I had a continuing business relationship with the Sacramento Bee, there telemarketers must pick up any call they have made within two seconds to avoid it being hangup call-obviously they are not doing that. They can also not call after 9 PM which they have done. Therefore, I have blocked those numbers on my Verizon account and have listed my mobile phone number with the national Do Not Call listing.

I live in Northern California and am on the do not call list (have been for a couple years now and let me tell you it doesn't work, I always get junk calls) and I have been getting calls from this particular number for the past few months. Have never answered because its an 888 number and they usually call at least twice a day. They won't leave me alone even though I send it straight to voicemail. Why isn't telemarketing illegal... I'm not personally subscribed to any newspapers, let alone North County Times, nor have I cancelled any so I don't even know

Hey what do you know, I was a Sac Bee subscriber too.  Since I canceled the idiots from this number have also been calling me daily.  They hang up when I answer, and never leave a message.

I just called the number back and left a message of my own. I know it's pointless, but it felt kind of good because I basically cursed and yelled at them for a good minute.

They call and hang up and when I pick up no one is there.

these boobs are calling a business line. they apparently don't understand that if you don't dial an extension you go to the "telemarketer" mailbox.

just curious how many times have you filed a complaint against this company at the do not call website? if none then YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. it does ZERO good to complain HERE if you are not willing to file a complaint ON THE WEBSITE WHERE YOU REGISTERED YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

I added this number to block calls on my cell phone account.  It blocks the number from calling for 90 days.  I then add it again if the calls return.

Refer them to the FCC guidelines and tell them you are going to report them. I receive calls from this number, this time I answered because I was going to yell! They heard me answer, took a deep breath and hung up. Next time I'm just gonna call them a$$****s when I answer the phone.

Ditto on that one.  We just cancelled our Sacramento Bee subscription so they are back trying to drum up business.

Yes! The Sacramento Bee. I canceled my paper delivery about 2 weeks ago. I told them I lost my job and that I can no longer afford it. They hound me constantly and it's always from a different number. I have told them 3 times since I canceled, STOP CALLING ME. I believe they have sold my number to some telemarketers to get me to sign up again. I just keep blocking all numbers. They completely ignore that I'm listed in the national do not call list.

Stop calling!  No one answers, they just hang up.

They call several times a day and don't leave a message.  They just called twice within  a half hour 8:23 and 8:54.  I am on the do not call list, but they still call all the time.

I get calls from this number several times a day. One member of our family sleeps during the day and this is very aggravating. Please stop these calls.

The call is listed on my cell phone as coming from a family member.  When I return the call, it is not Amy but a telemarketer voice mail.  How do I get Amy's name off as the caller?

cancelled NC Times newspaper and now getting called by this number with no message being left!!

Phone calls are received since I cancelled my subscriotion to the Nort County Times Newspapaer in San Diego County.  They will not leave a message nor will they stop calling. Never again will they get my money for another paper!!

I'm on DNC, it doesn't stop these jerks.

This caller continues to call my cell phone at least once and sometimes twice a day.  I do not answer calls (either cell phone or land line) that display telephone numbers I am unfamiliar with.  These calls are nuisances.

The times I have picked up and talked to the sales people, I told them I moved out of that area years ago and to take me off of their list but that didn't work so today I left a message.
